Hey! I’ve just bought your velvet worm pattern and I’m planning on buying fabric to make it very soon— however, all of the fabric widths available at my local store are a tiny bit under the recommended width (58.25 inches rather than 60.) Are there any significant adjustments that need to be made to the pattern because of this, or is it possible to just go ahead as written?
Just go ahead as written! You would want to make adjustments for major shifts: eg moving to a ~44" wide fabric or a ~108" wide fabric. An inch or three won't make a big enough difference to matter in the grand scheme.
Enjoy the pattern and let me know if you have any more questions!

Do you no longer have the oarfish scarf for sale?
Hi! I haven't made a new batch of scarves for a while, unfortunately.
Over the last 18 months I've had a lot less time and energy to put towards this shop, for very exciting reasons! I've gotten a full-time job, moved into a house with a yard I can garden in, and adopted a cat.
I absolutely want the shop to stay up! And I will still make things for it on occasion. However, it's become such a small part of my life compared to the pandemic where it was most of my income.
I've had mixed feelings about reducing the priority of the shop. Of course I feel bad leaving it to the wayside, and there are always people who tell me I'm 'wasting my potential' by 'throwing it away'. On the other hand though, when I was depending on this shop to survive, I lost so much of the energy or drive to do the cosplay and creative work that had been my soul and my joy for YEARS. I felt like whenever I was working for myself or taking a break I was wasting my time when I could be making a profit. I'm only just now feeling like I'm getting back into it.
This has been a long way to say: Oarfish scarves are one of the things I still love to make! I promise they WILL be back! However, I'm afraid I can't give any solid promises as to when.

How often to you sell the moth capes? Extremely cute and love your work!
Hi, thanks for reaching out!
Unfortunately I don't have time or energy to sell the moth capes anymore. However, I'm happy to advise any way you need to on the pattern!

Every so often I open the pressure pot and think "this is the best set I've ever pulled, how can I top this?" Except it keeps happening!
Tumblr media
(Can you guess who these dice are based on? I'm going to ink them black and red if that helps...)
This is the last set I'm making in preparation for an upcoming show- a collection of Bell's Hells dice! Every character in the current party, all the guests, plus a recent villain! (Minus Bertrand, but only because of time).
The first chance to get them will be Friday and Saturday October 7-8, at Mayhem Comics in Clive, Iowa. Check the shop (lilleviathan on Etsy) right afterwards, I will list all that remain!
Now I'm off to the resin room to get another two of these sets going.

Mothman is back!
Tumblr media
Now that I have a proper sewing space again, I was able to get out this Mothman cape between projects! I'm so excited to have the capacity to do large projects like this more.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
As of now, this Small size Mothman cape is available in the store!
I have other projects in the works for the end of October, so I can't guarantee any more in time for Halloween. However, keep checking in and I will let you know if that changes!

New dice are up in the shop! Can you tell I've been having fun with foil?
I'll be taking these to my show Saturday the 3rd. If something catches your eye be sure to grab them before someone else does!
If you don't see quite what you want, I offer custom dice commissions as well!

WHAT should I ink these dice? The concept was "rip in space-time" and they came out super well!
Going around tons of ideas between dark brassy black, pearly white, silver, gold, even not inking them at all and just letting the design come through.
I'm finishing up a ton of sets for the show on Saturday, and of course I'm getting them up in the shop for you all as well.

It was a little spendier than I intended BUT I now have a second pressure pot! I’ve slowly been improving my resin space and tools, casting all the time.
I’ve also found a studio space that will allow me to get back into sewing more. The past few months have been crazy with convention prep and getting used to a new cat in the house, but I’ve been steadily working on a lot of things behind the scenes and I’m excited to share them soon!
My next show will be on September 3, the Saturday before Labor Day, at Gabriel House in Des Moines Iowa. This will mark the one-year anniversary of discovering the local art scene that fits my niche, and I’m really proud of how far I’ve come in that time.
The show after that will be at Mayhem Comics in Clive Iowa, a DnD Art Exhibition! I’m working on a special project for that one, and I think I’ll hang on to the reveal until it’s a little further along. Keep posted!

State of the Workshop
It's been a minute since I've been active here, mostly because the rest of my life has been taking all of my free time.
I moved this spring! I'm still working on fitting out my new resin room with all its safety features, and organizing all the stuff that landed in my new sewing room during the move.
I have had less time and energy than I hoped to devote to the shop while working on my new place. Much of my activity has happened IRL, at in-person sales! Info for those will usually come up on my Instagram first (lilleviathanshop), if you're in the Des Moines area don't be a stranger!
I am very close to being able to cast resin again, and am chomping at the bit to try out new dice designs. Keep an eye out!
