I would just like to formally apologize to everyone who follows me for more fics and I’ve yet to write anything since sometime last year- thank you, I appreciate you all, sorry to keep you all constantly waiting lmao one day, I promise, there’ll be more fics.  Head is currently full of (movie)Jace Wayland and Eddie Munson, so aside from Douxie, there’s a slim chance there could be a fic for them sometime in the (probably not anytime near) future.

Pillow Forts & Fairy Lights || One-Shot | Hisirdoux Casperan x GN!Reader
Summary: What’s better to relax and celebrate making it through another week of living than a cozy pillow fort, snacks and movies with your favourite person?
Word Count: 1501

Douxie's had a closing shift at the café again and it being a Friday meant he had the weekend free, so you decide to start the weekend off like any not normal normal couple would.
Pulling the cushions off your couch and stacking them up with blankets and bedsheets with chairs holding it all up from the sides, you found that you’d made a pretty stable fort base if you did so say yourself. Next, you pulled out some fairy lights from your room and strung them up around the inside of the fort to the best of your ability. A little bit of tape and some twist ties got you a long way.
The fort itself stretched off the couch and over the floor, your kitchen island bar stools holding up the later.
Once you'd moved into the apartment, your inflow of blankets had come with you, so there never really was a shortage. Douxie had always complained about being cold. You’d sure solved that problem. You used them to build a sort of platform or mat on the floor off the couch on the floor, and on the couch you did the same. It was already beginning to look and feel like a cozy little warm igloo in there. The "top floor" of the fort had a mountain of your favourite blankets, as you had not been willing to sacrifice them to the floor.
You checked the clock and your text messages to see that Douxie was just finishing up closing at work now, which meant you still had a little time before he got home. You clambered out from the opening of the fort and took a step back to admire your handy work. Nodding in satisfaction at its interior and deeming it acceptable and some quick adjustments to fix the exterior to your liking, you set off to the kitchen for your next mission: snacks.
Rifling through the cabinets, you settled on some Doritos and Smartfood, as well as some candy bars and gummies you'd bought earlier. You scooped all the goods into your arms and shuffled back over to the fort, trying your best not to drop anything on the way there. Multiple trips were for suckers.
Was the couch right in front of the tv? Yes. Did that mean you could be in the couch fort while watching said tv? Not particularly.
Having planned this, you pulled out your laptop and strung it's cord through the mass of pillows and blankets to sit on the top level of the fort on the only neatly stacked pile of blankets. Next, you hauled all the snacks that you’d promptly dropped at the entrance to the fort, into the lower level blanket lair and turned off the lights to save them for the grand reveal of your evening plans for when Douxie got home.
Archie made himself comfortable inside, which you didn't mind one bit. He was always good company, so even though you thought it to be like a little date night, you had no problem with sharing the space with the familiar.
You didn't plan to watch any specific movies or show, you just figured you'd both decide together and figure it out later when he got home. You also ended up leaving the drink choices alone for when he got back. You assumed he'd want tea after a long day at work, but you could never be too sure.
It wasn’t much longer until you heard footsteps outside the apartment door and the jingling of keys as Douxie unlocked the door. It wasn't a rare occurrence for him to step into a completely dark apartment. Sometimes you’d fall asleep somewhere while the sun was still out and just hadn't turned any lights on before it set. Other times he'd just find you in your room hunched over your device and lit up by only the glow of your phone or laptop. Once in a while though, he'd find a little glowing orbs of your magic to light the way to your room, where he’d find you reading surrounded by a handful of them. Almost like you sat in a field of oversized fireflies.
He much preferred the last one as it made him worry less about you damaging your eyesight. Not to mention you always looked so peaceful reading there in your magical light, mind in another world as you read the story you held in your hands.
Today however, he was greeted with the first option. Pitch darkness was the only thing to welcome him home. Not even Archie came to greet him. Some friend he was.
Of course the wizard wasn't aware that his familiar was currently snoozing away in a fort hidden by said darkness, but still.
He heard a faint shuffling from somewhere in the living room, followed by your voice welcoming him home and asking him how his day was.
"Sorry for the darkness! I made us a surprise though! C’mere,"
He felt your hand grab his and you pulling him slightly to lead him across the room.
"Just oneee second-!"
There was a bit of a pause and a little more shuffling before little lights sprouted up under the roof of the fort. Their brightness dimmed by the bed sheets made them look like a bunch of glowworms in their living room. The fairy lights illuminated the room just enough for Douxie to be able to make out the fort and the shapes of everything inside it.
"I thought a couch fort-movie night was a good way to celebrate the weekend and making it through another week of customer service."
The glow from the fort now gave enough light for him to make out the grin on your face.
He couldn't help but smile back at the thoughtful gesture, "Thank you love, it's perfect."
"Archie's already in there and made himself at home by the way, hope you don't mind."
You crouched down to crawl through the entrance and into the fort. "You gonna stand out there by yourself all night or what?"
Douxie smiled again as the lights lit up your silhouette under the sheets, just enough for him to see you waving him in.
"Oh wait almost forgot, sorry hold on," You crawled back out, heading for the kitchen to get drinks. "Tea?"
"Sure thing, darling."
You smiled back as you filled the kettle with water and set it to boil. “Oh go on, don’t be shy. Make yourself comfy and I’ll be right over.” “I’m going, I’m going.” He chuckled lightly, putting his hands up in defense as he crawled into the fort.
You may or may not have magicked your way to boiling water to save time, but soon enough you poured your cups of tea and returned to the fort in the living room. What? Magic may not be a permissible shortcut to hard work, but it wasn’t you who was Merlin’s apprentice after all.
You dropped bags of your favourite tea into travel mugs, just to be safe, and poured in the hot water before bringing them back over to the fort in your living room.
“Do me a favour and hold these for me for a second please?” You stuck your arms into the fort, holding the travel mugs out to Douxie who chuckled and took them from you as you’d asked.
“No problem,” he said.
“Thanksss,” you said, shimmying your way into the fort with various noises of struggle. To which, your wizard simply laughed at in amusement.
“You alright there, love? Having trouble getting into your own fortress?”
“Ha ha, very funny.” You made extra effort to take up as much space as possible once you’d reached him.
Archie protested slightly as you both shuffled around trying to make yourselves comfortable, but eventually settled back down once you'd done the same. As you discussed movie options, you'd eventually settled on a new fantasy release and curled up at Douxie's side. He wrapped an arm around you while you pulled up a blanket and buried yourself further into his chest, making yourself cozy.
Douxie wasn't one for confined spaces, but having you right next to him in a fort you'd made with love for him made him feel much more at peace. You shared the snacks you'd previously brought in while sipping your tea and enjoying the movie together.
The movie however, was rather long. And though it was good, that didn't help keep the two of you awake after a long day of work. You fell asleep in his arms probably just after halfway through the movie, and he fell asleep not long after.
Archie had made his way onto your lap by the time the movie credits rolled around and promptly curled up where he sat, glad that his wizards were home. The three of you stayed like this the rest of the night, in the company of each other and under the cover of bedsheets and artificial stars.

Fizzy Cider || One-Shot | Hisirdoux Casperan x plantonic!Reader
Summary: It’s probably not the best idea to leave your fellow wizard roommate alone to their potions. You never know what they could be doing to your apartment - nevermind whatever they’re brewing.

Douxie could hear the clinking of glass all the way from the downstairs level of the bookstore.
"What on earth are they doing up there-"
He peered slightly up at the balcony level and to where the bookstore led to his apartment, as if he'd be able to see what was going on up there from where he stood. A customer found their way into GDT Arcane Books, but just as Douxie turned to ask how he could be of service, there was a shattering of glass from upstairs followed by an "Oh. Well that's not good-" From his roommate.
He glanced upwards worriedly, only to see a fog rolling out from under the apartment door. "Uhm, if you'll excuse me for.. just a minute." He told the customer, before racing up the stairs. The customer must have also taken note of the concern on the wizard's face and the cloud slowly spreading across the floor and over the balcony. She took one look at the whole thing as Douxie disappeared up the stairs and slowly backed out of the bookstore.
Douxie knocked on the door to the apartment lightly, calling into the foggy mist, "Hey (Y/n)- you alright up here, love?"
Their voice responded to him from somewhere within the apartment, "Oh yeah! It's good! I'm good. It's good. Don't worry, it's not toxic. It's mostly dry ice. Mostly."
There was a shuffling, followed by a, "Come in, come in!"
The wizard was only mildly afraid of what he'd open the door to, but nonetheless, he wouldn't believe that they hadn't blown themself up without seeing for himself. He conjured up an orb of light to give him a better field of vision through the mist as he tried to find his roommate.
"In the kitchen!" They called as they saw his blue magic light up the room from the door.
"What did we say about potions during working hours-" Archie had made his way up from the bookstore as well to see what all the fuss was about.
"You saiiiiid... not to do it?" He could hear them laughing softly from wherever they were.
"I only say that because of how they, how do I say, turn out sometimes. Not that I don't love whatever you conjure up- what exactly is it that you're conjuring up?"
"Oh well you see," their voice was suddenly much closer than it had been moments ago, an arm emerged from the mist to grab a hold of Douxie's sweater to lead him to their workspace.
"I was going to try making some of those.. what are they? The never ending flavor things from Willy wonka? Yeah those. But, BUT, then I wanted to carbonate some apple cider and thought it would be cool to put some dry ice cubes in,"
"For some, ya'know, extra flare!"
They gestured some vague jazz hands at the last word, but it was hard to make out from all the fog, though it had begun to clear.
"Ahuh... yes I see that. But darling, exactly how much dry ice did you use...?"
"Okay so fun story."
"Okay, listening, waiting for the fun part to kick in."
They elbowed him gently and the two of them let out a chuckle.
"I know dry ice never does," they gestured around at the clouded apartment, vaguely hoping no cops outside saw this and thought you were running some illegal operation in here, "this. But, I'll get to that, hold on."
"I started with two little cubes and it made the cider bubble and ya'know, fog over like a little potion - it was really cool - but then I thought, HEY, if this is what dry ice does by itself, then what would magic do to it???"
"I'm guessing it does this."
"Bingo!"
Douxie tried to cover up his amused laugh with a sigh of disappointment, only to fail miserably.
"Isn't it  c o o l???"
"Yes (Y/n), it's very cool. I'm glad you're having a fun ti- why are you putting your potion ingredients in the fridge-"
The apartment had begun to clear up just enough for him to make out their figure carrying all their little glass bottles over to the fridge.
"To be faiiiiir, these aren't my potion ingredients. It's just the fizzy cider in little bottles!"
"Now those, over there," They pointed to the area next to the toaster, "are my potion ingredients."
(Y/n) sounded so pleased with themself and Douxie couldn't help but smile, despite his apartment being filled with a cloud of dry ice. It was clearing up, for sure, but that wasn't the point.
"Which also to be fair, are going in the fridge once I find space for these ones." They jingled the little bottles in their hand to emphasize them going into the fridge.
"(Y/n) what did I say about needing to put your potion ingredients in the fridge?"
"That it's better to pickle the tadpole tails so they'll last longer outside of refrigeration in the event that our fridge breaks down?"
"I- no. The other thing."
"C'mon Doux! They're on my side of the fridge! And they're small too, not taking up too much space."
"No (Y/n)- your spices don't need to be refrigerated-"
"Ohhhh yes yes, that part. But listen, they're not your average mortal spices! They're magically enchanted spices!" They made ghost noises as if to somehow get the point across. "So, they need to be kept cooooold." They paused for a moment, blinking at him while he peered back in amusement. "Anyways, want some of the fizzy cider????"
Douxie sighed in defeat, rubbing his temples from the whole ordeal.
It wasn't dealing with them that was the problem, the problem was that it wasn't even noon yet.
And this was the second time this week.
It was tuesday.
He didn't actually even have that much of a problem with the potion ingredients in the fridge. It just bothered him to open it only to be greeted with dozens of little jars filled with spices and dried herbs that didn't need to be in there.
They just didn't need to be refrigerated.
It bothered him that they weren't supposed to be in there, and yet, there they were, plain as day. He sighed again before taking you up on your offer of fizzy cider.
"Sure, might as well try the cause of all this."
Luckily enough by now the fog had cleared enough for him to be able to see again without thinking something was vaguely wrong with his eyes.
(Y/n) chuckled while pouring him a glass and putting a very small little cube of dry ice in it before passing it over. Then they poured themself a glass, not having tried it yet since they couldn't find where the cups were in all that mess.
"Cheers!"
Douxie laughed softly as he clinked his glass with (Y/n)’s, glad to see that they were at least enjoying this whole ordeal.

last reblog of this cause I try to keep this blog to just writing (go visit my regular account if you wanna see regular reblogs and stuff from me)
but I’m assuming the people who like this are agreeing that they’d wanna see this??
so I've gotten into the Once Upon A Time fandom for,, Douxie related reasons (for those of you who don't know, his VC plays a character in there, a pirate might I add) and I started for Douxie and stayed for Hook (the character he plays)
My question is, would anyone be interested if I wrote things for Hook/Killian Jones?

Quiet Radio & Travel Mugs of Tea || One-Shot | Hisirdoux Casperan x GN!Reader

Tumblr media
Douxie awoke to the sound of quiet tapping and movement coming from the kitchen of your shared apartment. His room was dark and the door was closed, but he could faintly see a soft warm glow creeping in under the door's crack.
He took notice that you weren't with him in bed like you usually were, so he got up to investigate. Rubbing the sleep from his eyes and slipping on his house slippers, he made his way into the kitchen to find you shuffling about with a kettle on the stove.
"(Y/N)..? What are you doing up darling? It's 4 in the morning-" his voice was still thick with sleep as he spoke softly to you, as not to wake Archie and Nari on the couch nearby.
You jumped slightly, not realizing he'd come into the room.
"I couldn't sleep, the sound of the city is too loud- it’s taking awhile to get used too," you admitted, pulling your favourite mug from the cupboard. "I didn't wake you did I? Sorry if I did- I was trying to be quiet." You dropped a tea bag into your mug while chuckling softly, "Tea?"
"No no, don't worry. You didn't wake me, I was already kind of up from the noise as well."
It was partially true, partially a lie.. You hadn't been what woke him, he was naturally a light sleeper from all the years on the street in Camelot, and now with always having to be aware of his surroundings to protect Nari, he wasn't much better.
"And yes to tea, please." You nodded, pulling his regular tea from the shelf alongside his favourite mug.
"Yeah, it's certainly nothing like Arcadia, is it?" You asked, turning off the flame on the stove before the kettle had a chance to whistle and wake up the others.
"Hah.. no, not at all. It's going to take awhile getting used to I suppose.."
"Hey, why don't we go on a drive, like we used to?" He offered suddenly, stopping you from pouring the hot water into your cups. Instead, he reached for your travel mugs and tossed the teabags into them instead. "Tea to go," he told you with a smile and a shrug.
"I don't know, it's kind of late and I'm not really in the mood to drive.." You mumbled in your odd state of tiredness. You may not have been able to sleep and were awake because of the noise, but that didn't mean you were aware enough to be driving on the road.
"I'll drive," he told you, smiling softly as he took the kettle from your hands. "So what do you say? I can ask Archie to watch Nari while we're out, and we won’t be gone long. I can take us away from the noise of the city for a while, get us some peace and quiet?" he put the kettle down and made his way over to you, draping himself over your shoulders in an attempt to persuade you.
"Ughh, fine." You chuckled lightly, unable to refuse his request as he seemingly melted into a blob, putting all his weight on you as he leaned. "You wake Archie and I'll get the tea."
"Love you~" he said, giving you a quick kiss on the cheek before going to wake up the familiar.
"Love you too," you smiled at him, rolling your eyes slightly at the wizard and his cute but strange antics.
As promised, you made your teas and screwed the lids onto the travel mugs before going to get one of Douxie's hoodies from your bedroom.
He came back out to see you pulling on your favourite hoodie of his, "Still living in that one, eh?"
"Well it is my favourite," he chuckled, smiling at you in his clothes.
"Though it is starting to lose it's smell, so you should probably take it back for a bit."
"Duly noted."
You exchanged smiles as you handed him his tea. He held the apartment door open for you on your way out, bowing his head with a soft ‘after you.’
You eventually plopped yourselves down in the car, you in the passenger and Douxie behind the wheel just as he'd promised. He started up the car and began making his way out of the city. From the passenger seat, you quietly sipped your tea while flipping through the radio stations to see what odd things were playing at this hour. You had also flipped the seat warmer on. It wasn't a particularly cold night, you just liked being warm and cozy, even in the car.
Eventually you settled on a station that was playing instrumental and acoustic versions of current popular songs, it seemed to fit the feel for tonight's spontaneous night drive.
The music being without its regular words most of the time left room for you and Douxie to fill the space with your own voices. Douxie sang along softly to the songs that played, while you did a little more humming as you enjoyed hearing his voice. That and you were also tired enough that you didn't want to put forth the energy to formulate the words you knew so well.
You kicked off your shoes and curled your legs up under you and onto the warmth of the seat.
Douxie smiled sweetly at you as you peered out the window, watching the world around you grow darker and quieter the further you drove from the city. You could still see the dazzling lights of the Big Apple behind you through the side view mirrors, but they were much less bright than actually being there.
The both of you took sips of your tea between humming and singing along with the music.
You drove for a while, as far from the city as you could get in a short amount of time (and still at a safe speed, mind you). Eventually you'd begun nodding off, welcoming the silence in comparison to the noise from the bustling streets of New York.
You pulled up the hood of your jacket to shield your eyes from any remaining light as you curled yourself up further in the heated passenger seat.
When Douxie had noticed that you'd begun nodding off, he turned the volume on the radio down a little bit and started humming instead of singing.
You ended up completely falling asleep at the end of the next song.
Douxie smiled at you, glad that you were finally able to get some rest.
He drove for a little longer before turning around and bringing the both of you back to the city.
The time of day meant less cars on the road and less noise to return to, but the large city never really slept. Lights still shone bright, even at this hour as they lit up billboards for all to see.
Your travel mugs once filled with tea were now empty, so he figured it would be okay to leave them in the car until tomorrow, seeing as he wouldn't have the hands to grab them when he needed them free to carry you back up to your apartment.
Once he’d parked the car, your wizard did his best to not wake you as he pulled you from the warmth of the car and into his arms.
He’d thought you were out cold but you still reached to hold onto him as he carried you from the car to your room. He couldn't help but smile at you, you looked so peaceful while you were asleep.
You were kind of coherent enough to process that you were in and out of sleep and that Douxie was taking you back upstairs but not exactly awake enough to get yourself there.
The hood you’d previously pulled up to shield yourself from the light was still up, he thought you looked quite cute wrapped in his hoodie.
He let Archie know that he was home once he returned to your flat, locking the door and making sure the protection wards were back up before bringing you to your room and tucking you in under the covers of your duvet. He did a quick security sweep of the apartment before crawling into bed next to your sleeping figure.
Douxie wrapped his arms around you and pulled you close. After a bit of driving and a few cups of tea, he was glad that you were finally able to get a good night's sleep. Now he could finally sleep knowing that you were getting rest as well.
You snuggled into the warmth of his touch as he pulled you to his chest, happy to be home.
Inevitably, Archie and Nari would wake the two of you up in a few hours just after sunrise, but until then at least the two of you would get some much needed sleep.

"Oh, well that's new-" || One-Shot | Hisirdoux Casperan x GN!Reader
Summary: You pick up an accent in your years apart and Douxie can’t help but catch feelings for you all over again.
Word Count: 2050
Warnings: None...? I don’t remember- please correct me if I’m wrong
A/N: This is the first thing I’ve written in years so I hope it’s alright and that you enjoy it! ^^; Special thank you to my handful of lovely beta readers for helping me out ! <3
Tumblr media
You’d known Merlin’s apprentice Douxie since the old wizard had taken him in. You yourself weren’t studying under him, but he liked you around as an extra set of hands for when he couldn’t take the lute playing of his new apprentice anymore.
“You’re Hisirdoux, right?” You’d asked the first time you’d come across the boy.
“Ah, yeah. Douxie’s just fine though.. I feel like I’m in trouble for something if you call me by my full name.” The wizard had let out a nervous laugh. You laughed along with him as you understood exactly what he’d meant. “And you’re (Y/N), right?”
“Mhm! (Y/N), that’s me! How’re you liking the job so far? Merlin’s pretty demanding, isn’t he.”
Douxie nodded along as you spoke. “You could say that, yes. It’s a little tedious right now, but I’m sure I’ll fall into the swing of things, preferably sooner than later.”
“I can imagine so, you seem like you pick up on things rather quickly.” He’d only been working under Merlin for a short while, but you’d already noticed his readiness to work and desire to please his master. He made no time in making sure the tasks that were asked of him were completed the way Merlin liked them. That was, to the best of his abilities at least.
“Hah, it’s what I do.” Douxie was reluctant to leave, it was nice talking to someone that wasn’t Merlin. To him, you were like a breath of fresh air. “It’s nice.. knowing I have someone friendly like you around the castle.” He smiled gratefully, turning to return to his duties.
“Casperan,” you called, catching him before he left. “Don’t be shy to reach out to me if you ever need anything, okay? Even for the simplest things, I’m happy to listen.” You returned his smile, him nodding in a silent agreement to take you up on that offer before he left.
And he did. For years, the two of you would go to each other for anything and everything. You looked forward to his ranting about Merlin (complete with impressions and additional remarks from his familiar Archie) the same way he looked forward to you coming to him in the dead of night to explain your latest and strangest dreams.
The apprentice and you grew quite close as the decades and centuries passed you by. You considered one another as best friends, but with the end of the age of Camelot, and Merlin being put to sleep, things weren’t like they used to be.
Before he’d been sealed into his tomb for who knows how long, the master wizard had given Hisirdoux a list of various things to complete and collect before he returned. Some of the things on the list were rather… questionable- and others were quite dangerous to say the least. Douxie didn’t want to drag you into it, arguing that he was Merlin’s apprentice, not you. He’d much rather know you were safe and far away from his responsibilities than have you along for the ride. Of course he wasn’t opposed to the later, he just wouldn’t be able to let you get caught in harm's way. You meant too much to him.
The two of you eventually parted ways, him on his way to completing his tasks, and you on your way to… who knows where really. Travel the world? Yeah sure, let’s go with that.

You traveled for a while, enjoying the things the world had to offer, and avoiding the more problematic events that sprung into existence. For the most part, you kind of minded your own business, going about your daily life as any immortal would, only stepping in when something peaked your interest.
A few centuries later, you found yourself living in a cottage of a small village in the countryside of Scotland. It was beautiful. The stonework of the buildings reminded you of Camelot. How you missed the castle there and the people you’d befriended. The over-eager-lute-playing apprentice in particular. You smiled, remembering him and the long nights you’d spent talking together over the smallest things. You wondered how he was doing, you hadn’t seen or heard anything of him since parting ways. You hoped he was well. You’d quite liked him.
The people of the village were surprisingly welcoming to an outsider like yourself upon your arrival. You made yourself at home quite easily, deciding that you’d like to stay here for a while, if the fates allowed it.
Something you’d picked up on over the years was that, being someone who doesn’t physically age kind of sucked when you lived in one place for too long. Eventually the people around you grew old and wondered why you didn’t age with them. It was then that it was time to move on. You hoped that you’d be able to live in this sweet little village, nestled in the valley of large mountains and built around streams and lakes for years to come.
And that you did.
The people of the village grew old, and with age came their fading memory. You were grateful that their forgetfulness allowed you a few more decades of life in the village, but still sad to watch them go. You were able to help out the townsfolk without worry in their old age as your young appearance reminded them of nothing more than someone they once knew.
You adored this village - which had grown into a town over the years - but it was time to move on. As you said your goodbyes to your friends, you realized for the first time since coming to the village that you no longer had trouble making out the words behind their accent. Having lived with them so long, you’d picked up an accent of your own. Despite how long you’d been there, the accent you had wasn’t nearly as thick as the locals, it was lighter but an accent nonetheless. You smiled, knowing you’d be able to carry a piece of your time here with you wherever you went.

You wandered the world rather aimlessly after that, once again just enjoying life. Before you knew it, you found the 1900s to be right around the corner. Oh how time flies when it’s not one of your worries.
The day began like any other, no agenda on your plate, just the strings of fate left to puppeteer you around. That was until said strings of fate decided to bring a certain wizard right to your doorstep. Or rather, your park? In recent weeks you’d taken quite a liking to the green space near your home in the city you currently lived in. You enjoyed the company of the birds and watching strangers as they passed.
There wasn’t anything particular about the man that passed you by next, other than the fact that a black cat rode on his shoulders. A black cat attached to a boy that was all too familiar to you for you not to speak out.
“Douxie? Archie!” You called to them, catching their attention. The familiar pawed at his master, directing his attention in the direction their names had been called.
“(Y/N)...?” The wizard breathed, making his way towards you. “What brings you here?” A warm smile spread across his face and a light chuckle escaped his lips at the sight of his old friend. Sure the two of them hadn’t spoken in centuries, but to two immortals, that never did feel like a long time. The time passed could have been compared to that of two friends who hadn’t caught up in a few months.
“I could ask the same of you, Doux.” You raised an eyebrow at him, getting up from your seat on a park bench to give your friend a hug.
"Oh, well that's new-" He echoed as the two of you pulled out of the hug. His eyes seemed to have lit up at the sound of your voice, swimming with what could only be described as adoration. Had his eyes always been that pretty warm hazel colour?
You looked at him for a moment, taking him in while also puzzled as to what he was talking about. Was it your hair? Clothes? You hadn't seen him in what felt like a millennia, so it could have been anything really. "What do you mean?" You asked him, only realizing what he'd meant as the words left your mouth.
"I- I get it now." You said, returning the smile as the two of you let out a laugh. God… how you’d missed his laugh.
You two exchanged formalities, catching up and briefly summing up your whereabouts over the years. He listened intently while you spoke, and you did the same for him, just as you’d done back in Camelot.
Wow, had it really been that long since you’d last seen each other? He didn’t look a day over 20. You supposed that was the immortality at work, but that wasn’t the point. He was as cute as ever, standing there, watching and listening to you with his undivided attention. The smile you’d missed so much plastered across his face all the while. Yep, still cute. Did you mention that he was cute? Did you always think he was this cute? Maybe it was your time spent apart, or maybe it was the way the sunlight was filtering through the trees lighting up his already bright smile.
It was nice talking to you again, after all these years. Douxie had missed your company and your voice. It was odd though, your voice had changed and you'd picked up an accent in your years apart, yet it was still your voice, just as he’s remembered it. He quite liked the new addition, needless to say. He wanted to sit down and have a long conversation with you, letting you do most of the talking. He wanted to hear what tales you had to tell and how you told them. Centuries ago, he'd loved your company and the sound of your voice, he hadn't realized how much he'd missed it, even if it wasn't exactly the same now.
It wasn't just your voice that he'd loved though, he'd begun having feelings for you over the years, but his duties to Merlin had prevented him from acting on them.
You spoke to him, expressing your excitement and joy over how wonderful this odd little coincidence of your meeting him again was. He relished in every word that left your lips, falling in love with your voice all over again.
"Douxie? Casperan, are you listening to me?" Oh he was, loud and clear. It wasn't until you'd spoken his name did he snap out of the light trance he'd been in moments prior. The way his name rolled off your tongue.. it was beautiful. He'd never considered his name to be very pretty, but the way you said it made him want you to say it again and again.
"I- yeah, sorry. I'm listening.” The raven haired boy shook his head to clear the thoughts clouding his mind. “You've got my attention 100%. I just er.. I got a bit distracted by your new accent." A light laugh escaped him, he hoped it wasn't an odd thing to say. "...It's quite lovely actually."
“Why thank you.” You smiled at him, not used to people complimenting your accent. People nowadays seemed more likely to complain that they couldn’t understand you, talk to you in a loud voice as if you didn’t understand english, or ask you to speak up many, many times. Quite frankly it was getting annoying, but it’s not like you could drop it and be on your merry way. Not to mention you yourself quite liked it and the memories it held, so needless to say, Douxie telling you that he liked it was refreshing.
“Are you free right now?” You asked, accidentally cutting off the start of his next sentence.
“Pardon?”
“I- Sorry. I just meant, are you free right now? For lunch. My treat? There’s a lovely little café just around the block from here. I’d love to properly catch up.” There it was again, that sweet laugh of his filling the air.
“Of course (Y/N), I’d love nothing more.”

Ghost Hunting Headcanons/Phasmophobia AU with Douxie and fem!Reader
- A/N: I’m gonna be honest, I don’t know anything about this kind of stuff and I’m writing based off of the sheer willpower of memes, what I’ve learned from playing Phasmophobia for a month and the power of inspiration to write odd hcs (and AUs apparently) at 1:30 am
Warnings: ghosties
Tumblr media
You’re both balls-y as hell and like to out dare and out do the other
“I’ll give you free hot beverages from the café for a week if you stand in the basement alone, in complete darkness for 10 minutes”
“Don’t tempt me Hisirdoux-”
You smirked before adding, “You know I’d do it anyways without the bribe~”
Douxie would raise an eyebrow at you in amusement, letting out a chuckle
You took up his offer and make your way to the basement
Low-key got bored and nodded off for a bit, lasting well over your 10 minutes of agreed upon time
Douxie starts getting worried when you don’t come back up and makes his way down to look for you
“Y/N? Where’d you go, love?”
Since you’d only been nodding off and weren’t completely out, you hear his voice and footsteps making his way down the stairs towards you and decide to take it upon yourself to give him a little spook
He lets out an alarmed yelp as you jump at him from the shadows
“Bleeding balroths! Y/n, don’t do that to me-! I thought something happened to you..”
You let out a light chuckle but apologize for making him worry
It’s dark in the abandoned house you’re ghost hunting at, and you’ve got nothing but your flashlights to guide you along in your nightly quest (you’d both agreed it be more fun if magic was off limits)
You liked to hold onto Douxie’s sleeve while exploring, not out of fear but just because it was nice knowing he was there
Douxie prefers that you hold onto his sleeve anyways, he’d much rather be prepared to break your no magic rule to protect you on the off chance that whatever you’re out looking for wants to cause harm
Plus, it’s comforting to him to know that you’re close by and that he doesn’t need to keep checking that you’re still there since he can feel you tugging at his sleeve
He checks anyways
“I bet you won’t take home that string doll we saw hanging from the doorway on the way in”
“Oh, do you now?”
Despite not being able to see eachother’s facial expressions in the dark, you can both feel the grin radiating off the other’s face
“Arch might make me burn it if I do”
“Everyone knows you can’t burn haunted things and be rid of its evil”
“Fair enough. You’ll have to remind me to pick it up on our way out then”
You and Douxie ended up going for impromptu ghost hunts so frequently it became sort of a nightly tradition
Douxie enjoys it more than he cares to admit, but it’s mostly because he enjoys spending time with you on these not so traditional dates
You can tell he enjoys it and decide to put some money into a few pieces of proper equipment, even if it’s just for fun
Most nights, the two of you never actually find anything, it’s just fun to be out together past midnight, looking for ghosts in abandoned places
When you do see something, it’s usually just goblins or shadow mephits
However, sometimes you get lucky and something supernatural sets off your gear
“Took the spirits bloody long enough!”
Heavy footsteps echo from the floor above, followed by some low but faint off-tune humming
Queue creepy whispering and heavy breathing down your neck that is most definitely not Douxie
“Please don’t eat my ass demons”
Douxie’s flashlight starts flickering, so does yours, signalling that the spirit is hunting
“Oh…. fuzz buckets-”
He quickly guides you to one of the rooms you passed earlier, one that still had a door attached to its hinges
You close the door behind the two of you and wait out the hunt in silence
You wait for what feels like forever before you confirm that you’re in the clear
Douxie moves to open the door and peers out into the hall with his dim flashlight, pulling you along with him once he deems it safe
You guys are surprisingly deep into the house at this point and decide to head back for safe measures
The front door of the run down house is in sight at the end of the seemingly endless hallway, it looks impossibly far away. Maybe it’s the light?
As you head towards the door, the floorboards creak just ahead of you and Douxie
A slim dark figure flashes in and out of view, making its way towards you two, long slender arms outstretched towards you
Douxie moves to put a protective arm around you and you can faintly see the tattoos on his arms light up under his hoodie
“Shall we make a break for it, darling?”
You can practically hear the smirk in his voice as the two of you dash for the exit
On your way out you remember to grab the string doll hanging in the doorway, as a trophy of sorts for surviving the night
The two of you keep moving until you’re a safe distance from the house before you stop
As your pace slows, you notice the faint glow of Douxie’s tattoos fade away
“Now THAT is how you spend a Tuesday night”
He laughs at your enthusiasm, finding it rather charming how you react in the face of possible danger
Now out of the darkness of the house and outside in the light of the moon, it’s much easier to make out the expressions on his face
Douxie stares back at you with adoration in his eyes as you do a twirl in the cool night air, your laughter forming a small cloud as it echos into the night
He makes his way over to you as you slow from your spinning, wobbling a little as dizziness clouds your head
“Whoa there, take it easy. Just because we escaped a possibly blood hungry demon does not mean that you’re invincible” he says, steadying you on your feet
You let out a chuckle, “I suppose not”
Your spinning had lead you to the dead center of a moonlit clearing
Douxie pulls you in for a kiss, sealing the end of your ghost hunting adventures
For now that is.
Who knows what tomorrow night will bring~?
