Sand and Sea
Tumblr media
now i open my eyes under the heat of the sun
to the realization that you are meant to be under the water
and i am born to bloom in the sand,
no matter how hard your waves pull me in,
i will remain in the sand
shallow shore cannot reach the ocean’s depth
only in the shoreline they are bound to meet once
may we find strength as the winds falter
because none of the things we do for each other ever matter.
i am born to bloom in the sand,
i will remain in the sand,
we are bound to meet once.
none of the things we do ever matter
because
i am born to bloom in the sand.
i will remain in the sand.

Fresh Start
A leaf may fall inevitably, but the ground catches it gently.
A branch may get deprived, but soon, there will the bees create a hive.
A flower may decay in autumn, but it doesn’t take long for another to blossom.
A fruit losing its taste says, “it’s a sullen ending,” but the tree knows that it’s a sudden beginning.

Rain in Summer
A flower blooms in a pot it stays and dances by herself, smiles and laughs a lot in awe of the sun as it rises from the left.
she enjoys the warmth of the sun and loves its life-giving presence, but afraid of its ray that she might get tan; little does she know its essence.
so one day, it rains hard and she’s trapped her petals disjoin with the blow but a ray passes through a raindrop and there she sees a rainbow.

A Story To Tell
Every one has a story, point of origin and direction, time passing creates history that soon is kept in motion through tiny fragments of memory.
Lovely occurences we tend to embrace; sorrowful ones we dodge through to leave behind, oblivious of real ones who daily endure the race that ruptures the bone and devours the mind-- the reason why they have a story in the first place
ends up being forgotten, oh please, they are one of a kind.
One act of love is to tell them the greatest story ever written, that gave us access to what we've heired, so grab the moment, treasure it unhidden as history is created and the happy ending is shared.

DIY: oversized t-shirt into chic blouse
I got this t-shirt from Salt & Light and the size I ordered was XS but when I tried fitting it, I realized that it was too big for me so yeah, I decided to modify it hahaha. I’ve seen a lot of DIY shirt tutorials on Youtube but they are more on DIY cropped tops and sleeveless shirts that are perfect for summer. Since I'm too conservative for those, I just designed my own shirt and transformed it into a *TADAAAA* chic blouse. If you want to see and learn the step-by-step process I've prepared just for you, ~keep reading~
Tumblr media
Here are the materials needed for today's DIY:
- oversized or old shirt
- tape measure / ruler
- fabric scissors
- sewing pins and needle
- sewing thread
- tailor’s chalk
- shirt decorations (eg. ribbons, flowers)
- ruffle fabric or lace (for collar)
PROCEDURE:
1. Determine how short your sleeves will be. Put on your shirt, then fold the sleeves up and play around with different lengths until you find your desired length.
2. Make fringe lines. Lie the shirt down on a flat surface. Place pins along the lines of the folded sleeves. Rearrange the shirt with one side of the sleeve facing you so it would be easy to cut the strips later. Use the tailor’s chalk to mark 1/2 inch intervals where the strips will be cut. Use the scissors to cut along the vertical lines until you get to the line where the pins are placed. You can cut both sides of the shirt at once as long as they're spread out and flat when cutting. Remove the pins, then do the same steps with the other sleeve.
Tumblr media
3. Knot the fringe. Take 2 neighboring fringe strips and knot them at the upper end. Repeat this for the rest of the strips.
Tumblr media
4. Cut the originally sewn hem to lengthen the strips, then tie knots at the lower end.
Tumblr media
5. Trace out the neckline. Flip the shirt inside out and make chalk lines along the area you want to cut. It's your choice if you want to: a.) hem your cuts or b.) leave it without a sewed hem. If you choose the former, be sure to leave an additional inch of length. Just beware that choosing not to hem the top can result to fraying over time or after being washed.
Tumblr media
6. Decorate your shirt. Sew the ruffle fabric on the shirt’s neckline and go crazy designing the shirt, or let me say, BLOUSE!
Tumblr media
CONGRATULATIONS! You just saved a lot of money on shopping with this DIY blouse-ish idea haha. This DIY is super quick, easy, and cost-efficient so what are you waiting for? Go grab your materials, crank up your creativity, and bring the sparks back into your old, oversized t-shirts! <3 Hope you try it out and if you do so, please send me the link to your post! Let me know in the comment section what DIYs you'd like to see next. :)
xoxo, Aimee ♡

Hush [-hush]
Tempestuous waters clashed along the shore,
waves clapped their hands,
feeling sore,
but nonetheless pulled themselves
to the earth’s core
until a gentle blow from the wind appeased the seas,
and all that was left therein
was a mist of peace.
The rocks felt the crashing waters against their hard surface,
The splashes dispersed the droplets,
Made the atmosphere around moist,
And yet when the wind came,
It brought a calming peace,
Silence echoed from where the sound of waves crashing was heard.

I Have a Friend
I have a friend, a blessing from the sky, she tells me jokes, so corny that i can't even laugh-til-i-cry, I wonder why she laughs hard at 'em though, perhaps she's just high. There's nothing I can do but sigh; nevertheless, she still makes me smile, so during my low times, i know who to go to, for on her I can rely. Sure enough, our friendship will never die. I have a friend, so dear and close to my heart; yet, we rarely see each other and that makes it really hard. As of the moment, we're precisely a thousand miles apart; yet, she never fails to serve as my guide and guard. If only I could measure her love for me, it's certain that it goes beyond quart. Of all the wonderful things that have happened in my life, she's my favorite part. I have a friend whom I am truly impressed. There may be a lot of strong independent women out there, but she's the strongest; like a warrior, she overcomes the greatest test. Like an eagle that settles upon her nest, she takes a break from the life's hustle to rest. Like a leaf that floats on the rivers of forest, she lives her life with joys and zest. I have a friend, a one of a kind--which is why I consider her the best among the rest.
-A.A.V.
(a poem I made for my best friend who is celebrating her birthday today // it's actually a 4-stanza poem but the last one's too personal so yeah hehe)

Half-sliced Heart
              locked in a four-cornered room
with the scent of roses that just bloomed.
standing and peeking through the windows,
i saw the dark clouds lining up in rows.
squinting, i saw crystal clear droplets of tears
racing with the surreal time of years.
then the crowns of roses bowed down
        and the petals turned brown
nothing left but its stale scent,
       nor was there a vent;
  only a letter
unsent.

Caterpillar
You're a pretty little caterpillar that acts and loves like no other, though I cant see you from afar, I still feel our distance getting nearer. Like a caterpillar that makes me smile by its small deed, you make my day complete, you do and you did, so all your letters and our memories i treasured and hid for me to read whenever I'm in need. Days have passed, time flew fast; yet, you're still here, no fading colors nor is there rust. Everyday, to me you produce bountiful love, so pure and just, Oh, now I know that you and I will forever last.
When thunders roll and it gets stormy, a calm caterpillar waits patiently; likewise, you don't get anxious and weary-- you just trust God and pray to Him daily. Today is the time for something called metamorphosis, go flap your wings and enjoy the breeze, don't be scared-- i'll be here to assist. Just remember Jeremiah 29:11 to be an optimist. sending you a bunch of hugs and a piece of kiss, I hope and pray for your continual bliss.
--A.A.V.
*this 18-lined poem is dedicated to one of my bestfriends, Clarisse, who just turned eighteen the other day. [Originally entitled "Clacla-terpillar"]

BE BOLD.
There is going to be many instances where the devil is going to turn this world and everything in it against you, but that’s where Christ within you intercedes and His light overcomes. It always does.
God gives you the BOLDNESS and the COURAGE to pursue what He has called you to do regardless of how many obstacles the devil tries placing down the road. There will be many times where temptation and the struggles you’re dealing with are going to have you possibly doubting God.. I’ve been there, trust me. But I’m here to tell you today to keep fighting the good fight because you serve such a POWERFUL God and He will NOT fail you. The issues you’re dealing with now are equipping you and giving you strength and experience for what God has waiting ahead.
You may be struggling now, but this is all part of God’s preparation. He is preparing you for greater and you just have to trust Him.. even when it doesn’t make sense. God needs YOU. There is no time to waste in being afraid or doubting God’s ability to use you for His kingdom. That is the sole purpose as to why you have been created!
BE BOLD. Ask God for more. DARE to be used.

Quote
It’s hard to focus when we’re distracted, hard to fix our eyes on what’s ahead if we’re tempted to look back, hard to go to the straight path if we try to walk astray, hard to listen when we let our thoughts fly up high. But still, we should be aware of the possible outcomes and be considerate of the feelings of the people involved. They just want our attention; they are so focused on pulling our focus towards them. Why can’t we respond and do the same thing? Just focus, no matter how hard it is.
