Allow me to recommend "The Rabbit King" by starvingsnout, a taekook Hwarang AU with a little twist (the twist being that it's also has ATLA elements, and a little less tragedic than Hwarang). Featuring Jungkook as the absent king and Avatar and Taehyung as the grandson of the leader of the earth-bender clan, as well as Seokjin as his elder half-brother, Jimin as a skilled waterbender, Yoongi as a powerful firebender, Namjoon as an airbender, and last but not least Hoseok as a non-bender with a special set of skills.

The author obviously put a lot of effort into researching and worldbuilding, and the story itself is beautifully written.

As of now the story is unfinished (but not abandoned), with presumably one chapter to go, and although the main conflict is not yet resolved, the last chapter doesn't really end in a cliffhanger, so it's not too bad, and this fic really deserves more love!

Throughout the fic he keeps getting into relationships and ends up heartbroken after each one, and jungkook always helps him after. Eventually tae stops believing in love and when he starts to have feelings for jungkook, hes scared he'll just end up hurt again. They do end up together but I dont remember whos pov its in. I think both?

hi again! about that hurt/comfort fic, im pretty sure it was short, somewhere between 5k-10k, non-canon, and a college/university au. I dont remember if there were any side ships but its a single chapter and best friends to lovers :) theres no angst except for when taehyung gets his heart broken a bunch of times and the end is really fluffy. Im not 100% sure but they might have been childhood friends or roommates as well. I wish i could remember more :( Thank you so much for looking!! <3
