Which also, posting about Sebastian reminds me:
I want to write RSG but I don't know if I can tell the story I wanted to tell originally. And I don't know if the story I want to tell now can be told with (all) the characters I would be using to tell RSG.
However. I still want to write queerplatonic Forthur and tell a story about both of those characters recovering from their shit.
I don't know if the right way to do that is to write RSG the way I originally intended. It might end up being a lot shorter of a series than anticipated. It might be less of a full depiction of the events of Ford's recovery and more like snapshots of moments that would happen in those events.
I have other things I want to write but I don't know how to write them and be the writer of RSG at the same time.
I'll figure it out.
This is the year I turn Arthur's age btw and that's just so much of a thing to me

Well, it's Sebastian's deathday today.
I feel like I've already said everything on this blog that I could have to say about him. I've said it all years and years ago but: I loved him, I'm glad I knew him, and I'm glad he helped me become the person I am now.
He shared perspectives that became very important later in my life for me to have, and even though I have a lot of trauma from seeing what happened to him, I also believe that seeing that helped me develop a level of understanding and empathy that has affected, for the better, how I navigate situations and friendships I've found myself in.
I'm having a gin and Darjeeling and watching Withnail and I for him. I hadn't actually had a gin and Darjeeling until the day before last and it's just as good as he made it out to be. This will be the first time I observe his deathday as someone who drinks.
I think I'll leave an offering at my altar for him. I have my prayer cards of the Egyptian gods up on it right now and while what I actively worship now is the Void, I feel like it'd be appropriate to have them there on a deathday.
Despite what a somber day this is, I'm honestly in a pretty good mood because I'm thinking about how glad I am that I knew Sebastian and how happy I am to be who I am now because of him.

Road to Perdition remains a remarkable piece of cinema; alone among the four films we  will discuss this month, but more than this, it remains a  superbly taut thriller about revenge, redemption, and the bond betweeen a  father and son.

Oh man yeah! (The phrase "why has it all got to be so terribly loud?", from this interview, was a major inside joke with me and the friend I reblogged this from back when we were classic rock-obsessed teenagers adjfiosjdfg)

“But why has it all got to be so terribly loud? For me frankly, it’s too loud. I just can’t bear it.”

when i was a kid my parents bought me an inflatable doll of the Scream by Edvard Munch (??) that was significantly taller than i was at the time and i used to slow-dance with it and pretend it was my boyfriend. It had its hands attached to its head obviously so it felt like he was always a bit horrified to be forced to dance with me

We're back with numbered episodes, (at last) as Thom and Joe take a look at the worlds of otome videogames and isekai as the duo turn to the first season of My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom! As they recount the evolution of isekai as a genre, to its oversaturation in the late 2010s, so Thom and Joe consider how the tale of Catarina Claes, a former otaku now finding herself the villainess of her favourite videogame, Fortune Lover, and forced to try and avoid her fate, stands out from a crowded genre.
