If you want to make your curse even pettier, curse something specific. Dont just curse them or their person, curse their happiness. Make it so that they dont even trust it anymore

Give your curse a natural end date. A common one I use is "when the apologize" or "when they right their wrongs." This works even better if that person has good warding or spooky guides. It slips in easier. Also, curses that end on their own are harder to break.

GOD im so tired of fear mongering in the witch community, like PLEASE stop telling people to be afraid of rocks or tools or shit you found in the fucking woods.

"Don't let others look into your scrying mirror"

LIES. The world doesn't fucking revolve around you or me, its very uncommon for energies to randomly harrass you.

Just like in real life, things aren't out to get you! Treat spirits like people, most don't give a fuck about what you're doing. Protect yourself when you feel it is necessary. And yes, sometimes a negative energy might randomly latch on to you and make you feel sick for a day. BIG FUCKING DEAL. I feel like being afraid of every unknown magical energy is the same logic as being like "everyone in my life is going to hurt me." Its unrealistic. Relax.

Morgen

A more Siren-like cousin of European Merpeople, Morgens are native to the waters of Breton and of Wales - both inland and coastal, being uniquely able to handle both fresh and saltwater - and, despite the distances between these places, will regularly make travels between their colonies to meet with cousins. Morgens are known for singing so enchantingly as to convince those they sing to of illusions beneath the waves, at which point they will drown and eat them. This has been largely curtailed by recent ward applications around the territories of these creatures but there is only ever so much magic can do.

In some myths it was Morgens who taught the great Dark Witch Morgan le Fay (also called Morgana) how to enchant and entrap things with magic, and that it was their influence which made her magics so impenetrable and powerful against the magics of Merlin. The beauty of Morgens is oft told of, and some stories claim that they are the cause of the fall of the city of Ys, now a complex mer-colony off the French Coast, and they are often claimed to exist around the coast of Somerset in England, though sightings are rare.

While Morgens are not nearly as deadly as mer such as Sirens, Adaro or Rusalka - and indeed have had some positive human interactions, with a half-human Morgen being raised by her wixen father - they are nonetheless capable of being incredibly dangerous, and it is not unusual for local groups to place wards around the waters Morgens live in, in order to ensure they are not enchanted and drowned.

Witch things to add in your room, poor person edition

Fuck it Most of witchcraft people tell you to buy shit. So here's some stuff u can do for free

grab some sticks from the ground, bind them together in a shape you like, add intent (usually protection), hang it up

make a flower crown, add protection intent, dry it out, hang it up. protection spell and real ward. regularly recharge intent.

dry plants, set warding intent, hang them up.

crushed eggshells on your window sill to prevent bad energy.

wear a bandana or veil somewhere on your body, sometimes i use mine as belts, to protect from bad vibes.

paint your nails in the color meaning you want. mine are pink for self attraction rn

when you light up a candle always ask if theres a spirit or entity there, pyromancy skills can be learned through google, tumblr, and tiktok.

Regularly clean and rearrange your altar if you can't practice everyday, this keeos the space clean and shows entities around that even if ur not active, you're still a witch

A cup of water can be an offering to anyone, imagine being an entity and you can't have water at all for centuries??

If you have glasses, draw a sigil on them while you clean them (i usually wash mine with soap and water to make it extra clean ((and dry with paper towels)))

Give your wall art jobs. Sure they can be decorative, or they can be extra eyes to watch you while you sleep to make sure no one messes with you. (Ive had so much wall art fall in the middle of the night and turns out smth was trying to get in my room...)

If you have black-out/thick curtains, let the sun in!!! I keep them tied during the day so i can use natural light and ease up my electricity bill

Change ur bedsheets semi regularly, it doesn't need to be every week, but keep in mind bedbugs and other entities can get trapped there... or even try to get there to make your sleep unrestful.

Earth signs: are grounded and practical but they can also easily get stuck literally or mentally in certain thought processes, because just like the earth it takes a lot to get them to actually move or change, like earthquakes or mudslides or even Pangea just over long periods of time, or sometimes it just needs a comet to come in and completely change the way they work or think, they need to remember that they cannot let themselves become stagnant and know that though it takes great effort to change--especially the way they think, they have the hands to mold who they wish to become.

Fire signs: ever changing, growing and always going towards what brings them joy or enlightenment, can feel like they over power a space and are lonely in their growth, but free in their dance to learn the balance between destruction and creation and what it means for them, to keep finding a light or to be their own, they are centered and sure of what they want but their unpredictable way of moving and changing can be jarring to others, while others might fear them because of their self assuredness they need to remember their center of good and come from a place of warmth, you can be your own light, but don't let your self destructiveness take over
