Rhydon, if you ever met another General who harbors gay feelings for their liege but they appear to be already taken by a lovely wife who also deserves them, what advice would you give them?
"First, I'd be impressed that it actually happened to someone else besides me. Second, I'd tell them to move on."
"What?! Why?"
"Nidoking, it took your wife dying and you going through a horrid spell of depression for my feelings to be made clear to you. If anyone else is going through that exact scenario, I think they would be happier if they found someone else, rather than hoping that their liege loses their partner and becomes terribly vulnerable."
"Ok, that is a fair point. But, you also tried that, did you not? You can't tell me that you gave up on other potential love interests just for me...did you?"
"...Not strictly because I was in love with you, but...I did put my duty to you foremost. Though, on the other hand, I didn't quite pair off well with the others that I tried to move on with...and I am much happier with you."

The moment you see Nidoking liking Dimitri then go to Tyranitar and see Edelgard. Is this foreshadowing? Also Empoleon over here with my favorite lord! Penguin has great taste.
"...Oh, you'll understand that foreshadowing in time. It may not be entirely what you're expecting, but...there's some history to be found between these two."
"Meanwhile, this best dad is confirmed to like the best dad from those rosters. Naturally fitting, of course."

Does anyone in the Grass Kingdom have a favorite Fire Emblem Character? You guys give me the feeling of an army that the protagonist gains throughout the game. Would that make Nidoking the protag and Rhydon the retainer?
"Look, Nidoking may be the monarch you follow the most, but I'm not quite certain if he's the main protagonist material you're searching for. ...He might be safer if he isn't..."
"Rhydon, you did start as a retainer for me, prior to becoming my general, did you not? This might be accurate after all!"
"...No...gods, no...! Well...maybe he'll be a big hero after all, which would certainly be nice. Hmm...how often do the retainers get together with the lords...?"
((I feel like Fire Emblem's too big to go over everyone having a single favorite character from, but...let's give it a shot...

Absomasnow, how good do you think Empoleon is with kisses with a beak like his?
"...Why would you direct such a dangerous question to me?"
"Explain to me what's so dangerous about this, General."
"Ahaha, well...which answer is least likely to get me into trouble...?"

Carracosta, any plans for Father’s Day?
"...Wait, am I the only dad around here?"
"Besides your husband, that being me, and perhaps whatever Nidoking and Rhydon count for, regarding their relationship to Golurk, who isn’t even a child, yes, love, you are the go-to dad of this group."
"Hey! Our ghost golem boy is pure and precious! Rhydon and I absolutely count as parents, even if that's only acknowledged here and in my dreams! Oh, and Empoleon may or may not be crying in the corner."
"Huh. Well, we didn't do too much. I spent the day at home rather than at the palace, and so, I got to play with my little squirt!"
"Me?"
"Of course you, kiddo! Ha! Ah, brightened my whole day, just spending time with the family. Oh, and we baked cookies too!"
"And worked on home expansion. And looked into other spots to put the igloo instead. And trained with each other, went out shopping, chatted much longer with neighbors than usual...oh, and not to mention that I'm the one who did all of the cooking. Even though you told me that you were going to after passing out for Nap Central twice on me last year, which you were borderline ready to repeat this year too, and even though I'm also supposed to be celebrating the holiday with our son too, yet I still ended up—"
"Reading bedtime stories! Squirtle loves how you read them, way better than me! Did I mention that my husband is the greatest ever? He helped make this daddy have an even more wonderful day!"
"...You're lucky that you're cute, or so help me..."
"Yay, best dads ever!"

Surprise, it’s the alternate link’s proper posting!
This will be the third of four installments for the Bluebells saga. It continues the events that Greninja and Chesnaught are part of, as their romance descends into the mystery and war of the kingdoms around them.
This story will take a wider scope though, which you’ll understand by reading this chapter. (Explaining here spoils the fun while reading the first chapter, even for veteran readers!) So, it’ll be a big and slow project, but hopefully fun!
Anyway, not much else for me to add. The excerpt below is a bit of a spoiler for this chapter, so, read at your risk! And enjoy.

Ok, time for the first of the better postings.
Pokemon fanfic readers! This is the first chapter for the next part of the Bluebells saga, Fading Wind Violets! It picks up shortly after the previous story, Melting Gelid Roses, as the next part of the story sets the new stage.
Like the other stories, it’ll be a romance/drama mix in a fantasy medieval setting. It follows Greninja and Chesnaught’s story mainly, but this story will change the formula and expand the depth of the cast.
Haven’t got much more to add than that, since the Author Notes cover the rest, so, excerpt is below!

“...Well, we are supposed to be coming up again soon. Next chapter, possibly. As for things being resolved, um...I guess we’ll see about that too...”
“I am now horribly aware of being paired off with Typhlosion by many posts and I am currently having my mind melt over not getting it! Ahahahaha! Why?”
How are Samurott and Typhlosion doing after the events of Melting Gelid Roses? I always looked forward in seeing those two coming up and hope to see if they resolve their problem sometime in the future. With this third story being romance bases, I'm wishing to see volcanic shipping happen.

“Yeah, Nidoking! What did you do to make so many people angry? Hmm?”
“Aha, uhhh...younger me was a little more, um...shall we call it, ‘bold,’ with his suggestive advances toward...everyone?”
“Let’s just say that Nidoking was something of a bad boy when he was younger, and didn’t play very well with the hearts of others.”
“Gentle reminder that I’m the bad boy that you fell for.”
“Painful reminder that you didn’t notice for decades!”
“Well, I am kind of an idiot, so...that.”
I'm happy to hear that the newest installment of the Bluebells saga and get to revisit all of the characters again! Just finished it and got some questions to ask for the characters. What did Nidoking do to get so many lords and ladies not liking him? He might be neutral with Tsareena but she really dug into him there and didn't respect him all that much in the beginning. From the flashback with Rhydon, it looks like he had a habit of saying the wrong things.

“Oh wow, are we up again already?”
“Sure looks that way.”
“Ah, I’m looking forward to this story. Let’s take the stage, Rhydon!”
“Wait, we’re going to what now? Hold on. Nidoking, wait!”
“Wait, but I thought it was our story.”
“...Yeah, but also, I don’t mind sharing the spotlight...”
Coming Soon: Bluebells 3: FWV
Ok, I was debating on when to release the next Pokemon fanfic story, since I finished the first chapter, and while I was goofing around, I noticed a pattern that was coincidentally happening with the days and months on most versions.
Each one has a number “2” involved with the original publish and completion dates, barring the MGR port to AO3 (technically not the story’s original date).
So, I thought that was cute, with “2” in dates, besides the year! (Each month or day for the story involves that number.) Main pair is a couple, so it’s 2 for them. “Two” rhymes with “blue,” which is the color symbolism for each flower. And now that I know there’s a pattern, I can’t not follow it!
Therefore, the release date for Fading Wind Violets will be Saturday, June 12th, to coincide with the other stories. And, unlike the first two, this will be the same start date for both FFN and AO3 versions!
For the word count without the author notes, it’s already clocking in at 7k, so, it’s a fairly sizeable read to start. I’ll be aiming to get the 2nd chapter done over the summer, but as always, no promises.
That’s all until later. I hope you’re looking forward to it!

Okay after some time and consideration I have to ask, who would win in a fight? Empoleon or Nidoking?
"Me, of course!"
"Naturally, I would."
"Friendship alliance over. We're going to war now."
"Dear, let's not do that."
"No, he's right. We have to fight to prove our honor."
"With what fractured resources?! In fact, with what army?!"
"No army required. I'll dispatch him with my own abilities."
"Yeah, good luck with that. I'll pulverize you easily!"

So Greninja, how’s Chesnaught’s bulking been going so far? I’m dying to know
“Unfortunately, he has not allowed me to make him thicker. Not yet anyway.”
“Please don’t say it like that.”
“Look, we make you bigger, so you’re thick. I can control water, so I add the juicy. How do you not see this as a winning scenario?”
“Wait, I’m thick, and you’re...I’m mad that you made me think of that.”
“But WHY???”

Still questioning myself why they didn’t listen to golduck and just kill exploud :/
“Right? Honestly. If you see someone causing a problem, you don’t reason with them. It’s life and death, you kill them first. Why give them a chance?”
“How did you ever get so ruthless?”
“I was born beautiful.”

What would some of the knights or monarchs do if they weren’t well, working for the castle..?
“Well, I don’t imagine it would be—”
“Probably living a nice domestic life with my husband-to-be in a nice cottage off in the outer woods of the kingdom’s borders. We’d have a lovely garden and he could finally have time to help me practice cooking. Quite likely lots of kissing and hand holding as well.”
“Actually, you know what? That’s extremely interesting, precious, adorable, and I want that more now.”
“Lovesick fools.”
“Somebody sounds jealous...!”
“Am not! ...To answer the question, I’d likely be a researcher. Hopefully that would be a safer climate to raise my family in.”
“Huh. This is a good question. Maybe I’d figure out what to do with my life and understand my personal interests better.”
“Oh hey, that’s a great idea! Me too!”
“You guys sound more depressing than my voice, and that’s saying something.”
“Raising a family sounds nice! ...And you’d get to be home, dear.”
“Nice try, but you’re not fooling me with that one.”
“Domestic living with the husband and son would be ideal!”
“Probably work at a library.”
“May I join you?”
“Sure, that’d be a perfect fit for you.”
“This feels like it’d take forever to go through for everyone...I wonder how many folks I could recruit to my personal fan club instead!”

If all of the characters had actual names what would they be?
((Oh hey, funny that you brought this up!
On my main blog, I answered something like this question a few years ago. I didn’t think anyone was interested, but then last month, someone asked for more on them! So, these links have my ideas.
Unfortunately, I don’t have time right now to write up every single character’s names, but those explain the process. Hope you enjoy!))

So how does one become a knight? Is there like an exam where you have to do a mission or beat someone in a sparring match? Just curious to see what Lilligant will be up against.
“We’ve got a few different ways that folks join our ranks. Missions, inheritance, strength or combative contests, bribery, and even volunteers! The four major monarchs aren’t particularly picky, and they’ll accept any kind of applicant.”
“...Who told you that I wanted to be a knight?! I’m a mage at best!”
“...Oh. Huh. Well, that makes a lot more sense.”
