Hey! :) What's the inspiration behind your paintings?

Oh, that's a huge question.

I mostly paint self-portraits and my inspiration comes a lot from life. I'm learning oil painting by myself for four years now and this experience became so important that it slighty became my main subject, even if it's not an evidence ahah My paintings can be questions, wishes for the future or just a way to memorise a particular state of mind; this start point is often expressed in the title of each image.

I try to paint with what I have around me, the backround are inspired by the place where I live. I also work in a workshop with two ceramists and it's probably one of the explanaitions of why there are son many pots and jars in my work, I can paint them directly form life and change their shapes and sizes.

For the historical part I can't deny that the christian imagery had a lot of influence on my symbolic. Even if I'm not a religious person it's a part of my education. I noticed I unconsciously take the place of the Christ in my compositions and now like to play with it.

For the paintors, if I had to chose three names, I look at Rembrandt, Mancini, Hammershøi for the deads and Lisa Ivory, Laurent Proux, Jean-Baptiste Boyer for the contemporary ones.
