Lance’s Charizard is what did it, which I knew would happen. Osmium took that first Flamethrower like a champ and even got a damn solid hit in with Blizzard before going down. Badass to the end.
Well, that’s it! The challenge is over. I honestly wasn’t sure I’d even get this far, and I got FAR. I’m relatively confident we could have taken out most of Lance’s team if not for that Charizard, or if we had even one more team member still alive. Oh well. So, pretty damn good if I do say so myself. This was as fun and stressful and heart-wrenching as I hoped it would be, and I’m glad I gave it a shot. The fallen will not be forgotten! And not only them, but the other friends in the PC. Chert, my shiny Pichu, is still near and dear to my heart, as is Zircon, my Haunter who helped me out a lot. Much love to all of them. Man, Pokemon is a good game, isn’t it.
I’m glad some people have enjoyed keeping up with this! I appreciate it!!
And with that, GOOD NIGHT!

Hell yeah, even after Lance used a Full Restore Osmium managed to take down his strongest Dragonite no problem. Good for you, buddy.

And then there was one. Congrats, Osmium, you made it the farthest. Don’t worry--no matter what happens, I’m fuckin’ proud of you.

Silicon outsped and defeated the Gyarados, and then outsped, paralyzed, and half-defeated a Dragonite before going down. And the Dragonite maxed out its Outrage so it’s about to para-fusion itself. Good work, Silicon. Couldn’t have picked a better way to go.

Okay well wasn’t that a fun, cheery time for everyone! Now let’s have a nice friendly chat with our friendly friend Lance.
Quarry has two Pokemon left alive. They happen to be the two that can theoretically get us the farthest, except for the Charizard, which will absolutely destroy us. Gyarados is first, and fingers crossed Silicon can kill it with Thundershock before it kills them. Yes, they still have Thundershock. Gen II fucked me over. Osmium is packing Blizzard, so there’s that. We aren’t gonna win this. But that’s okay. This was my first Nuzlocke ever, and I tried as hard as I possibly could. It just wasn’t in the cards for us. All we can do is go out fighting. Here we come, Lance.

Not in a Nuzlocke, Karen. Not in a Nuzlocke.

It was Pursuit. Possibly one of the most tragic ways to lose a Pokemon in a Nuzlocke. But we move on. C’mon Silicon.
We have two Pokemon left, in case you weren’t keeping track.

THE HOUNDOOM IS DOWN. THE HOUNDOOM IS DOWN AND MARBLE IS STILL KICKING. HOLY SHIT.
All that’s left is Murkrow. AND MURKROW HAS PURSUIT. Marble is going down no matter what unless Karen makes the dumbest mistake ever. So here’s the question: do I try to swap Marble out and pray it doesn’t use Pursuit, or keep him in, see if he somehow survives a powered-down Pursuit/is faster, and try to take it out with him? I honestly don’t know what the chances are for her to use Pursuit because I don’t know how smart the AI is. I literally don’t know what to do.
...I’m gonna swap. This might be completely wrong, but I’d guess that Murkrow not using Pursuit (and using Faint Attack or Quick Attack) instead is a little more likely than a Slowbro being faster than a Murkrow. I salute thee, Marble. You’re awesome and strong and it would be GREAT if I could have you against Lance (though beating him is...unlikely at this point), but there’s nothing else I can do.

THE HOUNDOOM WAS FASTER. SO SHE COULDN’T GET A HIT IN. WEEEEELP. NICE KNOWIN’ YA, FOLKS.

So my IDEAL option here would be to keep Osmium in, take the Flamethrower and live, and then destroy it with an Earthquake. But here’s the problem. If Osmium dies, then I won’t last a second against Lance. I have to protect him. But if I swap now, then someone’s gonna take heavy damage. Sulfur is the only one not vulnerable to this thing, so...I think it has to be her. But she happens to be second-most damaged, and this Houndoom is gonna hit hard. I could lose her. And if I do, then I wasted that swap for nothing because I’d just be back at square one. I feel like both sides may (or WILL) end in tragedy.
I’ve been brainstorming for like 10 minutes now, and... I think Sulfur is simply the safest bet. When it comes down to it, this is what will happen: Sulfur gets swapped in and gets hit with Flamethrower; she’s hurt real bad but survives (unless it fucking crits or something), and gets a hit in with Fly; the Houndoom will then attack her again. If she lives, amazing, maybe we can two-shot it with Fly and keep her alive. If she dies, then she’ll have done some damage, and Marble can get a clean swap-in, only take one attack and finish it off with Surf. This will be bloody, I can tell. But it’s the best I can do. Sulfur, I’ve said it a million times but I love you, you’re my oldest friend and you’ve gotten me through so much, and now I need this from you. We have to get past this Houndoom. Giratina protect us.

Alright. Vileplume and Gengar are down, too, and nobody on our side is under half health yet. But we have taken damage. What’s left is the Murkrow, and the hellbeast. And I think the hellbeast is coming out next.

Okay. Okay. Managed to two-shot Umbreon no problem with Earthquake. One down, four more nightmares to go.

So Karen has a pretty diverse team, which is both good and bad. On the plus side, I have like nothing to counter Dark. On the minus side, she has a whole lot of coverage. There’s a loooot of things to be worried about, including her Gengar with Destiny Bond, but my main concerns are the Umbreon she leads with, and her Houndoom. Again, I have fuck-all to use against Dark-types, so all I can do is hit as hard as I can with Osmium and hope I can take out the Umbreon before it has a chance to set up all the annoying things it can do. And the Houndoom...is very dangerous. Osmium, Marble and Silicon are both weak to it, and it’s definitely a lot faster than Marble. I think Marble can take a Crunch and live, and Osmium a Flamethrower but it’d be close. They’d definitely have to one-shot it, and...they’d have to get swapped in with near-max HP. Good time to mention again that I have been playing under Battle-Style: Set, which means I don’t get any free switch-ins. I can feel doom looming. Looming doom. Wish me luck.
