All the Filipino things I noticed in the Neon Agent trailer

no one asked for this except my filo ass. but fr i found out a lot of different filipino cultures that’s been integrated into neon (but literally mostly her room alsdadl) so heres a post showing (most) of them!

Dying and bleaching your hair is a huge trend here in the Philippines to the point that you can go to a college down to the streets and you’re guaranteed to see someone with bleached hair. Since we have naturally black hair, majority of my generation risks the bleach just so they can color their hair in different colors that weren’t limited to brown and red. My personal headcanon is that those yellow bits in Neon’s hair isn’t dye, it was a bleach job that was prolly botched so she had to live with it lol

When she falls down on the bed, she says “Ay, buhay…” which if you directly translate it, it means, “Ah, life…” which is wrong in this context? “Ay, buhay” is used when someone is tired or exasperated. The only thing I can compare to this is the American “What a day…” expression? aosjdiosa

so walis tambo (if u translate this directly it’s “sweep tambo” but walis means broom in this context bc “walis” can be used as both a verb and a noun asljdsl) is a broom that uses reeds as the brush. There’s like so many vendors who sell these things because, well, people who make these need the money. It works as well as a broom it’s just that it may mold and rot because it is made out of natural products.
