Batman AU

Batman tells Gordon that he doesn't kill. Thinking that it's a legality issue, Gordon deputizes Batman and gives him a gun and badge. Batman of course doesn't use the gun and just figures Gordon is stressed.

After Joker kills a Robin, Gordon starts to deputize the Batfam members.

Gordon: Next time you see that clown. Take. The. Shot. Rookie.

Robin (Tim, tiny ass 14 year old holding a 45 magnum): Umm... Yes sir?

Fanfic tiktok is wild... I see so many people saying shit like "I could never read anything below 60k!!", or "What story can you even tell in under 5k words?" or "A oneshot below 10k isn't even a story!" or "I always filter completed fics by 100k< only!"

And I'm like...

A) which fandoms are you reading fics for where you have this kind of offerings on the regular?

B) have you heard of short stories? If you truly think every story NEEDS to be longform to connect with people, I sincerely feel sorry for you.

C) Average novel length is between 50k to 100k. I'm sorry, but CONSISTENTLY demanding fic writers to push out fics of that length is insane. Just think about it: YOU DEMAND AUTHORS TO PUT OUT FICS THAT COMPARE TO COMMERCIAL NOVELS IN LENGTH (AND QUALITY) AS A BASELINE.

some ways in which learning english mostly through spn and tumblr when i was 14 has affected me:

- i thought stuff like biggerson’s and gas-n-sip were real

- i thought stanford was a fictional school they created specifically for sam in spn

- i thought kia sorento was a person

- i thought ‘kill’ ‘gank’ and ‘waste’ were like. pretty much equally used because of how much dean uses them

- i thought motels was just what people in america called hotels. i thought they just replaced the ‘h’ by a ‘m’ for some reason. just for kicks. why not

- i didn’t know ‘vessel’ could mean anything else than. well possessed person i guess. and was deeply distraught when my teacher asked me what it meant, listened to me rant about it for two minutes then went ‘its just like. a boat’

- it took me a while to realize that the word hunter was not, as a matter of fact, specifically applied to monsters

- had no idea who paris hilton was and thought they just made up a celebrity for supernatural. i repeat: i thought they created paris hilton for the cw show supernatural
