Weight Loss - Round 2
Now that I stopped the Resulti, I am no longer eating obsessively. However, despite better eating habits and resuming activities (was injured for a few months), I have found it very difficult to lose weight.  I am still hovering at the 40-50lb weight gain. This really sucks. If anyone has any suggestions I am open to hearing from you.  See my next post about my exercise.

Endometriosis Awareness
Yes, I am rehashing from an old post but I’ve added alot more to it. March is Endometriosis Awareness Month March is Endometriosis Awareness Month What is Endometriosis? In layman’s terms, it’s when the cells the are supposed to live in the uterus also live outside the uterus. What does that mean? Well, it means those misplaced cells act like they would it they were in the right place. They…

Fibromyalgia & the Heat
It seems I’m in the minority when I say my fibro is better in the hot weather. I will sweat up a storm, but I can function so much better in the summer. Conversely, I can’t tolerate cold well and even require extra medical treatment in the winter months. So these tip aren’t for me, but everyone else! Lol! Tips for Chronic Pain Sufferers During Hot Weather Drink more water than you think you…

OMG - Her Appetite!
I started talking to a new fellow in October, and started seeing each other in late February. So he’s really only seen my Rexulti appetite. Last weekend, for Canada Day I went over for pool, dinner & fireworks. I grabbed breakfast on my way to his place. He was surprised that I had waited so long to finally eat cuz it was early afternoon. On the Rexulti, I was downing at least one full bowl of…

Weight Gain - Meds
So, since Christmas I have gained a total of 50lbs. I am not impressed.. I have been compulsively overeating, and I don’t know why… And it’s anything.. Be it something healthy like fruit, or smacking on candy, or going back for 2nds & 3rds for dinner.. Three weeks ago, I got a notification that one of my meds was up for refill. It’s a fairly new med, so I figured I’d check & 2 potential side…

Costochondritis
Costochondritis is the inflammation of the cartilage that joins your ribs to your breastbone aka the sternum. It is always imperative to get chest pain checked out because pain caused by costochondritis might mimic that of a heart attack or other heart conditions. You don’t want to self misdiagnose yourself with costochondritis when you could actually be having serious heart issues. Cause: The…

You Can’t Do Everything, But You Can Do Something.
With Fibromyalgia and other chronic pain you can’t always do everything you want, and we will always be limited in what we can do, but there is always something you can do instead – always an alternative. While you may not be able to go to the amusement park with your friends/ family because the rides will hurt too much or because you can’t be on your feet all day or maybe it’s an all day thing…

The Matchstick Theory
Originally posted by Sarah Johnson here, it basically replacing the spoons with matches. I’m sure you’re wondering what the difference is between a spoon and a match. There’s one very big difference. When you light a match and it’s gone, it’s gone. When you use a spoon, you can wash it again and use it again. The Matchstick Theory. Imagine waking up each morning with one fresh pack of…

The Spoon Theory & Chronic Pain
I shared the spoon theory in my last post here. I’m sure you noticed that the girl in the story has the medical condition Lupus. While obviously not the same medical condition a lot of what she says – No, most – No, all of what she said still applies to anyone with a chronic medical condition. With fibromyalgia and my other chronic pain conditions I also deal with the daily grind of the limits…

The Spoon Theory
by Christine Miserandino. My best friend and I were in the diner, talking. As usual, it was very late and we were eating French fries with gravy. Like normal girls our age, we spent a lot of time in the diner while in college, and most of the time we spent talking about boys, music or trivial things, that seemed very important at the time. We never got serious about anything in particular and…

My Name is Fibromyalgia
From Chronic Pain Life Facebook group MY NAME IS FIBROMYALGIA Hi. My Name is Fibromyalgia, and I’m an Invisible Chronic Illness. I am now velcroed to you for life. Others around you can’t see me or hear me, but YOUR body feels me. I can attack you anywhere and anyhow I please. I can cause severe pain or, if I’m in a good mood, I can just cause you to ache all over. Remember when you and…

Battling Weight Gain
As mentioned on Tuesday, I have put a good chunk of weight back on and I’m now starting the process of fighting it back off. Here is my plan: Exercise: I have reached out to the personal trainers at my gym to inquire to see who would be the best fit for me to set up an exercise regime for me to follow. I’m more likely to do so if it’s set out for me. Part of what helped me lose weight last time…

Weight Gain
Over the last few months, my mental health has not necessarily been the greatest. Motivation has been down, so getting to do things that aren’t scheduled has been a challenge. Fatigue has been high, so having the energy to do even the things that are scheduled has been a challenge. I should follow up with my doctor to ensure it’s not just the fibro cuz it’s been more as of late & I am getting…
