Which lenses to take with me?
I have my first car/Mustang meeting in a long time coming up and I am unsure which lenses to take with me.
I work with a Nikon D5700 and I own the following three lenses - NIKKOR AF-P 18-55mm 3.5-5.6 G DX - NIKKOR AF-S 50mm 1.8 G - NIKKOR AF-S 35mm 1.8 G
The weather is going to be sunny/lightly cloudy. Every year it is freaking busy so I am taking into account that there are a lot of people walking through my frame. The event always has a row of cars on each side of a road (Belgium/Dutch width) so I am limited my space.
I love working with the 50mm but I think the 35mm is a better option because of the space limitation.

Trying to convince new employer we need a camera over an iPhone…
Howdy folks,
Hope this is the right sub, but if not please delete. Basically, there’s a budget for a new camera at the non-profit I work for, though some in the org want to set me up with a nice iPhone “because they can do anything a camera can do.”
I come from a journalism background and shot photos, both action and otherwise for about five years. Obviously no expert, but I do know my way around a DSLR…
Anyways, how do I convince them we need a camera over a phone? I’m thinking something like the T6i because of it’s versatility and such, but 1) was hoping for some suggestions and 2) suggestions on how to convince them…
I’m very new to the position but if I come up with a good argument it’s likely I’ll get a camera. We’re mostly going to be doing event photos, what I’d call feature stuff, and something that can shoot photos that can be put on large posters as well as online (newsletters, websites, etc.)
Thanks!

What do you use for keeping track of scouted locations
This is primarily a question for outdoor photographers but basically I’m wondering how you keep a track of locations that you’ve been to that you want to return to at a later point.
What if quite like is a map that I can add photos to and potentially tag or add a description to. At the moment I’ve just been using what3words to overlay the location that I still in an album on my phone. It’s not ideal so I’m wondering if there’s a better solution for this.

German photo competition winner (odd(?))
list of winners
so. i honestly have no room to judge pictures, but somehow this feels odd at places (mostly place 9 and place 61), especially as the Contest prides themselves as one of the biggest and as having a
"top-class expert jury"
even weirder to me is with this teenager version in 2020 from the same content. place 1- 4 are perfectly fine, but especially place 11 and 32 seem odd again
i don't really have a question, but im just wondering if its just me and if i have a weird perception or if some choices are indeed weird.

Which warmer cities are great for photographers / artists to live in ?
I’m a photographer / artist based in London, currently travelling and thinking about moving to a new place.
London has been great in many ways but the terrible weather and the high living costs have just become too unbearable for me.
I’d love to move somewhere where it’s cheaper to live, where there’s a decent creative / artistic community and where it’s warmer & sunnier.
Primarily I just want to focus more on my artistic practice — focus on my personal projects, photo books etc although I would like to keep growing as a commercial / editorial photographer as well (I work across fashion, lifestyle, commissioned portraiture for artists, etc). However I wouldn’t mind travelling to bigger cities for the bigger jobs and living somewhere else where it suits my lifestyle better.
I’d love to stay in Europe although open to Latam and Asia as well as possible alternatives.
So far I resonate most with Lisbon , Portugal — seems to have a thriving artist community, relatively cheap and good weather. of course commercially it doesn’t compare to Paris or London. Portugal has been experiencing a massive migration recently though and I wonder if that might be a downside. Porto is also an alternative, probably even less opportunities but apparently a more authentic artistic community
Other places I’m considering are Barcelona, Madrid, Mexico City, Mallorca, Ibiza (yes they’re islands , not cities ) , Oaxaca city (Mexico), Bali.
And if nothing really suits then I could live with colder winters but still somewhere cheaper than London. So Berlin, Belgrade are possible alternatives

Printing Question
Hello. Very technical question here. I am preparing for my first ever solo exhibition and I am trying to print from a canon pro 4100 printer. I have a roll of 24in x 100ft Epson enhanced Matte Roll Paper. I have recently found out that apparently Canon and Epson both hate each other and have decided to punish everyone by not making icc profiles to print on any paper from the other company. So essentially they are trying to make sure that if you have a canon printer you can only print with canon paper. I have tried looking for similar profiles to use. I don’t have the tools to create my own profile at the moment so I’m just trying to figure out a good equivalent profile that I can use. I tried to use the canon paper equivalent and it tinted the photos really weirdly and I think that’s on purpose to make it difficult to use the other brands paper. I don’t know if anyone on here has any printing experience but please let me know if you know a similar profile that I could possibly use or if you would know how to find one. Thanks!!

Dear (model) photographers do you usually lead the conversations?
I’m usually not the guy that starts the conversations unless it’s a close friend of mine or feel comfortable to be around with.
I really want to make sure that the people i meet, my clients are having a good time and my biggest fear is having a very uncomfortable/awkward relationship, us not bonding
All i can think of is, be nice. (That’s was just a short example, there’s much more than just being nice)

How do you plan for good conditions?
I've been doing photography for a while now, but I feel like I never get good conditions for my photos. For example, I see these YouTubers constantly getting fog, sun rays, and better light consistently. Everytime I go out, I feel like it's always grey and miserable. I check the weather a lot, but I still always get bad conditions. Maybe it's the city I live in? What are your thoughts and tips on how to get better conditions for photography?

Why some lenses are considered Macro but some other lenses with the same focal length are not labeled as Macro? They label it as Zoom Telephoto instead.
I have been looking for some EF Canon lenses.
I found an EF 75mm-300mm: Link which is labeled as Telephoto Zoom and
I found another one EF 70mm-300mm: Link which is labeled as a Macro lens.
They both are almost the same focal length range so why one can do Macro and one not?

Batch updating EXIF Title with camera details
I'm using Squarespace for my blog and title meta data can be automatically shown as the image description. I don't want to manually edit every image title, and for me the interesting thing to display is the technical info for the image, not a description.
Has anyone used a tool or script that takes camera data (model, lens, aperture, shutter speed & ISO in particular) and writes it to the exif title? In a perfect world this would be a lightroom plugin, but an external tool or script would work too.
I've been hitting google and not found anything that does what I want to do. All the exif updates are batch update every photo with the same info (i.e. photographer or city)
Thanks!

Best camera for a starter?
So i became interested in photography a while back, especially astrophotography (but not only) and i've started looking for an actual camera because even though my phone has a good camera i'd love to get an actual one. I do however have the Nikon D3000 but it is pretty outdated, and i just can't figure out the software.
The main type that i'm interested in is Astrophotography and landscape photography, but i live pretty close to a beautiful city so a bit of architectural photography too.
After looking for a bit the main cameras that i've been considering are:
Fujifilm X-T200 and Fujifilm X-T30 II
They seem to have great quality and are good for Astrophotography, and honestly the camera itself looks amazing. My only problem is that i would need to get lenses for them.
Nikon D3500, D5600 and the D7500
I already have two lenses for them, an 18-55mm and i think it was an 18-140mm. Here the problem is that from what i've seen Nikon cameras aren't really good for astrophotography, and after my experience with my D3000 i'm a bit worried the software will be similar.
Budget wise the Fujifilm X-T30 II is a bit of a stretch considering i would need lenses for it but it seems worth it?
