this is your gentle reminder to stop fighting against your adhd and instead structure your life around it
buy a pack of chapsticks and put one in the pocket of all of your coats and jackets because you always forget to bring one and chapped lips is sensory hell
leave important things where you can see them. if they go in a box or a drawer you will forget they exist
put any appointments or deadlines in your phone calendar As Soon As you get them. set a reminder for a week before, a day before, an hour before, as many as you need as often as you need them.
when that little voice in your head says "i dont need to write that down, ill remember it" that is the devil talking!!! write it down anyway!!
plan for down time. have a few hours at the end of every day to just do fun stuff like engage in your hyperfixations. even if you didnt get all of your work done that day, have the rest anyway. you probably spent the whole day beating yourself up for not doing what you Should be doing, so you still need the break.
if you never eat vegetables because its too much effort to chop and cook them, get the frozen or canned shit. it doesnt go off for ages and you just have to microwave it. theres no point buying fresh vegetables if they just keep going off and being left to rot in the bottom of your fridge
if you struggle to decide what to have for dinner every day, take the decision out of it. choose a set of meals and eat those on rotation until you get sick of them, then choose some new ones and do it again.
its not stupid if it works! our brains literally have a chemical deficiency. you are allowed to accommodate yourself. go forth and stop making your life more difficult than it has to be because "this shouldn't be this hard". it is hard, so make it easier.

I'm just saying, if there's a curse that runs along your family line and you don't tell your kids about it, how the hell are they supposed to go on a quest to stop it?

In her essay Less TikTok, More Screaming, Persinette writes that these e-therapists have turned healing into “a religion, a lifestyle, and above all, a brand” while promoting a culture of isolation and individual optimization. In this ecosystem, “...therapy has become a litmus test for social belonging and inherent goodness, a sign that one is aware of and has adapted to the newest standards of how to behave.”  The social standard this culture offers is one of controlled, placated solitude. Its narrative often insists that you’re surrounded by toxic people who are trying to hurt you, and the only way to ever become the person you’re meant to be is to cut them all off, retreat into a high-gloss cocoon of talk therapy and Notion templates, and emerge a non-emotive butterfly who will surely attract the relationships you’ve always deserved — relationships with other “healed” people, who don’t hurt you or depend on you or force you to feel difficult, taxing emotions. And finally, your life will be as frictionless and shiny as you, alone, have always deserved for it to be.

Thanks for the tag @maxattax!
I’ve tried to pare back my wips because having a lot is tricky. These are my current ones:
Fantasy Zine fic: I can’t say anything yet, but it’s fantasy body horror involving a fresh origin story and I’m very excited for the zine to be released so everyone can read it!
Invisobang fic: Another secret piece, yet again involving soft body horror! Loosely inspired by Coraline.
GIW Sleepover: Working title for a oneshot sequel to Shift. Dani-centric. Supposed to be fluffy and fun.
Severed: Still working on the fic where Danny got his leg accidentally amputated in a fight and is now trying to deal with the actual repercussions and acceptance of something so traumatic. He’s having a bad time.
I have a list of Phic Phight prompts that caught my eye as well but there’s a lot going on and I don’t know how many I’ll actually have the time to get to since my computer is in for repair…
@lexosaurus @bibliophilea and anyone else who sees this and wants to give it a go!
Prompt: make a new post with the names of all the files in your WIP folder, regardless of how non-descriptive or ridiculous. let people send you an ask with the title that most intrigues them, and then post a little snippet or tell them something about it! and then tag as many people as you have WIPs.
Thank you for the tag @yojfull!!
Only going to include WIPs I might actually finish, there are many more that are currently deemed abandoned.
You Were A Demon (original, demon romance)
Knotty Magic (original, yarn adventure)
Siblings Amirite (original, siblings)
Show Yourself (original, ghosts)
UE AU (fic, Danny Phantom)
Show Me a Great Plan (fic, Good Omens)
Tagging some people I suspect have fun WIPs in the works, but only if they want to play: @lou-wilham @jaegereska @ashspecter @lucymason217 @bludazey @lettersandinkstains

Fun things to put in your DnD campaign and then just never explain
·       Ghost hitchhikers that travel with the party for a few hours and disappear into frost.
·       Giant amorphous lumps of flesh washing up on the beach.
·       Cryptids from a wildly different genre or setting. Bonus points if they just find the cryptid dead in the woods with no explanation.
·       Cattle abduction/ mutilation that might be witches, might be aliens.
·       An in-universe scientology style cult.
·       A wildly silly villain who is secretly horrifyingly serious and a horrifyingly serious villain who is secretly wildly silly.
·       Really specific examples of Morman folklore despite there being no Mormon’s in the setting and none of you’re players being Mormon.
·       A crashed UFO, “Expedition to the barrier peaks” style.
·       Overly specific descriptions for the culinary traditions and tradition dance and clothing of every town and village we meet, to the point where you players can only think of the free city of Grayhawk as “The place with the Beignets” and they keep coming back to one specific village in Keoland for “That really good cheese and herb dip.”
·       In game gambling, and fantasy versions of real world but obscure pub games like Aunt Sally, Elver-drinking, Crown and anchor, or Bilge-thwapping.
·       Brain parasites. And not just the fantasy ones.
·       On that note, fuck it, Yerks.
·       Yerks having beef with mind-flayers, who find them delicious.
·       Bards being unable to pass any crossroad without a devil trying to trade their soul for musical excellence.
·       Dwarfs don’t have hair, they have Flagella, so their beards are prehensile.
·       The Erfurt latrine disaster.
·       About a %10 chance of every village being horribly folk-horror in a Wicker man/ Midsomar type way.
·       Needlessly sexual Morris dancing.

when i play among us in public games i’m usually a pink astronaut in a pirate hat named hamlet and i know that lots of kids and teens playing with me haven’t heard of or read hamlet yet, so i like to imagine that months or years in the future when they do read hamlet they just picture the titular character like

The Void Yawns Softly
Summary:
Despite saving the world, nobody knows that Danny Fenton is anything other than a perfectly normal astronaut candidate training for the first manned mission to Mars. He's generally happy to keep it this way, too, until he's disqualified from the team at the last minute. They jet into space without him, only to go dark on comms a month into their journey while he's left back on Earth, unable to save them from whatever went wrong. He has to rescue them. He's the only one who can... But when NASA sends him up there to achieve the impossible, Danny comes face to face with the very thing he fears the most: despite his love of the stars, space is cold and empty and ready to destroy him, and when his welcome aboard the stricken ship isn't what he'd expected, he's going to need everything he has at his disposal to bring them home again.

The Way of all Flesh
Summary:
"Don’t think I haven’t noticed how jumpy you are, especially around thin spots.” The strange term made his heart stutter like a frightened bird. “What are you talking about?” he choked, unable to force any greater volume through his increasingly tight throat. “Thin spots,” she said again, and the phrase sank into his brain with the slimy film of guilt. “You know, places where the veil is thin." . When Danny moves back to Amity Park, he feels like he's being followed by things that other people can't quite see. There has to be a logical explanation, right? After all, it's not as if ghosts are real or anything.

Shift
Summary:
It turns out that the views of Agents O and K are not held by the rest of the Guys in White... which they discover when they bring in a fourteen-year-old half-ghost kid for "painful experiments".

You were the caretaker for the mythical beasts of the royal family. Yesterday they decided to replace you with some incompetent noble, before kicking you out of the castle. You then spent the night in a nearby forest. However today you were awakened by the beasts who chose to follow you.
