like it’s not just that they didn’t get to be together after everything, it’s how much they each lost of themselves the moment the plane crashed. like they both lost the opportunity to grow up to become the people they should’ve been. like it’s more apparent that van’s life was changed and derailed by everything that happened, but taissa also would’ve been a drastically different person if she hadn’t gone through that.
they both just deserved so much better. they deserved a future together. they deserved to realize they loved each other under normal circumstances.
like I just keep coming back to van’s “a past where we believed being happy was something that was actually possible not the one that happened.” like they lost any chance they had at happiness so young.
