TORVI LAUGHS, the sound soft and airy as she shakes her head, ' i found it quite endearing. and we had awhile to talk about it. ' his mother, she found, talked quite frequently about her lost son, particularly when she seemed to miss him most. every time she visited she had new stories, old memories recently come to light as she would help her in the kitchen or spend afternoons keeping her company over tea and pastries from the local bakery. torvi had always listened to her with rapt attention, laughing along, agreeing that those stories did sound like something nate would do. as time passed, and his mother and father became older ( and her visits became even more frequent, keeping an eye on them, helping them ) the stories became ones she knew well, even if she would not embarrass the older woman by pointing that out. it brought her comfort to talk about him, and though it made the ache in torvi's chest more keenly felt, she would never deny her that.

though he presses her closer his words make her pause, she wanted him of course, she had never felt this way about anyone before, and so many years apart had only made it worse. but the phrase whatever you want had struck a chord with her. she had wanted children, she had been the one to tell him the future she had imagined for them as she kissed him and promised him the world that she saw for them. ' no, ' she shakes her head, running her fingers through his short hair as she regarded him, ' what do you want? tonight is for you. ' her selfishness was quite legendary, back home she was known to play games with people for fun, to allow her whims to be tended to before those around her ( the only exception had always been her people. they came above all else and in marrying him it was the first time she had put herself before the realm ) but he would always be the exception. anything that he wanted, she would give him.

' tell me what you want, nate, ' she kisses him, but this time it is a gentle press of her lips to the space just beside his ear, ' whatever you want. ' though there is no one else to hear them in the little house she keeps her voice quiet, as if the very offer itself was a precious secret, something intimate. and in many ways it was ' it's yours. '

REASONS TO CUP A FACE. ( A PROMPT LIST. )

with the help of some very talented and amazing friends, i present to you an unexpected, very spontaneous meme list based on the beautiful art of cupping someone's face! there's a mix of romantic and platonic here, and even a few that defy the boundaries of normal relationship dynamics! i hope you enjoy! as always; DO NOT ADD TO THIS LIST NOR CLAIM IT AS YOUR OWN!
