how kokichi would stop s/o reader from self harming </3

hi! im sorry for not posting lately!! the subject matter of this post probably gives an idea why tho lol- i’ve been having a really tough time✨so i decided to write some headcanons about how kokichi would help stop you from self harming ! its not too detailed but i hope it can help someone to know how kokichi would comfort them <3 i have a feeling that kokichi would let down his masks and try his best to help if his significant other was going through something like this!!

firstly, when Kokichi lets himself care about someone, he cares about them a lot

it’s not often that he trusts someone, and especially not often that he’ll trust someone enough to date them

so you’re really special!

when Kokichi finds out that you feel like self-harming recently, his mind immediately starts racing on ways he can help you

he just really really doesn’t want you to give into the urge to self harm!! not only would that physically hurt you but he could tell it would mentally hurt you too!

and he couldn’t have that! any sort of hurt for his beloved was off limits and unacceptable!

he’s ready to do anything to distract you or comfort you!

anything

when someone he cares about feels like this he goes into kind of a protective-supreme-leader mode!

but when it’s with you, he also goes into protective-significant-other mode!

his mind is set on protecting you in any way he can, your safety is his only priority right now :)

and he knows you need to rest to feel better! it wouldn’t be right to force you to do much when self-harm is one of the only things on your mind

basically he treats you feeling bad mentally like you’re feeling bad physically ! except feeling sad and worthless isn’t really contagious so he can cuddle with you as much as he wants! :)

he takes your hand and leads you to your bed (no matter how far away it is) and he makes sure to tuck you in carefully with lots of kisses!

forehead kisses especially! they’re the softest kisses :)

he also grabs as many stuffed animals as he thinks is necessary (which is definitely too much..) 

and he tucks them in with you!!

then of course he lays next to you and gives you lots of cuddles!!

his cuddles can be soft or tight depending on how he’s noticed you like your hugs

he’s good at figuring you out and knowing what you want/need!

if you like soft cuddles, he’ll stroke your back and your hair and he’ll draw circles on different parts of your body

if you like tight cuddles, he’ll squeeze you close and remind you he’s not letting you go!

and if you like comforting words, he has tons of messages prepared for you!

like how much he loves you, how you don’t deserve to be hurt, how things will get better one day and he will make sure of it

but if you don’t really want something sappy like that and would prefer being distracted, he’s okay with just playing a video game with you all day!

or a board game!

like monopoly!

he’ll try to go easy on you to not make you upset and potentially spiral but he’s definitely not letting you win

and he also makes sure to grab snacks, drinks and candy!

he knows it can be hard to hydrate and eat when you’re feeling really upset like this

so he’ll help you and remind you when you need to drink or eat something!

he’ll feed you if you want him to!

he just wants to make you smile!

so if you cry around him or breakdown, he’ll try his best to bring your smile back

he’s not leaving your side during this, like ever

and he’ll make sure you know that! he’s not going to let you self harm, he’s going to keep you safe!

and to make sure you’re fully safe he’ll make sure there’s no sharp or hard objects around

really if there’s anything you can self harm with, he takes it away from you

and he’ll observe you very closely to make sure you aren't doing anything like scratching yourself or hitting yourself

if you do start to do something like that, he pulls your hands away to hold them or kiss them!

also he’ll give you little reminders during your time together that you’re amazing and that he loves you 💜just so you know!

overall you’re his beloved, he wants to help you

you mean the world to him and he’s not going to let you hurt yourself! he knows you’re a wonderful person and you don’t deserve to be hurt💜

kokichi letting himself spend the beginning of the new year with the reader </3 during the killing game !

happy first day of the new year!! this is a pre-relationship type thing in the killing game where you two are friends ! but also its the killing game yknow,,, :) i just really like writing soft moments and exploring kokichi’s potential hidden side we dont see ! i know there must have been a lot going through his head besides his persona that he shows! so i wrote this :)

It was a strange announcement, hearing that it was suddenly new year’s eve. None of them even knew if Monokuma was telling the truth, why would he? But they didn’t have any other reference to what day it was, so they supposed they had to listen to him.

Some people decided to throw a party, choosing to celebrate something during this dark time. And mostly everyone chimed in, saying they would either be there or that they could help.

However, Kokichi decided to do neither, saying that whatever party they were going to throw would be “totally boring”. Despite his insulting attitude being completely normal for him, you could tell something was off. Maybe it was the excessive amount of free time you had been spending with him that let you know that...

But he exited the dining hall before you could even approach him. And he was nowhere to be found after that. He wouldn’t even open his door!

You did know that he was really good at hide and seek and it seemed like he just didn’t want to be found.  His behavior made you a little worried, but Kokichi is Kokichi and he does things no one understands sometimes. You supposed he was okay, maybe doing something in secret or just simply not wanting to talk with anyone. Besides, if he made the choice not to speak to you, it’s not like you could change that. You weren’t about to break into his room or anything.

So...you ‘celebrated’ new year’s eve without him. Of course, it was a little less fun that way, without his constant energetic and interesting presence dominating the scene. But despite how disappointing it was, you couldn’t do anything about it, you knew he wasn’t coming to see you.

..At least that’s what you thought. But it must have been a little past midnight when you heard a knock on your door.

Your first thought (or hope) was that it would be Kokichi, since of course he would stay up this late. You didn’t think your hopes would be right or anything, but as you peeked outside, the familiar sight of purple hair and memorable smile proved your suspicion.

“Y/n, my beloved!” he cheered as he opened your door, inviting himself into your room and walking right past you. His energetic tone was still there, but you couldn’t help but notice that it was...different. Like it was void of the energy he always carried around with him. Though, at least he wasn’t avoiding you anymore. Maybe you were just imagining it. Maybe you were just tired.

You closed the door and laid down on the bed next to him, as he was practically taking your bed as his own. Clearly, he wasn’t just inviting himself into your room, he was inviting himself over for a sleepover...well, it’s not like you minded.

“Soooo how’s your new year?” he inquired, his teasing smile coming onto his face, “Did you kiss anyone? Tell me, tell me, tell me!” 

Of course you didn’t kiss anyone, (especially since Kokichi was ignoring you so much..) and you easily told him that.

“Aww...that’s boring.” he pouted, looking away from you and up to the ceiling. You couldn’t help but notice how his eyes lost their light as he looked away. Like his mask was slipping or something...

You kept waiting for him to speak so you could maybe find out more about what was going on. Perhaps, the supreme leader himself actually just got tired. But nothing happened, he kept his gaze locked on the ceiling and his mouth shut. If you didn’t think something was really wrong by now, this certainly clued you in- Kokichi never let a quiet moment last this long.

There wasn’t really a clear option on what you should do here, you’ve never been met with this version of Kokichi before. Though you may have suspected some of how he acted was simply just an act, you had never seen him without that mask off. You’ve never seen him silent and still like this.

...You didn’t even know why he was acting this way. Maybe it was bad to care about someone in a killing game, but this was unusual and you did care about if he was okay or not. You tried to think about what might have triggered this, when he started acting so strange. The time you saw it first was when Monokuma told everyone the new year was upon them. Did that have something to do with it?

And then as if on cue, Kokichi answered your thoughts, “It’s super weird everyone wanted to celebrate like that.” His voice was soft, but still contained his usual inflection. You couldn’t help but feel a bit honored that he was acting like this around you. That he was comfortable to be so...quiet.

But why would celebration upset him? You thought he would like a party, it seemed like something he would really enjoy! Was it the idea of the new year? No, because he wouldn’t have been eager to talk to you about a kiss tradition if the whole event upset him. Or was it the whole point that they were celebrating? That they were celebrating something...here? 

...That was it, wasn’t it? That’s why he said it was weird everyone was celebrating and why he said the party would be boring. It seemed like the only logical choice, though it seemed illogical to how much he appeared to like the killing game.  Then again, you didn’t know everything about Kokichi, and you could tell just by looking at him right now that that wasn’t a face who enjoyed cruel murder and punishments.

Though he wouldn’t admit it when you brought the subject up, “Huh? Why would that upset me? The killing game is super interesting, there’s tons to celebrate!”

But that was a lie. His voice was flat, like he didn’t care about the words he was speaking. Like he didn’t want to admit the truth out loud so he relied on you being able to spot such an obvious lie.

“Jeez, i’m fine...”he turned over to his side, looking right at you now, “Stop being such a nosy detective type. You’re not the Ultimate Detective.”

True. But being around Kokichi so much could kind of turn you into one..

“If you think too much, your brain would explode y’know? And then everyone would think I’m the murderer.” he remarked, no clear smile on his face as he explained the unrealistic situation. You couldn’t help but notice how quick he was to assume everyone would accuse him. 

“Seriously. Stop.” he whispered, “I came here to have a sleepover with you. Not to be analyzed.” The uncharacteristic serious tone didn’t go unnoticed. 

Right, he very clearly didn’t want you to press further. You wanted to be close to him, to know more about him, but maybe thinking over his words too much wasn’t the right thing to do right now. Maybe he just wanted to be with you, without you trying to figure him out.

You nodded in agreement. And he genuinely smiled at you.

“Sooooo I’m super tired.” he admitted, moving to adjust the blankets on your bed, “I’m going to sleep now ‘kay?”

That was probably best, you were really tired too. You didn’t know what time it was, but you knew weren’t going to get enough sleep to wake up in time for breakfast. Oh well, you had Kokichi. You...had Kokichi. You smiled at the thought.

Once you both settled into bed, you made sure to keep some sort of a distance between you two, just to be nice. Never would you think that Kokichi shared your thought of being close. At least until he spoke next.

“And you’re not going to let me cuddle you? What kind of sleepover partner are you?” he teased, motioning for you to get closer. 

It was like some sort of dream come true.

Of course, you happily obliged to his offer, letting him be the big spoon as he asserted (even if you’re wayyy taller than him). You didn’t know until this moment how it would feel to cuddle with Kokichi, and not just Kokichi, but a genuine and quiet version of him. One with no masks and no acts...

It felt peaceful. It felt safe. You felt special for getting to see this side of him.

“Hey? Y/n” he whispered, squeezing you close, “Please don’t die this year.”

You won’t, you promised. And you really hoped he wouldn’t either.

christmas is kinda fun for kokichi!

his favorite part is how over the top he can be with it!!

like for example, he really likes the whole extravagant part of decorating

he’s the supreme leader after all!!

there’s no way he could just hang up just a few decorations at D.I.C.E. headquarters

mistletoe at every single doorway, lights on every wall, christmas trees in every room, a life sized rudolph the reindeer-

and he did it all himself too! as the supreme leader of D.I.C.E. he appoints it as his responsibility

when he shows you, its pretty surprising that there was so much effort put in

“sooooo, my beloved, what do you think?” 

he has such a huge grin on his face, he’s so proud of his own excessive decorating-

it’s so cute, make sure to compliment him!!

he’d never genuinely tell you that he actually wants compliments though

and if you want him to decorate your room too, he’ll totally do it!

“of course y/n! buuuut you’ll have to pay me a preeettty big price...lots and lots of cuddles, okay? nishishi!”

and he’s also definitely the type to play christmas music wayyyyyy too early

just to annoy people!

like it turns september 1 and he starts playing music because...

and he wants you to be with D.I.C.E. during Christmas!

D.I.C.E.’s celebrations are pretty big, with loud music and games and stuff like that!

but if you have an issue with so much intensity, he’d definitely tone it down for when you came

he wants you to be comfortable and have this be a good christmas for you!!

and other than him getting into the whole holiday spirit and being a little annoying with it he really likes being soft with you as well

holiday seasons are times to be meaningful and stuff...

when D.I.C.E. isn’t looking, he kisses your cheek and holds your hand and just does sappy stuff like that

he wants to be soft and sappy with you without anyone watching <3

like with presents! 

he doesn’t want to give you a heartfelt gift in front of people!

not even D.I.C.E.!

so he waits until you two are alone and cuddling

which btw his cuddles with you when the whole day is over are the best

he’s tired from all the festivities and being so loud and extra all the time, so he just softly lays with you and plays with your hair

he trusts you at this point so he’s okay with being soft and vulnerable a bit

lots of soft kisses and stuff

as for what present he gets you…

it depends on what you like!

he really will spend a lot of time on it and look for what you might want

and he doesn’t just get you one present, he gets you a lot!

he also probably gets you some sort of sappy couple thing where you two can match shirts or something

you just mean a lot to him and you make him really happy, he wants you to know that!!

Hey dude I'm not like a regular follower or anything but I like telling this story so here it is I had this massive unrequited crush on this guy I went to high school with (This is 5ish years in my past). I thought he was the most mellow, relaxing person to be around and he was so fkin pretty. I consider myself to be a pretty easygoing person so I was fine with just being friends with this dude but I still really idolized him, thought he was perfect and all that. Always super funny. Still occasionally think about things like "what if I ran into him one day?". Anyway, the last day I was him was on our last show night together, (we were in theatre). There was no huge goodbye or anything because we were supposed to be there for set takedown the next day. He ended up not showing up, had some unrelated personal thing come up. I later found out this guy was high literally every time I talked to him. Just all the time. When he wasn't high he had these character flaws, still a great guy but just wasn't perfect. I actually have reason to believe his whole laid back digital nomad personality was a front, but whether he was playing a character or just being candid I still liked that person a whole lot. In retrospect, I should have seen that coming. Saw the guy cry once because he missed taco bell breakfast and he always smelled like incense. So I guess I have two points. First, everyone is human and nobody is going to be the perfect person for you/ someone else/ etc. There's a lot of great people out there and some of them are meant to be your friends and some of them are meant to be more. Second point is to enjoy all the time you have with people in your life. "Never go to bed angry" type of lifestyle, ya know? Play the cards the universe gives you. Don't ask for new cards, you won't get them. Just do what you can with what you got. Does that make sense?

hi hi!! it’s the ✨holiday season✨so i wrote this obligatory mistletoe fanfic!! basically kokichi wants to trick you to get under the mistletoe because he wants to kiss you 😘 😘😘 i hope this is as fluffy as i wanted it to be!!

It was the middle of December, a few weeks before the whole Christmas celebration. The mistletoe Kokichi hung was right in place, hidden by a small little disguised curtain with a string attached to it, ready for you to walk under it and be surprised by the flirty plant.

He didn’t want to admit it, him being a supreme leader who boasted about his incredible ideas and confidence and all, but he was nervous. So nervous. He had been planning this idea for months, actually, and he really didn’t want to mess it up! Of course, he rarely ever messed up any pranks he’s made, but this was different! It wasn’t even really a prank, just an attempt to kiss you disguised as a prank. Because, duh, he couldn’t ask to genuinely kiss you! How could he do that?!

He didn’t even like crushes, they’re too truthful and mushy and gushy and he can’t lower himself to actually love someone!!! ...

But that’s a whole lie, he loves having a crush on you.

It’s just that you were one of the only people who even bothered to try to tolerate him! ...It was interesting. He was unsure why’d you do such a thing, hanging out with an annoying liar who always seemed to say the wrong thing at the wrong times.

Yet you still stayed with him, and was pretty persistent with it too, not giving into his antics that tired to push you away when you got too close.

So really he had no choice but to just...let you in.

And he couldn’t deny that it made him happy to be with someone who appreciated his company, someone other than a D.I.C.E. member! Someone with a beautiful smile, a beautiful laugh, a beautiful everything....

It was hard for him to pinpoint exactly what he liked about you, he may be a supreme leader with extreme power, but he was absolutely clueless on crushes. It wasn’t often that he fell for someone, his trust issues and secret insecurities causing him to distance himself from others....but you were just...so special. Too special to ignore.

So the misletoe plan started. Once the holiday season started up, it was like the first thing on his mind! To get the chance to actually kiss you...it was a chance he needed to take! Your lips just looked so nice to kiss... And he’s done mistletoe pranks before so he had an idea of what he’s doing, though he’s never done one with the intention to actually kiss anyone....and he’s also never been kissed.

It was a little, no, it was very nerve wracking!!!!

He knows there is a chance you won’t kiss him at all. that you won’t fall for the ‘trick’. That you’ll laugh that amazing laugh and smile your cute smile and walk away from the mistletoe, never to know that it was a genuine gesture. Or maybe you’ll get mad at him for pulling such a ‘prank’ and finally agree with everyone else that he’s an annoying liar and nothing else!

Jeez, maybe he should just leave. Stupid you for making The Kokichi Ouma so filled with butterflies! This is so unfair! It’s all your fault for being so cute that he wants to kiss you!

Hmph. Maybe he should just leave.

He knows he doesn’t deserve you anyways. You’re too wonderful and beautiful for a liar like him who can’t even kiss you without disguising it as a prank. Besides, you weren’t even here yet, he could just tell you he had to cancel because of D.I.C.E. stuff or something-

But then he saw you in the distance. Walking towards him.

You looked so pretty, so handsome, you always did. Like something out of a stupid daydream he had. It was actually hard to believe that this wasn’t a dream, that you were approaching him standing under the misletoe, the chance of you kissing him lingering in the air.

You looked so unsuspecting of him, a smile on your face as you thought this was just another regular hang out invitation. As far as he could tell, you had no idea what he was planning to do a few minutes later.

Once you found out, you could push him away, look disgusted at him, claim you’d never kiss him in a million years or...something negative like that....Though, yet again, you could accept the ‘joke’ proposal, lean in and press those beautiful lips against his chapped ones....

He has never in his life wanted a prank to work this badly.

“Oh, y/n? What are you doing here?” he teased, a smile lighting up on his face to hide his worries from sight of you. He ignored your own mouth opening, assuming you’re about to remind him that he was the one who asked you here, and cut you off by grabbing the string mechanism and giving a soft tug.

His heart felt like it was going to burst out of his chest. He had to stop himself from closing his eyes out of fear of seeing your reaction. After all, supreme leaders aren’t supposed to be this..afraid. He couldn’t afford that embarrassment of you finding out.

He watched as your eyes moved up to the now revealed misletoe.

“Nishishi! M-mistletoe! We must have to kiss, kiss, huh my beloved?” he grinned, internally cursing himself for messing up his words with such stutters. Supreme leaders don’t stutter!

Now he really felt like his heart was going to stop.

With every second passing of your staring up at the misletoe, it sinking into your mind what he had just done, he felt like he was going to explode more and more. He couldn’t tear his eyes away from your gorgeous eyes.

After some time, his heart and hope began to falter. You weren’t making any moves, or saying anything, or even smiling.

In a desperate attempt to fix this well-planned mistake, he rushed out, “Nishishi! It was a prank my beloved! You don’t-“

He was cut off by your lips finally meeting his.

It was such a....weird feeling...such a...warm, gentle feeling. So comforting, so nice, so much. So everything that he wanted when looking at you. His lips fit yours perfectly, or was that him starting to let sappy things infect his brain? Though he was sure that infection had already started when he first met you.

His eyes were still wide open in shock, he realized, immeditely closing them in order to fully immerse himself in this kiss he was so graciously given.

He was too amazed that this was happening, he couldn’t even touch you, despite his urge to hold you closer.

And when you both pulled away, all at once, his supreme leader masks crumbled.

He let the hearts in his eyes grow and his genuine smile light up.He looked so giddy and happy, with a blush on his cheeks, you had never seen him like this before!

“Awww you really wanted to kiss me huh?” he giggled, not being able to hide how in love with you he was falling. With every look into your eyes, the urge to kiss you again just became stronger.

But he really didn’t want to push your boundaries, he really didn’t want you to run away from him, not after a kiss that made him feel almost dizzy. So he took your hand instead, making sure that you were okay with it as he squeezed your hand and stepped closer.

His mind was stuck on you, he couldn’t think about anything else other than the beautiful sight of standing in front of him.

“You’re too cute, y/n!” he smiled, “Buuut I still have to take you out on that date I promised!”

He still had a whole night planned for you two! And now that you’ve kissed him, he was super excited to start!

And thus your relationship with Kokichi started, under the mistletoe...
