The U.S. will use its veto power against a Palestinian bid to be recognized as a member state of the United Nations during a vote at the Security Council expected to take place Thursday evening. Vedant Patel, principal deputy spokesperson for the State Department, described as premature an effort by the Palestinian Authority (PA) to gain member status at the U.N. He said there was not unanimity among the Security Council’s 15 members that the Palestinian Authority had met the criteria for membership, with unresolved questions over the governance of the Gaza Strip, where Israel is in a war to defeat and eliminate the controlling power, Hamas. “And for that reason, the United States is voting no on this proposed Security Council resolution,” Patel said.

Earlier it was revealed that the United States was secretly pressuring other members of the Security Council to shoot down a Palestinian state membership so the US wouldn't have to use its veto as that would lead to a wave of local and international criticism for Joe Biden.

Don't let the media make what's happening with Israel, Iran and Jordan into some "middle-east problem" again. This was entirely orchestrated and encouraged by the US and the UK. Israel initiated every attack against Lebanon, Syria, Palestine, and Iran. Israel KILLED, targeted, the children and grandchildren of Palestinians political leaders. And the US could've stopped all of this by simply not giving Israel money and weapons bu they didn't.

The Western media has constructed this narrative that countries like Iraq and Iran are the problem and the western nations are the antidote keeping their 'terrorism' at bay. No, they have always and at all times started the conflicts, or worsened them.

Because they want the land, they want hegemony over the resources of that region and that is it. And they've demonstrated already by killing over 33,000 people that they'll do anything.

Stop joking about World War 3 and take the loss of lives and the horror of what is happening seriously. This cannot keep escalating

"Are you sure this is a good idea?"

Secondo isn't a nervous man, if anything, he considers himself incredibly blessed not to suffer from anxiety. But something about setting up a pillow fort in his room made him feel... what was the word--

"Oh, come on," you gently nudge his side. "Why so self conscious? We are in the privacy of your living quarters after all."

Ah, there was the word he was looking for.

Last night, you and Secondo had a deep conversation about childhood, and you felt as if he needed a little extra light in his day. He had never built a pillow fort before? A blanket fort? Never created a little world of his own to snuggle up and play? You found that absurd.

Yes, the two of you were adults and yes, you did have Ministry duties to attend today but you decided that this was more important. Even if Secondo looks at you as if you have grown a second head.

He rubs the back of his neck as he watches you pull up a desk chair and drape one of his velvety green blankets across it. You were using some books to weigh down the blankets on the bed as you would drape the other side over chairs or his bedside table. Then you'd take some more books and anchor them on the flat services.

Inside the makeshift canopy were various throw pillows and blankets, some you had borrowed from Copia and Primo because Terzo would have thrown a fit if you used any of his good throws or blankets. You had a plushie or two inside as well.

"Come on, it'll be okay," you tell him gently. You stand on your tip-toes and give the tallest of the Emeritus brothers a warm kiss on the cheek. Then you crawl inside.

He hesitates for a moment and then sighs. He winces as his joints pop from bending and he worries about wrinkling his Papal robes... "Eh, what the hell."

He crawls inside the fort with you. He is pleasantly surprised by how roomie it is and the feeling is quite... comforting and safe. His eyes light up as he sees some of his favourite snacks on a small plate and he marvels at the fairy lights you had lined on the inside of the fort.

"Here," you lean with your back against the bed and pat your lap invitingly. As soon as he rests his head in your lap, you pull one of Primo's quilts over his shoulders and rub your thumb along Secondo's cheekbone.

He settles rather easily and holds your free hand, placing tender little kisses along your knuckles and murmuring his love for you against your skin.

"This is silly," he says eventually. Though he makes no effort to move. He chuckles at the black lipstick marks he has left along your hand and gives your palm a kiss. "But I like it."
