There’s one specific gif that people use on this website sometimes. That’s literally a gif of someone I know and played soccer with for multiple years of my life. And it’s off-putting EVERY SINGLE TIME
making their own subscription streaming service was incredibly stupid, however i do think the people calling those working at watcher rich simply have 0 idea just how fucking EXPENSIVE it is to not just live in LA, but rent out a separate filming space, not even including the equipment and all the people they need to pay.
and i don't understand the take that they shouldn't have so many employees anyways, because i thought we all agreed that more employees = not overworking a small team = better? this decision is stupid and there are very clear arguments against it, but this isn't one of them.
to be as charitable as i can be, in their minds, they're probably trying to make this money not just because youtube doesn't pay well and is entirely unreliable, among other complaints, but because they don't want to fire anyone because those are their friends, and putting your friends out of a job just sucks for everyone involved. even if everyone acts like mature proffessional adults about it, it's not a fun process. they want to avoid that. they SHOULD just accept the situation for what it is, but it's understandable imo why they are trying so hard to avoid it.
they want to make the stuff they want to make, they want to be paid decently for it, they want to make sure their friends are paid decently and have stable income. none of that is inherently bad. this is just the entirely wrong way to go about it. i sincerely think it's not necessarily about greed, more that on paper it sounded far more practical than it actually is, and if they'd discussed it with anyone outside the team they would have seen how dumb it is. the fact is, it doesn't matter how much a subscription costs, there are infinitely more people unwilling to pay a fucking monthly fee than there are people willing to pay even $1 to access shit they already had free access to.
also, i see yall saying incredibly racist shit about Steven in response to this, and it's entirely blatant and disgusting. you do not need to play into anti-asian stereotypes when criticizing someone. this is undeniably a shitty move, there's 0 reason to not hold them all equally accountable when it's clear they all came to a consensus on this. you are, of course, being the easiest on Shane, the white guy of the team. cut that out.
when he enters a room calling for someone but the room is empty so he just trails off their name and goes "... isnt. here?" like who r u saying that to sweet pea
"aw. :("
*growls*
when he's trying to piss someone off and u can FEEL his shit-eating grin
when he zones back in from an inner monologue
"... what."
voice cracks when he's upset giving him away so instantly
absolute shit pair of lungs. he's wheezing after 1 (one) flight of stairs
when he gets called out and starts sulking like the big baby he is
how easy it is for him to get caught up in a moment. see: him joining in on this "time for lunch" riot in the infernal grind, the countless times he's ignored the rest of the world because he's "on a roll", how easily he fell in with the aurinko family
