HOW TO MAKE THE IDOL A GOOD SHOW

Listen to the fans and make Jennie a villain. Trust me the reviews are gonna change OVERNIGHT who doesn't like a pretty, talented, chic villain who's snakey and a backstabber and totally power hungry and ur bestie to ur face but really just playing mind games with you?

Improve the soundtrack like ngl it's so underwhelming for a show focusing on the music industry like idk give us edgy sex music give us synth beats give us smth jay park would beg on his knees for give us 2013 emo era BTS give us a blackpink song reminiscent of sour candy give us another the weeknd and ldr collab

Give some more substance to Troye Sivan's character. Okay so he's one of Jocelyn's besties and helps her out. He's clearly more headstrong than her assistant so why don't we make him a super perceptive guy who is actively tryna hunt tedros down and like idk openly has beef with him? why dont we make him reign hell over his bestie?

Keep it risque but keep but sex scenes moderate and if not, make them uhhmmmm... not literal torture porn

STICK TO ONE DAMN THING DAMMIT or tackle each part of the plot smartly like how abt we have tedros manipulate, groom and brainwash jocelyn and isolate her from everyone else but wrap it up with a pretty, sexy, "i understand you and im just tryna help u and i really care abt u" bow and be her shoulder to cry on while she actively tries to deal with her leaked photo situation and show us flashbacks to the start of her career and her mom's death and how she deals with her mental health (other than dependency on cigs) and like have her serve the c word with some BANGING music as we do all that and like wheres the cult parts that was mentioned in the trailer? give us smth spooky and culty

Have Jocelyn's assistant WOMAN UP like i want her to be a good girl gone bad i want her to be tired of getting pushed around and i want her to lose it and cut her hair and wear an ungodly amount of eyeliner and buy a gun and drop as many f bombs as possible and go thru a rough patch with jocelyn

It would be so interesting to see Tedros try and win over Jocelyn's team like play them as well as hes playing Jocelyn but not entirely

Okay I watched the first ep of The Idol and I'll drop a review for it here since yall seem to like my reviews of stuff and liked the little mermaid one here we go........

Okay, frankly, imo it was just bad, and that's so sad because it had everyone so hyped and clearly the earlier version of the script was BANGING but then we all know how they tweaked it and they just gave us....well.....this. It's a show with a star studded cast and no substance other than the shots lily rose depp took at the nightclub scene.

The cinematography was beautiful and so were all the settings and the costume design, but the dialogue had me raising my brows and i didn't find jocelyn to be a likeable character at all. I mean seriously wth "mental illness is sexy" and jocelyn saying she likes how rapey the weeknd's character was?????????????????????? It's a show that was supposed to comment on the exploitation of young women in hollywood and it was supposed to be edgy but like wheres the plot???? Is the plot about how Jocelyn's gonna get revenge on whoever leaked that risque photo of her?????? Is it about her budding toxic relationship with Tedros????? Is it about her career or her mom's death like what do we focus on?????

They made it soooo hypersexual and from the earlier trailers ofc we knew it was gonna be verrryyy risque but like it's clear to me they're catering to all the pervs who are gonna watch it and adding plenty of shock value to get ppl to talk and yeah it's just torture porn. How's Tedros completely detached from how the music industry works but taking over her career in a matter of like 24 hours?????????

The show can still actually be good if they focus on the plot instead of the sex scenes and aesthetics like trust me The Idol team, yall got all that down now let's make the show actually interesting instead of riding on the cast's fame and fanbase power. Let's listen to the fans and make Jennie a villain or smth.

I loved her acting considering the fact that she just debuted her eyes are so pretty she's so pretty her facial expressions were on point the whole movie and she's a true princess and she deserves all the flowers and more.

Jonah Hauer King just might be my new celebrity crush HAVE YALL SEEN THAT MAN hes a PRINCE PEOPLE THATS A PRINCE! THATS A BONAFIDE PRINCE i was skeptical when i intially saw him and BOY DID HE PROVE ME WRONG hes a bit different from cartoon eric, but hes not any less dreamy and if we keep casting him in lead romance roles he just might be the biggest romance actor of the gen.

The underwater animation was a joy to watch and the mermaid tails were so creative it wasnt corny or too fake looking it was fun, colorful, very natural but also very whimsical, it was perfect, i dare say. THE MUSICAL DEPARTMENT SMOKED SUMN GOODDDD LIKE DAAANGGG DISNEY WHAT DID YALL GIVE EM TO SMOKE OR DID YALL LOCK THEY FAMILY UP IN A GULAG CUZ HONEEEEYYYY THE INSTRUMENTALS THE REPRISES THIS VERSION OF UNDER THE SEA

Is it any of our business what a grown woman does with her life and who she dates? Nope. Does Taylor Swift owe us anything? It may feel like the answer is "yes", but no, she really doesn't. She's just a an uber popular singer and she makes music and performs for us to enjoy, and she does that bit very passionately and seriously. She has gratitude towards her fans because they made her successful and rich and she's always been generous with how she shows that, but there's a line drawn after that, anything else is a parasocial relationship.

But are we allowed to be upset at a certain choice she makes or a certain person she dates? Yes, ofc we are. Especially since that person is involved in multiple disgusting, disheartening controversies and since that choice goes against numerous things she advocated for. We can't change her mind, we can't do anything to stop her and we have no right to try and stop her, but that can't stop us from being upset and we have every right to be upset and express that in a healthy, mature manner.

Stop sending hate and death threats to anyone involved with what's been going on recently. It's equally gross, incredibly immature, and a huge waste of time and breath. We're all disappointed, but there's not really anything we can do other than wallowing in the disappointment. Whether you choose to keep supporting her or leave the swiftie fandom is purely up to you, but that's the only decision you can really make rn.

I can't believe TS has become an artist I have to sep their art from. I along with many other people looked up to her and loved her content and music to another level. I enjoyed analyzing her lyrics and I felt immense pride every time she achieved something. I was never blind to her problematic side or actions, but this really takes the cake and it's just straight up hurtful, as someone who is muslim and south asian.

She really advocated for such serious issues and when she did, she spoke of it with such passion and now this??? and she says it's the happiest she's ever been? No, his actions aren't hers and she's not responsible for them but who you associate yourself with says a great deal about you, and rn, she's publicly, boldly romantically associating herself with a man who constantly picks on islam and has admitted to enjoying adult content featuring black women being abused.

I really am having a hard time digesting this but ofc, these people don't know me and I don't know them beyond what's shown on screen. A bunch of angry tumblr posts and tags will not affect them whatsoever or push them to apologize or do anything else of the category, this is all just to feel lighter ourselves about this topic. I am not a TS anti fully but I'm incredibly dissapointed and idk if I can ever fully align myself with her again or call myself a swiftie but I appreciate and admire her artistry and the strength with which she dealt with her life's hardships. I can't look at the album I spent months saving up money for and spent like more than a 100 bucks on the same anymore and my heart goes out to everyone else who feels how I do and all the minorities and communities MH has bashed on.
