Hallo πββοΈ
I realize I haven't posted here in quite some time!!
Am I braindead? Always π
Am I abandonning this fandom? No, simply taking a mental break πββοΈ
What's up? I'm in Baldur's Gate 3 brainrot hell and I'm LIVING FOR IT. π (I shitpost a lot on Twitter)
I've straightened up a lot of priorities in the last few months:
- Commissions are now forever closed. No more. Never. Nada. I am absolutely done with it. The last few ones I did over the last few months made me realize that I do not enjoy drawing for others anymore unless it's for shits and giggles, or a trade with friends. (no, do not try to be my friend to get free art. been there, done that)
- I am revisiting my deep love for medieval fantasy stuff. That is where I've always felt more creative and generally inspired. The last few drawings I did and texts I've written really reflect that. (I do plan on continuing some of my tmnt fics tho, that's for sure)
- I do not see the need to push content as much over the years. I am satisfied with doing things for myself, and frankly I've been gaining less and less traction over time because of how sporadically I post in general. The internet is really strange now with its algorithms and views and "for you" pages, etc. BLEHRG. If people find my stuff and like it, good for them. Otherwise, I post for myself or just don't post at all π€·ββοΈ as long as I'm happy, that's what matters.
- Not gonna lie, I'm also doing this to prepare myself mentally to not be so dependant of the internet and having my sole source of happiness come from it. My partner and I have some plans for the future - some which involve actually starting a family - so I know the internet cannot be a priority.
- My career is taking a lot of twists and turns. I am more involved in the video game development sphere and I'm aiming for roles up high in management. Things are moving fast this year and I might get where I want to be sooner than later. That is going to take a lot of my time and energy. So any free time I have, I want it to be for ME.
So uhhhhhhh, that's the big lines I guess.
I see lots of drama on the internet and I will have none of that. I'll stay in my bubble and enjoy my stuff however I want.
I'll post stuff to make people laugh 'cause the world is so ugly and sad these days. We need some sunshine π
Love you all π

Private Rink (Donnie x OC!Vee)
Wanted to write a quick little something, 'cause I needed some fluff π
Also, protip: never go to Manhattan during the holidays. It's a NIGHTMARE π went there once for New Year's and people are packed like sardines on the sidewalks.
Also adding this to @turtle-babe83's "#tmnt stocking stuffer" tag (nice list) 'cause it's holiday related honhonohonhonhnnn
Man, I've had a shit day today...
Wanna meet up and talk about it?
Sure. My place or yours?
Get to those coordinates and I'll meet you there.
Once Vee received an address on her phone, she quickly researched it and found that it was a building right next to the skating rink at the Rockefeller Center.
Uhhh, you sure?
There's some construction ongoing, so the spot should be free to climb on top with the current setup. Don't worry, I'll guide you!
Alrighty. I'll grab some coffees on the way.
The woman couldn't help a small sigh as she locked her phone's screen, hoping she wouldn't get into any trouble while trying to meet her boyfriend.
Grabbing her coat, she headed out from the comfort and heat of her apartment, next greeted by winter's crisp and cold air.
Keeping her promise to grab coffees, she was now holding a tray with the beverages, maneuvering around the busy crowd, packed with tourists, with her phone in hand - trying to follow up Donnie's instructions on how to get to the top of his designated building.
As she made her way up the railings and scafoldings, she did pause for a moment as snow started to fall, her eyes following fat flakes and landing on the skating rink nearby and now below her.
The scene brought a small smile to her lips. The lights, the people laughing and skating around, the immense christmas tree nearby....
She continued her path upward, finally reaching the building's top. At first she found the spot empty, resolving herself to then rest at a railing, observing the rink once again.
"You're here!" resonated a voice behind her.
As she turned around, she found the terrapin jumping from one high spot nearby, making his way towards her. But on his way he might have unnoticed a thin layer of ice that had formed on the building's top, suddenly slipping - trying to get his balance right - but ultimately falling comically on his shell and backpack.
"Oh shit!" blurted out Vee, although she couldn't help her laughter.
Still on his back, Donnie lifted a thumb up high in the air, letting out a "I'm good" as he then got back up with a grunt.
He patted some snow off his pants as he was making his way to Vee, glaring jokingly at her as she tried to calm her snicker.
"I'm sorry," she started. "That was just perfectly coordinated."
"There can indeed be comedy in one's misery."
He grabbed a coffee, Vee huffing as she solely grabbed her own cup next.
"Oh come on, I didn't mean it like that."
The turtle smiled, wrapping an arm around the woman's form and bringing her closer to his side.
"Just teasing you, love. No harm done." He nuzzled the top of her head as a proper greeting and left a gentle peck afterward. "Thanks for the coffee by the way."
Vee hummed as she was taking a sip, leaning slightly towards the other. Her eyes kept coming back to the rink, feeling peaceful by watching some solemn beauty.
"Why did you want us to meet here?" she did ask next.
"Mostly for the sight-seeing," answered Donnie. "It's so beautiful at this time of the year."
"Says you who doesn't have to go through the crowds below during the holiday season," smirked Vee. "This whole area and Broadway is a nightmare on the sidewalks."
"I'm sorry, baby. Next time I'll come pick you up with the van."
"How chivalrous!" mocked Vee.
"Only for my lady!" grinned the mutant.
They paused for more sips, the woman getting some renewed solace in this silence. The weight of today's hardships did come back to her, her sigh heavy as she then proceeded to talk about her day to the terrapin.
From the usual unnerving bits at work, the incompetence of a handful of coworkers, and the general fatigue accumulating at this time of year, Vee was starting to feel at the end of her rope. She knew she had to keep moving forward, but on several occasions she only wanted to drop down and sleep for many, many hours.
Donnie was a patient listener, only interjecting whenever it felt right. He knew the woman was not necessarily looking for solutions, but rather to just empty her bag and vent it all out. He did some small jokes here and there in his comments, trying to light the mood up - successfully bringing a soft smile to Vee's features.
"Thanks for being here. For listening to me," added Vee, her hand finding Donnie's free one - both of them having discarded their cups some moments ago. Their fingers locked, at best they could anyway.
Donnie brought the top of her hand to his lips, leaving a gentle kiss. "Always. There's nowhere else I'd rather be."
Bringing her arm down, he then stood behind her, keeping his hold around her as he wanted to keep her warm as well.
Vee sighed dreamily, her eyes following some couples on the ice below.
"... I wish we could skate down there," she commented. "I used to skate on ice a lot when I was a kid. It's always been so nice."
Donnie's features brightened up, his toughts reminding him of a detail.
"Well, what do you know! We do have our own private rink."
Vee looked up to him, confused. The turtle simply tightened his hold around her, lifting her a little as he turned around and brought her attention to his earlier accident.
"We have ice!" he declared happily.
Vee laughed: "I swear, if you make me fall, no more kisses for a month."
He moved away from her, towards the ice. He extended a hand to her as an invitation.
"Don't worry," he smiled. "At least now I know what's awaiting us."
She faked annoyance, but it was quickly discarded as she grabbed his hand and followed him.
The ice patch wasn't that big, but it was decent enough to slide in some steps and get some laughters out of them. The feel was definitely different with boots rather than ice skates, but that was still enough for Vee's heart to swell with joy.
As the ambient music from the rink below sounded a calm holiday tune, the couple gently bumped into one another, Donnie quick to stabilize the woman against him.
Snow was still falling, peppering them with white flakes whenever they'd keep still.
"Stand on my feet," proposed the mutant.
"I won't hurt you?" asked Vee.
"Do you seriously think you're too heavy for me?"
"I was just being polite!"
"Oh right, you're Canadian, you can't help it," slightly laughed Donnie.
Vee lightly slapped his arm, which brought more chuckles from the other. She did step on his feet, as asked, and promptly brought her arms around his neck as she felt him slide slowly on the ice, his arms still around her.
This moment felt out of time, the rooftop filled with some laughters here and there. Locking eyes did bring a renewed comfortable silence between them both, their sliding now more akin to a slow dance. One of Vee's hands did slide from his neck to his cheek, her thumb tenderly going over his scales, her gaze soft as she kept admiring his features.
"Je t'aime....," she quietly said.
The terrapin slightly leaned into her touch, the same feeling passing through him.
"I love you too, baby."
He moved some snow out of her hair, churring lightly as he noticed her frame getting colder.
"I'll get you home," he added. "S'time to warm up."
She couldn't agree more.
