I'm not bisexual (I'm a lesbian) but I am so happy about this type of representation that is happening right now!

Buck being bisexual is so important and opens so many doors for 911 to explore and characters to introduce!

I know everyone wants buddie but we also need to acknowledge how huge this is for bisexual representation. Buck's bisexuality is going to be a huge step FOR HIM, and he doesn't need to get with his best friend. He's going to need his friends whilst he goes on his journey.

I'll say it once, I'll say it again:

I don't care if the ship becomes canon but having queer representation is so huge for the community and the fans and casual watchers.

We need representation of strong men being queer, being vulnerable, being true to themselves. We need two men have strong platonic relationships and being supportive of each other as they go on their self-discovery journeys.

Friendships are just as important as sexual/romantic relationships!

(I still want buddie don't get me wrong, I'm just tired of people being upset that it's Tommy opening this storyline, but that's what makes it SO MUCH BETTER!)

I think it's really important to have it be someone other than Eddie because queerness is already so complicated, the situation needs be simple, and starting with Eddie would not be. Tommy is outside the firefam. Buck and Tommy don't have a history. If they as a relationship don't work out, the consequences are the same as any other situation. This way, as he's finding his footing, he doesn't have to grapple with both unsureness in queerness AND the stakes around unsureness surrounding feelings for his best friend. This way, he can find his footing to find his way to sureness and security and comfort before separately dealing with the stress that is the high stakes of a relationship with history and ties.

Apparently I'm not able to shut up about Tommy Kinard today but Jeez, the man has known Buck for what, a couple days (?) and yet he drove all the way to his place before his shift (asking someone to tell him his address ahsnjdjxj) just because he wanted to make sure that replacing him or causing trouble between him and Eddie was never his intention.

That means that he was perceptive enough to read all the signs of Buck's jealousy/discomfort about the whole situation. And he also told Buck exactly all the things he needed to hear, especially the fact that Christopher always talks about him.

I was thinking about some people being upset that Buck’s bi awakening wasn’t with Eddie but this makes perfect sense to me. After meeting Tommy and the kiss, Buck is also discovering he’s attracted to men. While their relationship flourishes and he explores his sexuality internally, I’m thinking that this will allow him to question his feelings for Eddie. Buck and Eddie have been best friends for years and without that kiss and future relationship with Tommy, I feel like he wouldn’t think about Eddie romantically on his own.

That being said, I’m REALLY excited for this new relationship with Tommy!!!

i just. i keep saying it because its true, but we are so so lucky to have oliver stark. he loves evan buckley so so much, and he treats him so kindly and with such tenderness, and he holds space for us as a fanbase as well, and that’s SO fucking rare. he understands buck on a visceral level and you can tell in the way that he portrays him, and we’re just so fucking lucky that the stars aligned and he got that audition truly.
