Outoftomorrow: . So, the last few weeks have been pretty harrowing for a multitude of reasons. My agency disbanded, and I was laid off from it within 3 days of being told, I've been fighting with three different applications to new agencies, I nearly missed my meeting with my college advisor because I was taking an online CPR course, my uncle was up from DC that day too, and then a week after he went back to DC my other uncle's O2 sats crashed. Hard. . He went to the hospital. But this time--he isn't coming back. I just got back from visiting him one final time in the ICU, before my mom, who is his invoked healthcare proxy, informed them to pull the plug on him. I 100% agree with her on the decision, because of several extenuating circumstances, but it doesn't make it any easier. . So, with that in mind--I'm prolly gonna take a little bit of time from tumblr. I know that I owe a response to @fairlybeloved for an ask I sent--and I've owed it for a few days already. I *will* reply to it, but it'll still be a bit. Thanks for your patience. 💚🖤

. "So--I can't ever be impulsive during a fight then? How is that even fair? I may have a more level head than you most of the time--but I'm not perfect. I also may usually see what it is that you need to do from afar, but this time--you weren't doing it! So, I saw an opportunity to end the fight, saw you struggling, and I took it! Without thought. Sometimes--I need to protect you; because technically, you could get both of us killed every time you leap into a fight without thinking...

. "I may be behind you most of the time, but I'm never so far behind that I'm out of range of the bad guy. Besides--why complain? They were youkai--and they're down. And that's what my reiryoku is for."

. ::She said with some conviction, readily defending her thoughtless choice this one time. She hadn't expected praise for what she did---but she hadn't expected a lecture either.::

He... He had no words.

Not at first anyway, thus all he could do was stare at her in disbelief and perhaps a little envy. She jumped into that fight like a champ and had she been anyone else he would cheer her own to kick everyone's ass.

But she was his mate and he knew better.

After a few long moments he drew a slow breath and in a perfectly calm tone tried to reason with her.

"Koishii, that's my job though. I am supposed to be the one who jumps into the fights no matter what while you are supposed to be the rational one watching everything. What you did --" He paused and motioned to the pile of unconscious bodies not to far away.

"- Could have gotten us both killed! Cuz I am not the kind of guy who thinks rationally! I just react. I just hit things harder when it doesn't work the first time. You are better as seeing what I gotta do from afar."
