ralsei’s expression is a mischievous one, watching the other freeze up like that, seeing her cheek scales darken into a warm purple hue.  he giggles sweetly as he’s gripped by the shoulders and shook, a smile ever present, tongue slightly stuck out between his fangs. 🍰 “ what? can’t a guy show his friends a little affection from time to time? “ he says, doe-eyed and clasping his paws together, the face of innocence, really. 🍰

but, a pause, expression turning a bit shy, and more genuine then mom -ents before, he fidgets with one of his ears. “ really, though. you looked a little down, so i thought it might cheer you up, you know? “ he admits. 🍰

“I’m fine, really. Must have just done too much today prior, I guess.. or maybe you’re just boring me to death. Is that your secret plan?” It’s tacked on half-heartedly at the end, as the prince is far more focused in his thoughts.

ralsei is almost a little disappointed when asriel begins to stir, he was enjoying their little cuddle session, after all. but, nonetheless he sits up a little, and nods. 🍰

adjusting his glasses, he smiles at asriel’s half-hearted attempts at being mean, chuckling softly, he replies, “ no, it’s not. at least not this time. you live, for now. “ words dripping with a playful sarcasm, and he lightly nudges asriel in the side. 🍰

A strange realization, that. Hearing the other lament a similar woe to him about the difficulties of remaining looking as one wants. So he sits there, watching, and contemplating the words. Ralsei understanding that part, huh…?

“Aw, you really going to tell a prince that you’re uncomfortable and not expect them to help?” A teasing tone, tilting his head as he goes to help clean up. A hum as he glances over to the other with a surprisingly sincere smile before he continues.

“C’mon, you want me to feel relaxed enough to not strain myself, so you can’t just say that and not expect me to want the same for you, huh?” He asks, not particularly realizing how genuine the question sounds this time.

ralsei gives asriel a soft smile when he joins him at his side, helping clean off the altar, putting bowls away, wiping down it’s surface, two working in tandem. 🍰

he rolls his eyes jokingly roll at the other’s teasing, lightly elbowing the other in the side with a light laugh, “ it isn’t that bad! i wouldn’t say it’s uncomfortable, i was just... trying to relate a bit, let you know it isn’t just a you thing, y’know? “ 🍰

a pause, pink eyes wander for a moment as his expression turns bashful, a finger lightly twirling a few strands of fur, fidgeting. “ i dunno, it’d be nice, i think, however... i’m a bit shy about that side of me, that ‘true form’ of mine. “ but, asriel sounded just so genuine, it honestly made his heart flutter a little. 🍰

There’s a wave, after handing a Tasque back and watching the woman had back to the Cafe. He glances down to a clipboard, putting a little mark on the sheet of tasks he’d been doing around here. Settling disputes, helping find lost cats, and all of those menial tasks. Simple matters, really, and– ah, just in time.

Gaze finds the other prince scampering out into town, turning with that same friendly smile he’s been wearing since arriving here and realizing the other wasn’t even awake yet. 

“And there’s the sleepyhead! Kept poor lil’ me having to do your job for ya! You’re lucky I’m a prince, too, or I’d ask for a raise!”

Yes, that’s a voice somehow devoid of the usual venom that was filled with. That sweet little prince that once was that Asriel was acting like while he was doing this song and dance.

panic courses through ralsei’s small form as he rushes downstairs, then stum -bles over his feet as he skids to a stop, turning the corner. he hadn’t meant to sleep in, not at all, but he dozed off early, forgetting to set his alarm entirely. 🍰

he pushes open the castle gates, and skitters into town square, already mumbling his sleepy apologizes to no one in particular, clearly flustered. 🍰

“ i’m here! please forgive me, i’m such a terrible prince, i--asriel? “ ralsei comes to a halt, spotting the other, clipboard in hand, smile on his face. his confusion is almost palpable, “ you were...?-- “ he then shakes his head, snapping himself out of his stupor. 🍰  

“ i see. well... you really didn’t have to do all that... for that, i give you my thanks. “  his expression softens, a paw now resting over his heart. a thoughtful pause. 🍰

“ you’re too sweet. i think you deserve a little reward at least, no? for dealing with my negligence like this. “ perhaps it was just the tiredness, convincing him this was a good idea, but, nonetheless. ralsei leans in, pressing a quick kiss to asriel’s fluffy cheek, pulling back with a smile. 🍰

“ now... what’s next on the agenda, hm, mister prince? “ he then brushes right past that action, and tries to peek at asriel’s clipboard, hands politely tucked behind his back. 🍰
