haikyuu boys overhearing you talking after a fight

(sakusa kiyoomi x gn!reader, suna rintaro x gn!reader)

sakusa kiyoomi

-sakusa had been busy for the past months, with the new season coming up, they had to train even harder than they had ever did.

-so he was rarely home, you had gotten quite used to coming home to utter darkness and waking up to an empty bed.

-no matter how much you deny, it was more than just lonely.

-so you decided to take a day off on the same day as omi, hoping that you would get to spend some time with him.

-you had some many things you wanted to do in your mind but you also respected omi's day off.

-so you would not mind even if it was a whole day with just omi in the bed, sleeping, cuddling or just watching movies.

-when the day arrived you were excited to finally spend some time with him.

-but of course it just had to go wrong.

"hey omi, are you doing anything today?"

he shook his head, signalling a 'no' at your question. a smile rushed to your face at his answer, he had some time to spend with you now.

'i was wondering if you would want to go out? like to a park or something? just for a while?'

'no y/n, i'm exhausted, i just want to rest. besides don't you have work today?'

'i actually took today off so that i could spend some time with you, doesn't it sound great? we haven't had much time together lately so i thought we could do something fun.'

'don't you get it y/n? it's my rest day. "rest". i'm supposed to be relieving my muscles, not going out and doing something that requires effort.'

'oh okay then! how about movies at home then? we could cuddle and watch that show you've always wanted to watch!'

'goddamnit y/n. did you not understand what i said or something? i need to rest, not waste my time spending it with you. why don't you tell your boss that you'll be going to work today, mhm? and just leave me alone."

-dang it hurt, his words stung you more than you though it would.

-you and sakusa rarely got into a fight, in fact, this might be the first time that he had raised his voice this much.

-you muttered an okay before retreating to your study. there was no way you were going to work in the state you were in.

-you were on the verge of tears yet you refused to let them out, before dialing the phone number you had memorized by heart.

'hi mom, could we talk for a moment?"

you instantly felt relief at your mom's warm voice from the other side, wiping your tears before explaining what was happening between you and your boyfriend.

'mom, i love them, i really do, but i am starting to feel like we're drifting apart, and like i'm the only one who wants the relationship to go on. it feels like omi doesn't want to spend time with me anymore. what if he got tired of me, mom? what do i do?'

a muffled sob then left your lips, but little did you know sakusa was right outside your door, accidentally eavesdropping on your call with your mom.

-after seeing you retreat into your study, he realizes just how much time he had neglected you during his period of intense training.

-he had come to apologize about what he had told you, and to ask you if you were still up to go out.

-but he had not expect this. he had not realised that his neglect had led you to think that he did not care for this relationship- that he did not care for you.

-he treasured you more than volleyball itself and you thinking otherwise, made him realise how bad of a boyfriend he had been.

-feeling horrible would be an understatement, he could feel his insides paining from sadness, and he knew that he had to apologize to you, and make you realize just how much you meant to him.

'y/n.' he piped, walking into the room, though you were still on your phone. you rushed to wipe the tears that you had let out, thinking that it would be a matter of some time before he got to see you. his frown deepened at your action, his heart yelling at him for being the cause of your tears, it was just so painful to see you like this, especially when he was the reason.

he rushed towards you to embrace you in a hug before you could say anything to him, muttering words of apology and just how much he was a jerk to have made you suffer alone- to the point where you had felt the need to hide your tears from him.

'i love you so much y/n, and i'm really sorry that i ever made you think otherwise. i promise i will make up to you for the rest of my life.'

a smile slowly made its way to your lips at his words, your shoulders relaxing at the relief you felt from the latter. he still loved you. and you loved him too.

suna rintaro

-suna and you almost never fought over anything: he was laidback 24/7 and you were glad at how he never made a fuss over things normal people would get mad at, instead he would always talk it out with you.

-yet, the situation you were currently in with him, was a complete 180 from the normal suna you knew.

"who was that guy y/n? you better not lie to me."

"i told you rin! he's just a friend, I've told you about him a lot of times, I grew up with him. and besides they already have a partner!"

"yeah? then why did he look like he was undressing you in front of everyone? are you so desperate for attention that you had to lie straight to my face, huh? you've changed y/n, what happened to you?"

-you weren't quite sure if you were just hallucinating or if you heard the words actually come out of his mouth- he knew how much you did not like being degraded.

"so did you rin. you're not the rin i love anymore."

-you turned to leave, walking to the direction of your bedroom, locking the door as you entered the room.

-you decided to dial same friend you were arguing with suna about, deciding that it would be best to apologize for the fuss suna had caused before leaving the venue with you.

-they were understanding about it, and told you not to pay mind, but it hit you when they asked if your relationship with him was fine. you were a bit hesitant, choosing your words before answering.

"it's fine, really. it's just sometimes the things he say to me hurts a lot. he probably did not mean it, or maybe he did, but they always make me insecure every time he says them- as if i was the one trying to flirt with the others when i was just happy to talk to my friends. it just feels unfair you know?"

-suna had heard every bit of your conversation, he had since you apologized to them.

-he had been standing in front of the bedroom door, his eyes never leaving the ground.

-he could not believe how inconsiderate he had been, it's just ever since he realised that he could one day lose you to someone else, his feelings had been a rollercoaster ride but instead of talking it out with you, he had lashed it out in the wrong way.

-and it pained him so bad to hear that he wasn't the rin you once loved anymore. it was almost as if the actions he took to make sure you wouldn't love anyone else did just the opposite.

-guilt was eating him alive, and there was nothing more he wished for than to hug you and tell you that he was sorry for his actions at the moment.

-so he knocked on the door, softly, once, then twice, cooing you to open the door.

-and once you did, the first thing he did was pull you into his arms and tell you just how much he was afraid to lose you, and lashed out the growing fear in a wrong way.

"i love you y/n." he muttered into your hair, "i love you so much."

haikyuu boys when you come back after a long day

(oikawa tooru x gn!reader, akaashi keiji x gn!reader)

a/n: ayyyy, finally another piece lol and it has to include angst of cus :))

☾ oikawa tooru

-man was pent up about something and he was waiting for you to come back...for quite the while now, and with every passing second that went over your usual time, it flamed his fire greatly.

-when he heard the soft clack of the door, he could not wait to release all his gathered words, not even caring about your condition or how tired you looked at that moment.

-the first thing you heard when you came in was a yell, and the first thought that came to your mind was only... here we go again.

-the whole day, everything just seemed to go wrong for you, and only when you thought you couldn't embarrass yourself more, another thing was waiting for you. perhaps it might not have been a huge thing to worry about but... something about today made everything a bigger deal than it normally would've been.

-you could not even spare a glance at tooru as he continued his banter, you were just desperate to get into bed a forget all about today.

-sure, you were hoping to find some comfort in your lover's arm but seems like today wasn't the day for that too. you could feel the gathered tears rushing to your eyes as you recalled your day, as you tried your best to hold them back, not wanting to interrupt whatever tooru had to say to you.

-you glanced down at the shoes you were dying to take off, the blisters on your heels starting to hurt again, even though you've been trying not to mind the pain in your feet.

-you sighed, you had to tell tooru one way or another. you couldn't take any more blows today.

"tooru, can we please talk about this tomorrow? i'm quite tired and all i want to do now is rest."

"no y/n, we have to settle this now. don't you think i'm tired too? i was training all day, what much do you have to do in your job except sit around and do nothing? bet you're as useless in your job as you are when doing chores too."

-that was your last straw.

-you broke down crying there and then. not even a step further in, in your shoes, at the door. you could feel the tears flowing out, and your attempts to hold them back failed utterly. everything was coming out: the little things you were trying to not mind about, the task your superior had said you had messed up when you weren't even a part of the said task, the spilled coffee that stained your white shirt. perhaps tooru was right. you were useless after all.

-can you imagine the look on his face when you started sobbing?

-he was panicked

-definitely does not know what to do at all for the first few seconds

-he would just stand there as you sob

-but after a while, he would start to soothe you in the best way he could possibly think of

-he could hear the soft whimpers with every hefty breath you took, your back heaving up and down at the momentary pauses. you could feel the soft rubs on your back, his palm moving in large circular motions as you hugged him even tighter. you couldn't even mind the words he had said earlier. everything just felt lighter with the small rubs tooru gave, attempting to soothe you.

"i'm sorry for being useless tooru, i promise i will try better."

"no... no y/n. i'm the one who should be sorry. i.. i was just having a bad day today and seeing the house in a mess took a toll on me. i shouldn't have taken it out on you. i know how busy you must be too, especially during this time of the year. i'm so sorry y/n."

-he rested your head on his shoulder as he continued his soft rubs, planting a kiss on his hair as he whispered words of apology and reassurance. he told you that everything was going to be okay and you tried your best to tell that to him too. you knew that he needed it as much as you do.

"netflix and cuddles?" he asked.

"yes please." you softly chuckled at his question, snuggling further into him.

☾ akaashi keiji

-you felt like such a failure. the professor of the only class you enjoyed told you that it looked like "your efforts are declining."

-sure, you wouldn't have minded if it was on a project you didn't work hard on, but for a project, you spent weeks on, and days without sleep, just trying to perfect the project to your best, it was hard to bear the words.

-it was already hard enough to sit through the rest of the lecture but when the professor from another class 'accidentally' failed your test and announced it in front of the class, it made the whole day even worse. it was also a test you had studied for really hard. though the professor changed your marks back to the correct ones, the incident left a bad imprint on your day.

-you were just ready to go home and just into the arms of akaashi, and hear his voice as he would tell you that everything was alright. you slightly smiled at the thought of him, he was everything you had hoped for and so much more, you simply did not understand how you landed such a treasure.

-but oh boi, you did not expect akaashi to shrug you off just the way he did. he was normally attentive to you, no matter how busy he was, and you strived to do the same for him- it was only fair that he receives the same loving treatment he gives to you.

-but dang, he really just 'meh' ed your 'do you want to eat dinner together?", especially after you had prepared his favorite dish for him, thinking that he might have had a long day like you did too. nevertheless, that attempt was nothing but failure.

-you took a deep breath, trying to reassure yourself that everything was okay and he was just exhausted and drained, just like you were.

-you packed the dishes in boxes, storing them in the fridge as you, too, no longer had an appetite.

-after taking a shower, you laid in bed, where you found akaashi already laying on his side. a soft smile made its way onto your lips as you got ready to snuggle in his warmth, prepared to release all the tension that had built up throughout the day through sleep.

-as you reached out to him, you could feel him slightly moving away, as if he didn't want to feel your touch. you got the hint well enough, he just needed space.

-yea.. he just needed space.

-but the stress that had been piling up all day drove you to think that he was simply just tired of you and that your efforts to appreciate him like he did to you were just not working. 'declining' as your professor had said. the what ifs started to make their way into your head, making up scenarios, one after another, until you settled at your worst scenario of the two of you breaking up and never talking again.

"keiji?" a small 'hm' left his lips.

"please... please don't leave me." you choked out the words, trying to refrain yourself from bursting out into tears at the very moment.

-you felt the sudden turn, the movement shaking the bed, as he finally faced you for the first time that night.

-he could see the wandering tears in your eyes, as you pursued your lips, making an effort to hold back your tears. he could feel himself hugging you as fast as he could, holding your shrinking figure in his arms. you trembled against him as soft whimpers filled the room, as you tainted his shirt with your flowing tears.

"i promise i will be better keiji."

-he simply just planted a kiss on your hair, as he gently rubbed your hair.

"no y/n. you are already more than the best for me. i'm sorry for making you feel like i would leave you."

"i'm sorry keiji... i know you're having a bad day but i just happened to too, i know you would never leave me."

"want to talk about it, love?"

"okay keiji, then you can tell me yours too." -you looked up at him, gently handing him a smile to receive one back.

-he lowered his head down to give you a small peck.

"you've got yourself a deal then."
