You may have noticed from my recent posts that I'm working on a story and since I've already spoiled its premise, I'll speak comfortably.
It will cover chapters 2 & 3 of ODYDLBJKYEOM and This Too Shall Pass but from Sōsuke's POV.
I'm nearly done with his side of 2 & 3 and it's already 10k, but I'm worried that if I do make it into two chapters the second one (TTSP) will not be as lengthy.

cat!Sōsuke now (December 2002): Why the fuck does no one care?! Why the fuck am I the only one who sees this as something wrong? Where were your parents? Your mentor? Those loafers? Why the fuck did no one take care of this child?!

Writing Shinigami is annoying because I don't know how technologically advanced they are. They have cellphones (when in the Human world) but Rukia seems surprised at certain mundane things. Do they have washing machines? Hair dryers? Their labs are high-tech but do they know what a car is? Do they have printers?
I don't want to make them seem ignorant but I wouldn't be surprised if they aren't aware of humanity's advances

If Severus had been a girl, her story would have been mostly the same as canon, except that the Marauders maybe wouldn't have been so harsh with their bullying because "she wasn't a threat to James' crush on Lily" and "she's just a girl, girls are fragile". However, she would have still been in love with her and James knew that, so he still despised her, thinking she was holding Lily back from him.
Now unto my personal headcanons (because they fit and they make me happy):
- Fem! Severus wouldn't have shared a room with Mulciber and Avery, so she would have befriended her female roommates instead. I believe the fanaticism for the Death Eaters cult was more prominent in boys than girls, because society expected them to stay at home and raise more purebloods than participate in battles. However, she would've still hung out with them because they shared the same interest for Dark Arts.
-Her roommates would be Dorcas Meadow, Pandora Rosier (Evan Rosier's cousin) and Theresa Flint (the last one is an oc of mine)
- She would be a tomboy for the first few years, having her hair cut short and wear the male uniform instead of the female one. Partly because she's used to wearing boy clothes and partly to avoid embarrassing pranks from the Marauders. Due to this, she's often mistaken for a boy and fits in better with her male classmates.
- She knows wizards are more respected that witches, so she strives to imitate a masculine appearance to earn that (at first). It's not a case of "I'm not like other girls". She wants to survive.
- She's been infatuated with Lily since they met, but this crush wears off as Snape sees Lily's selfishness and hypocrisy. By the time their friendship is over, Snape is already disillusioned with her but still tries to hold into their old bond out of emotional attachment rather than love.
- She faced her own prejudice and hardships in Slytherin for being a poor half-blood, with a disgraced pureblood mother. She only earned her place when she showed off her talent and bested a few of her housemates. Basically, she had to win fights, physical and magical, against her own housemates until they deemed she deserved to be in Slytherin.
-In canon, Lucius took Snape under his wing and treated him like a brother in Hogwarts. In this, it's Narcissa who sees the potential in Snape and practically adopts her, and Lucius follows her example. Thanks to the older girl, Snape experiences nice clothes and good school tools for the first time. Narcissa is quite her sugar mommyl, but Snape is also her pet project.
- She's a bit of "one of the boys", although they're not really friends until fourth year. The boys were Mulciber, Avery, Wilkes and Rosier. They accepted her because they didn't really consider her a girl and they begrudgingly respected her skills. It was a mutual understanding that they used each other for their own benefits, Snape helping them with her intellect and spells while they helped her into getting assimilated with the other Slytherins. As they grew and got to know Snape beyond her blood status, they became protective of her and started to cherish her truly as a friend (althought Rosier took it to another level)
-Which brings us to my next headcanon. In my au, Rosier and Snape had a nice connection on first year when they sat together during History of Magic. He's one of the few that was welcoming of Snape since the start and always treated her like an equal. She's very fond of him because of it, and they grow to be very close friends.
-Regulus still looked up to her when they were students. He didn't trust her at first, because of her blood status and all, but seeing she had Narcissa's favour, he decided to look past it. And after witnessing her talent, he decided he wanted to learn more about her, so he began to follow her around to know her better. Snape was annoyed initially, but she eventually appreciated his company.
-She showed some genuine kindness to Barty Crouch Jr on his first year at Hogwarts, and the boy latched unto her like an eager puppy since then. That's how he befriended Regulus, with both of them following her around so often.
-They were both her little brothers, her precious babies, who couldn't do nothing wrong even if they tried. She was patient and permissive with them in a way she definitely wasn't with her other friends.
-She's the brain of the group, so she's usually saving their asses from the consequences of their actions (Mulciber, Avery and Wilkers) and helping them with their schemes (Dorcas, Rosier and Narcissa).
-In her desire to remain in Lily's life and have the girl's love, Snape repressed herself and kept her Slytherin friends at arms' length, which caused many arguments. When she and Lily had that fallout, Snape fully embraced her identity and, in return, her housemates embraced her too, as if they had been waiting for her.
-She was a natural Occlumens, unconsciously developing her ability while she learnt to mask her feelings and thoughts, product of the abuse and harassment she went throught.
-Her boggart used to be her father, Tobias Snape, but after "the prank", it became a werewolf instead.
-After what happened in the Shrieking Sack, she inmersed herself in researchs about lycanthropy and possible cures in order to forget her fear.
-When she experimented with potions, she tried them first on small animals, mostly rats and birds. Then bigger animals, like owls and cats. And lately, in the final phase of testing, she tried them on herself. Only her friends knew about this practise, since Snape made them promise to not tell a soul, since she didn't trust the Hogwarts staff to be understanding about it.
-When something goes wrong on the final test, she heals in the privacy of her bed while her friends take care of her, lying to the teachers that she's sick. They dread this practise of hers, since they can't stand seeing her in pain, but also had mad respect for her because of it.
-She was a control freak, obsessively cleaning and arranging her stuff with systems only she understands. She always knew when someone touched her things, just by seeing them moved the slighest bit to the different position she left them. Her housemates knew better than disrupt her order.
-Her talent with potions surpassed even Slughorn himself, but he preferred to praise Lily because her looks and attitude fit more in his club. He came to regret that decision years later, but Snape knows how to keep grudges.
-She considered Mulciber, Avery, Dorcas, Pandora, Rosier, Regulus and Barty her closest friends within Slytherin. The rest were just acquaintances. She was also close to Aurora Sinistra, from Ravenclaw, and Charity Burbage, from Hufflepuff.
-She and Charity danced around the lines separating friendship from romance for a while, but Snape wasn't ready for that step and Charity moved on. They remained good friends.
-She was a raging bisexual, because obviously.
-She didn't support the Death Eaters' beliefs, but she really looked up to the figure of Lord Voldemort. A poor half-blood like her, who paved his way to the top of the hierarchy with his charms, wit and power, making all the pureblood families submit to him. He was everything she aspired to be, everything she wanted to have. However, she soon realized her vision didn't exactly match reality...
And that's all. I have more but I wrote too much already. I'm on a hyperfixation, so I'll definitely write more about her in the future.
Feel free to tell me your own ideas or headcanons. I'll love to discuss them.
Tagging @love-the-purple-cat because she's also a fem! Snape stan. She has an amazing au, so go and check her!

It actually has to do with the lore I gave the Snape family!
So, there are two Snapes: House of Snape and Clan Snape
Clan Snape is the original; they're witch (and other supernatural beings) hunters who first started in 17th-century America and were very active during the Salem trials. Back then, the head of the clan married a woman and had a daughter who was muggleborn. When the woman (Eliza) found out about her daughter's magic she started helping the witches and magick folk escape trial. When her husband noticed that his wife and daughter acting odd he followed them and found out their secret which led to him killing his wife and hunting his daughter.
This is where the deals started
Upon her death, Eliza was visited by a demon who – supposedly – offered his power in exchange for companionship and the death of her husband. She accepted, got revived and killed the man.
She later remarried and had another 12 children. An important point is that children 1 & 2 are girls while child 3 is a boy, rinse and repeat. The girls ended up inheriting her ability to make a deal with a demon upon their untimely death while the boys ended up despising magic. Eliza, being spiteful, kept her first husband's surname.
And that's how the House of Snape was created.
The main reasons purebloods desire the family is not only because of the women's historical and political importance, but also because you are granted temporary immortality and power boon.
The House and Clan are archnemeses. Each Snape has their opposite who is the "only one capable*" of bringing death. They have a long line of spiting each other: Eliza keeping the name Snape, while the Clan have made their coat of arms 3 swords piercing the head of a dog, a direct reference to the House's 3 magpies sitting on a tree and habit of having 3 canine companions.
*given that each has their selected by fate enemy, in later years most don't touch others'. There are of course ones who kill more than just their enemy (like Shirley) and others who pretty much are on neutral, or even friendly, terms with theirs.

Well, don't mind if I do
3 Dead Magpies has currently 4 versions that I plan on writing: Inferno, Frost, Mist, and one that still hasn't received a name. The reason for the names are connected with the powers and Snape lore I have created.
Inferno – It's the original version of this AU. In it female Severus Snape has a fire affiliation – a result of a deal with a demon – which causes much trouble. I plan on showcasing just how disadvantageous she is – both as a teenager who dropped out of Hogwarts after 5th year, and later as an adult who has a better grip on her situation though does spiral after the death of the Potters and unwillingly gaining custody of Harry. The teenage part will contain abuse and torture – mental, emotional and physical. The later years will show her struggling to not slip back to her old ways and raise Harry properly.
Frost – Sephira (female Severus) dies of hyphothermia when she was young and makes a deal. She kills her parents and is taken in by her aunt Shirley. The story will focus more on her time in Hogwarts.
Mist – I plan on making this story mostly told from James Potter's view. It starts with the last days of 5th year and continues from there. James notices Perdita (female Severus) on the feast and that's the last time he sees her and it isn't until nearly a decade later that he hears any news about her again. The War slowed down when Voldemort disappeared and people moved on with their lives. James realised that being married to Lily isn't as great as it once was, he swears there's something wrong with his 5-year-old son, Wormtail has left their little group and Sirius seems to be more on edge these last few months, reminding him of when they were aurors during the war.
The unnamed one – is an attempt at comedy? Dark comedy? Snape disappears, new teachers are brought in who actively oppose Dumbledor and encourage old practices and illegal spells, there's a new woman who shares the position of headmaster, and many voices who up until now have been silent have started talking and demanding changes. At the welcoming feast for the marauders' last year Snape returns only she isn't as she used to be. And for some reason lords are fighting each other muggle style for whose son will marry her????
There are two other versions but they either don't have a clear story or they're iheavily nspired by another story (that is not mine).

The fake covers I did (for a class)

God tumbles down and the characters it references
You may have noticed how the characters and situations in God tumbles down in chapter 3 are references to certain Bleach characters and situations. Of course, I have allowed my bias to colour how those characters are portrayed.
Characters
Kou – is a direct reference to Ichigo, which is one of the reasons why he is uncomfortable at the beginning reading the story. He sees their similarities and attempts to run away (taking a break from reading the manuscript) and then getting emotional as he reads along. This is why he wanted it to be published – so that his story (though modified/doctored) can be heard and known.
Fuyuhiro – he is what I remember Kuchiki Byakuya being like in the early chapters – cold and aloof, a sticker for rules that would let his sister be executed and stop others from rescuing her. Fuyuhiro does not get better and dies after his fight with Kou.
Fuyume – Kuchiki Rukia, though more refined and not in the tendency of calling others fools/idiots, and later her role is similar to Inoue Orihime. She is aware and accepting of her role and position, and after inheriting her brother's position she becomes colder. I ended up showing some of my dislike for her in Chapter 37: Eyes of the Victor.
Shino – Abarai Renji. I'll be honest, after what happened after the Winter War (and maybe before that) I do not like either Renji or Rukia. Don't try to change my mind. Shino is how I remember Renji being when Rukia was to be executed – he is hot-headed and arrogant, but tries to stick to the rules, even though he later may rebel.
Blue-eyed man – Grimmjow
Natsu – inspired by Nelliel Tu Odelschwanch. He is a hard worker with morals.
Rin – no one specific. I don't know if they would have allowed for a book featuring two men kissing to be published (back then, i.e. 2002), so I purposely avoided using pronouns and chose a unisex name.
Chapters
Chapter 5: False promise is a reference to Bleach chapter 7: The Pink Cheeked Parakeet and the ones following the mini-arc or episode 4: Cursed Parakeet.
Chapter 6: Arrows references Ichigo meeting Ishida Uryū, the words making him reframe their friendship and circumstances.
Chapter 9: Winter – the first time Ichigo met Kuchiki Byakuya (and by extension Abarai Renji)
Chapter 14: Rockrose – when Byakuya and Renji leave Ichigo after defeating him and taking Rukia. Kou is angrier and more insulted by being left for dead than Ichigo was. Kou uses his anger as motivation to become stronger, not just to save Fuyume, but also to defeat Fuyuhiro.
Chapter 17: Flower – When Abarai Renji decides to help save Rukia and switches sides. I can't remember if Ichigo was as angry as Kou at that. Kou sees the world in black and white and a few shades of grey, so he is rather pissed at Shino for doing nothing. Ichigo sympathises with the man in those moments.
Chapter 19: Beautiful night – Though sooner and with a different outcome, this is a reference to Ichigo and Byakuya's fight. From what I have seen, Byakuya grows to respect Ichigo after it and Rukiya's near execution, while Fuyuhiro dies feeling derision for Kou after their fight.
Chapter 23: Negotiation – When Inoue Orihime was kidnapped and held in Hueco Mundo and the Shinigami refused to do a rescue mission.
Chapter 27: Blue – Ichigo's fights with Grimmjow and the tension (I'm sure we can all agree) we felt.
Chapter 32: Shield and chain – When party members of the Orihime rescue team are left behind to fight the enemies. Kou is genuinely distressed by Natsu being left behind.
Chapters 34, 35 and 36 – Nothing specific (Read: No clue). Just the regular war things.
Chapter 37: Eyes of the Victor – the war is over and my dislike for Rukia (Fuyume) and Renji (Shino) rears its head.
Chapter 39: Pendulum – the war is over and Kou is forgotten. I know Ichigo gets back his powers but in God tumbles down, Kou is left alone – a sword that has done its duty and ended up breaking. Life goes on, his friends don't bother visiting him after everything he did for them. Fuyume and Shino marry, having already forgotten about the man who saved her. Their world never needed him but it was nice (easier) when he helped.
A would-be Bad End for Ichigo, if you will.
