Ma'am. Sometimes, outside of her bedroom, the word made her feel ancient. Even her demon blood couldn't keep her young forever, though it certainly kept the wrinkles at bay. However, in context, it drove her mad. She spent so much time acting demure and small for those around her. But Susan liked to be powerful, and in the bedroom, she didn't have to hide that.
Spurred on, Susan grabbed Herc's shirt and pulled him closer into the kiss, walking him backwards until his thighs met with her bed. The succubus pushed him down onto it and said, "take off you trousers."
A command. Not that she thought anyone would disobey.

She pursed her lips as she listened and poured hot water from the kettle.
Susan rarely assumed men had the best intentions, but after knowing Al for so long… he was a hopeless romantic. He wouldn’t let his eyes wander from his partner for a second. She wanted to believe him. That and what a stupid thing to walk away about.
“Maybe she’s mad about something else? I really don’t think a movie choice is enough to storm off about. And no. I doubt she is offended you didn’t pick a gorier movie…” she trailed off and brought the teas over to where Al settled.
She looked at him with a curious expression, “is there anything else she could be upset about? Something brewing in the background?”

Susan was never sure of what she wanted, but this amorphous wanton urge inside her never denied its wants. There was one more breathless moment in between them and then time continued. Susan ripped her lips away from Hercules one more time and turned to lead him to her room.
"Lock the door," she ordered behind her, giving her confirmation. The last thing Susan needed was Al coming over if there was a ruckus upstairs again. If he let himself in, like she said he could, and saw her feeding... she'd have to leave town and never look back.
She looked back to Hercules, just down the hall from her. Doing what she said, like a good boy. She smiled coyly in the doorway of her bedroom, "Well, you coming?"

Susan was aware this was a bad decision, but she couldn't help herself. It had been a fortnight since she fed, some girl from an NTO bar. Her place was nice, her roommates were nicer. They gave Susan everything she needed and more to last her this long without much of a fuss.
She fumbled for her keys, remembering the whispers in her ear over the music at Pixie's. She knew not to hunt at home, but she hadn't planned on taking anyone to her place.
'Tough day at work?' It was. She let him buy her a drink. Mistake one. Hercules, local business owner, loved by all. He sealed his fate in choosing her over the younger audience fawning over him. His hand on her back, lips next to hers. He was stuck in her web, like many before him.
Their eyes did most of the talking when she slipped away from the bar and led him to her car. A hybrid, because while Susan was a monster, she wasn't a monster! The short drive home was filled with those same hands on her thighs and whispers in her ear.
Breaking from a heated kiss in the hallway, she was bold enough to do that this late at night, she got her key in the door.
"You sure you want to do this? My room's the last door on the left..." the succubus said breathlessly, allowing him to seal the deal.

Susan listened attentively while she padded to her cupboard to get out her new tea. Luckily, the cabinet door blocked the face she made at Nora's reasoning for the argument.
"Well, was she?" The succubus doubted that was the best question, but she did her best to make light of most situations. "Sorry, I mean, I don't think the objective beauty of an actress is a fair thing to be mad about. It's their job to be hot and attract a certain audience."
She knew all about that being a performer herself. The employees of the Court knew they sold their voices and bodies, not just the experience. Susan grabbed her mugs and brought them to the counter with the tea sachets. "And I know you, you like those action super hero movies. I wouldn't believe for a second you chose it to fawn over an actress, over say... the cinematography or special effects."

She understood not wanting to be alone. It was something she felt every day. Susan almost gets to a point where she thinks she can manage having friends other than Jess, then remembers why she keeps most at a distance. She knew Al wasn't lonely, but she could enjoy the company all the same.
"Perfect, I recently got a new blend I've been wanting to try. We can have that." She patted his shoulder and lead the way to the stairwell and down the hall to her place, directly below his. Susan remembered when Al had a pipe burst and it leaked into her closet years ago. She wondered if he'd realize how loud the fight was through the floor...
She opened her door and ushered him in, "As for lady things, I am an open book. Do you mind if I ask what happened?"

Susan frowned, "So I heard..."
She knew he had a better support system than her, and that Nora was not the ideal partner behind closed doors. But Susan didn't know if anyone in his immediate circle of friends were aware of his girlfriend's mean streak. She certainly could relate to keeping friends out of the loop to save face. Where was the line though? Would Al tell anyone if things escalated? The only thing she knew now was that Al knew she knew. And she was determined to be someone he could talk to about it.
"Do you want to talk about it over some tea? I'm just downstairs, so if I am not working you're always welcome." She paused and bit her lip, "Even if I'm not and you need someplace to be..."
Susan reached out to give him a hand to get off the ground. The situation was pitiful enough, Al didn't need to be falling apart on the floor.

There had been yelling and stomping from upstairs for quite some time now. Some days were better than others, today was the worst so far. Isis hid under the bed with the slamming of the door and Susan couldn't blame her.
She had hidden from Al's high strung girlfriend too. They stopped walking home together from office hours a bit after they met. Though she would have stopped being so chummy with him after this stunt he pulled with Barn Con and Nerdlesque with Jess. That whole fiasco was her main reasoning for leaving her neighbor to his monstrous partner for so long. She tried to justify that is was only fair he had Nora with how he treated Jess, and how he'd treat her if he knew.
But something in her heart told her to be better. Al was a good guy, maybe a bit small minded at times but he was kind. He was always kind to her.
Before she'd really made the decision, Susan found herself upstairs and kneeling down next to Al in her silken pajama set. "Hey, Al? Are you okay?"
She placed a comforting hand on his shoulder.

Character Name: Susan Webb
Title/occupation: Tavern Singer
Magick Status: Mundus
Biography:
Maybe she was good for nothing. That’s what her aunt always said. She wasn’t born into high society like the patrons of the tavern she worked in. Susan was always just a burden to her aunt after her parents left, traveling the world to never return. Still, the girl had some talent. She could sing like a song bird and lull any man to a night of comfort.
She didn’t make much, not enough to prove her aunt wrong, but she worked for what she got. And some jobs were much easier than others…

"Sure, whichever you're having is fine. Thank you," Susan responded politely. She wouldn't go out of her way to make a host serve her if they weren't also partaking. It felt rude!
"Yes, well, we try at least... though I don't think anything we come up with makes a difference in public opinion unfortunately." Susan half frowned. "Glad to know that you are enjoying it, though. And not to change the subject too much, but on the topic of the board, how do you feel about it? As an entity, me, other members specifically? I'd really like to gauge where we can improve before our next terms."

Perfect, some kid who didn't give a shit about this town and probably lacked the respect to just tell her he wasn't interested...
She had to persist. If Susan could switch someone's tune about Swynlake, it was a win for the town! She kept her smile from faltering.
"Oh, a new resident, hm? Well, welcome to Swynlake. I'm Susan Webb, I am on the town board and I also perform at the Court of Miracles. Getting used to Swynlake can take a bit, but generally everyone here is happy to help. Is there anything you'd like to know or have assistance with while I am here?"

Susan didn't know what to make of this man. He seemed friendly enough but she couldn't gauge if he was being condescending or just southern. New Orleans if she could place the accent.
Still, she smiled and went on, "Ah, I think that might be out of my purview, Sir."
The succubus let out a small chuckle, humoring him.

Susan smiled. She felt vindicated in her decision to ask around locally and casually.
"I'm glad I am taking a step in the right direction then! Are there any problems you'd like to address while I am here and potentially for my next campaign?"

At first, Susan was taken aback at that admission. A vampire. Former vampire? She'd never heard of such a thing and to be quite frank, she was surprised he hadn't shriveled into ash after being cured... Surely, his age did not show. She made note to ask about this cure later, maybe something could work for the succubus as well.
Susan let him finish before she made judgements, and smiled, flattered that he voted for her. Dark magicks were a hot topic two years ago with the vampire attack... and she had a personal connection to the things that went bump in the night.
"Thank you, I appreciate every person who got me my seat. And I'm sorry that I haven't done more for your community. I do believe you're right though, Robbie," she slouched her shoulders a bit. "I do think a lot of the board caters to Mundus safety over anyone else's. Unfortunately, I am just one piece of the puzzle so I can't guarantee legislation in favor of vampires, or other Magicks of controversy... but I can say for a fact that I would like to work in a direction that could bring those issues to light."

Susan frowned and nodded, "No, I understand completely."
Susan would be the first to admit that fear of outrage kept her from making bolder choices. She played into the politics game rather than really taking a stand for what she ran her last campaign on. She continued, "How have you been effected by the sitting board, positive or negative? I'd like to hear it all, if possible... Mr...?"

Susan smiled again, glad her foot to the pavement method was working.
"Ms. Wright, thank you. I am really trying to be more in touch with this upcoming election," she stepped in, "It's such a lovely home! As a fairly new resident, how are you finding Swynlake? I know you've had time to settle in, but it seems like even after... six, no, seven years... I am still kept on my toes."
