I was recently visited by Jude and we spent an afternoon drawing together. It was the first time I had drawn traditionally for as long as I can remember, so I wasn't expecting quality. But, I had fun regardless. Also, all were drawn from memory, some of which turned out well, some of which not so well. The first Coxa abomination was me trying to draw with charcoal pastels. I didn't realize they smeared so easily.

The second was my using colored pencils. Her head is a bit too small, but Maud is always beautiful.

The Pinkie is probably the one I'm most happy with. Such a sweet mare.

The fourth one is supposed to be Sweetie Belle...and I completely got her mane wrong. She also has a bit of a football head, but I like how she turned out overall. This one was me moving on to charcoal pencils and also trying Jude's technique of starting at the snout. I usually start with the skull and eyes.

The last one is a bit special because the dark black lines were done by Jude, who challenged me to finish the basic framework. I just wish that smeared charcoal wasn't so noticeably on yellow. It makes her look dirty.

Overall, traditional art is tough, especially since I've grown so used to being able to fix my mistakes with digital art. I commend traditional artists for being able to just roll with mistakes and imperfections, or draw with so much care and attention to avoid them in the first place.

Done for Valentine's Day. Tried doing something simple to test out my new tablet. There are a few growing pains, but I'm satisfied. I also needed something simple because I get 0 privacy with my mom, plus having to help take care of the puppies that her dog gave birth to about 8 weeks ago. I do enjoy lineless art, I'll probably do more of it in the future.

From the latest session of my Tails of Equestria game. Context: the group is doing a murder-mystery adventure in a fancy hotel isolated by a heavy blizzard. Things have been incredibly tough and uncertain, but based on the collective testimony, the mare in this pic (Spotless Star), is the only one with an unexplained alibi. She’s a powerful sorceress capable of teleporting, so the gang pricked her with a feather containing a sleeping potion and took her up to the penthouse, where a hex nullifies teleportation magic. They tied her up as best they could with sheets, and the session ended with them waiting for her to wake up. The blanket is shredded because the group locked the murder victim’s pet cockatrice in the bedroom earlier to contain it.

A scene from the latest session of my current Tails of Equestria game. Context: Coxa the changeling performer, leaped out from the back entrance to the storage room, shaking a stolen pet cockatrice to agitate it, and pointing it right at the hostile gargoyle Untermeyer. His attempts to get away were fruitless, and before long, he grew still as his magic stone body was turned into a mundane stone statue.

I only remembered at the last minute that the room was dark and was being lit with magic glow and had to at least attempt illumination
