Hattie X Cinderpelt

Quick Doodle for my rarepair Hattie X Cinderpelt!

Hattie is a kittypet that appears briefly in Firestar's quest and is the cat who Rusty's owners adopt after he went missing. Cinderpelt and Hattie do not interact in canon but I like the idea they meet when she is gathering Catmint in the twoleg garden. They bond over snails (because of the snail Cinderpelt has in Brightheart's manga!)

Leafstar X Sandstorm X Echosong

My favorite rarepair for Sandstorm- and possible AU where she joins SkyClan as their deputy instead of returning to ThunderClan.

Manga Echosong seemed like she had a crush on Leafstar and there is a page where Echosong comforts her after a disagreement with Billystorm and they're climbing up a tree together and Leafstar is literally like 'just for a moment Echosong made me forget all about Billystorm...' GAY

Sandstorm literally named one of her daughters after Leafstar- and personally like the idea that Squirrelflight is named after her nickname for Echosong because they both have a squirrely tail.

And Sharpclaw sucks as a deputy so I think Sandstorm would simply do a better job and give us the sapphic polyamorus power triad we deserve.

A bookmark from a zine I joined a few years ago that fell through on production- realized I never posted the art. Designwise I thought it would be cute if all three characters were based off different animals so we have Leaf = Deer, Sand = Lion, and Echo = Squirrel.

Anyway, I've been meaning to reread Firestar's Quest and the other SkyClan books set in the original gorge to develop this idea further but still haven't gotten to it- still with all the rarepair doodles I've been doing thought I'd jot some thoughts down somewhere.

Misc HC -

Sandstorm - trans woman, bisexual - has the same red tail as her dad Redtail. Runningwind is also her dad.

Echosong - trans woman, lesbian - has chronic pain as a munchkin cat with scottish fold ears; its given her greater empathy for her patients but also an understanding of her limitations.

Leafstar - nonbinary, lesbian or bisexual? - In the design process I thought she might have a bit of savannah cat blood, but very distant.

Nightcloud X Sorreltail

Probably last drawing for this rung of the rarepair bracket. (I might draw LeopardBlue if they beat NightSorrel but we'll see)

There was an old AU floating around by fridaystar I wanna say where an injured Nightcloud is taken in by ThunderClan and Sorreltail is the one to treat her because she's reluctant to let Leafpool near her.

I'm just 10000% in camp get Nightcloud a girlfriend she is entitled to financial compensation for being in relation to one of top 10 worst warrior cats men and target of pretty egregious fanon villianiszation for having the gall to even look at woobified Crowfeather the wrong way. First ever victim of yaoi for a m/f couple I'll tell you what.

Kind of an awkward pose here but oh well! Hard making Sorreltail look big and beefy but also my Nightcloud is supposed to be really tall and panther-like.

Crowfeather x Hawkfrost - bi wrongs! <3

Yes another rarepair doodle lol- not my favorite ship on the bracket but felt the urge to draw emo rat and emo vampire warrior cats...

I can not for the life of me find it anymore, but someone made an AU idea about Hawkfrost if he'd been a part of the original TNP journey crew, and that's kinda the version of Hawk I like for Crow/Hawk. A bit of a rivalry and maybe toxicity but room for growth.

Alternatively I like full throttle toxicity lol Crowfeather I feel could act like a bit of a spicier Ashfur, Hawkfrost manipulates him into schemes or whatever. (Could go hand in hand with my SquirrelCrow AU ideas where Crowfeather just replaces Ashfur as the scorned suitor, Hawkfrost comes in when he's not quite over there and stokes some fires.)

Daisy X Cinderpelt

Not a whole lot to say about this one, just another quick rarepair drawing. <3 I don't think they interact too much in canon except for Leafpool shooing Daisy's kits out of Cinderpelt's den. Still I like HC both of them as lesbian or sapphic but there aren't actually too many other she cats around Cinderpelt's age in the first series. Hattie, Cody, and Daisy are all a bit ambiguously aged and out of the three Daisy has the most prominence in the series. I drew their pallets next to each other for an old project and ever since then the ship has been tickling around in my brain but I'm only now getting around to drawing them.

In another life...

Quick SwiftpawXCloudtail drawings! Another contender on the warrior cats rarepair bracket I've been following. This is an interesting one for me because I do like it, but it is an alternative to The Best Canon Warrior Cats ship (Bright/Cloud).

If I remember the books correctly they actually were friends, if a bit of a rocky start (Longtail's attitude towards kittypets) and competitive with each other. Could just be me retroactively projecting scenes on my favorite puffball Cloudtail but I think there were a few blink and you'll miss it interactions of them training or hunting together. I don't think Swiftpaw had any spite for Cloudtail just resentment he was made a warrior when he and Brightheart weren't. Anyway I could definitely see their friendly rivalry turning to romance or QPPR. The more tragic alternative is it was short and sweet as it was in the books and he grew closer with Brightheart after the loss of his buddy.

I think if Swiftpaw lived I like the names Swiftcall, Swiftfang, or Swiftpath for him. My design for a survivor Swiftpaw is missing a leg and a tail.

My gender hcs for Cloudtail are super flexible but for this particular timeline I like them both being transmasc nonbinary.

Another rarepair: Clovertail X Petalnose <3

There is something so sweet about nursery queen pairings in general but I really have a soft spot for these two minor SkyClan characters~ <3

In Firestar's Quest, Clover and Petal are both cats who join the rebuilt with their kits. Clovertail was a loner seeking shelter from a fox attack, and Petalnose was a kittypet who was ill-treated by her owners and was rescued by Rainfur and Firestar. But after Rainfur is killed in the rat attack I feel like Clovertail would be a major comfort in her grieving process as they are both single mothers now.

They are currently up for vote in a twitter rarepair tournament hosted by lunefalls - there are 20 hours left as of posting if you'd like to vote for them!
