So I had to return a book to the library today and I came straight from the horse farm. I went to the front desk because it was an item on loan from another library and I wasn’t sure if it had to be checked in differently. The librarian said no, it could get returned in the normal slot but she could take it and check it in right away.
It was only when I got back to the car that I realized I had walked into the library covered in dirt from head to toe and handed back a book about grave robbing.

I mentioned the Star Trek episode The First Duty today. And my dad replied "Is that the one where Data learns to poop?"

I'm American and I legit logged into bbc.co.uk/doctorwho to play flash games as a kid
Popular BBC shows used to have unique interactive DVD menu screens. Popular BBC shows used to have online games and online experiences and in-universe in-character websites. Popular BBC shows used have exclusive red button content after a new episode finished airing. Popular BBC shows used to feel like more than just a show. We used to be a society.

People love to talk about how movies these days are only pre-existing properties and how "creativity is dead"
The last episode of the Doctor Who serial "The Daleks" aired in February of 1964 and there was a movie adaptation of the serial released in August of 1965.
Maybe - just maybe - this has always been happening but it's a "we only remember the true greats" situation and our looking back at movies of previous eras is just flawed by not considering all of the data.

I have a sociological interest in the existence of the Dr. Who movies.
Like we know that episodes of Doctor Who from that era are lost because they didn't really think of the value of reruns yet. Do these movies exist because there was a demand for reruns that just wasn't met?
In rewatching The Daleks immediately before rewatching Dr. Who and the Daleks, it's not like the movie is really doing anything that the show couldn't accomplish.

Finally watching The Daleks In Color.
They cut it down to about 75 minutes and really should have made it 90.
I'll never try to argue against the statement that Classic Who episodes have some bloat to them, but they managed to make the story feel like it's rushing.

A road trip is about being inclined to take legitimate stops on the way that aren't just at highway rest stops.
If you're not seriously considering going to a dinner or restaurant mid-drive, it's not a road trip

Me: Snoopy IS A CHILD
Me, a second later: Wait, do I have a reason to believe that or is it just "the Peanuts are kids and the adults are always offscreen so Snoopy being on-screen means he's Child-coded"???
