the thing about david jacobs is that everything is in character. you try to write him out of character? it’s still in character. that bitch doesn’t even know who the fuck he is himself so how are we ever supposed to get it right. hes so weirdgirl. he’s so murderer. he’s so comedian. he’s so introverted librarian who never speaks. he’s so never shuts the fuck up and everyone hates him for it. hes so club twink. hes so secluded woodsman in a cabin. he’s so lawyer teacher nonprofit owner grocery store bagger barista waiter. he’s so never shuts the fuck up and everyone loves him for it. there is no possible way for him to be out of character if you keep his central theme of 1) autistic and 2) being crushed under the weight of too much on his shoulders (but he can’t take a break, there’s no time for breaks, he has to prove himself (to himself) and he has to make his family proud (they’ve been proud of him for years) and he has to suffer because suffering means you’re getting it done.) and 3) gay

The themes of maturity in love and how Natasha grows aaaaaaaaa

Natasha is so caught up in the idea of being loved that the minute anyone shows appreciation for her she insists she loves them back.

When Anatole proposes she convinces herself she loves him purely because he claims to love her. Her impulsiveness in this love is really shown in Natasha’s response above.

But the failure of the elopement really sobers her up and allows her to grow.

When Pierre confesses his love to Natasha she does not return the confession, and it is incredibly important that she doesn’t. It is a huge moment of growth for Natasha to not fall into the arms of any man who says he loves her. In this moment she is greatly flattered and appreciative of Pierre and his kind words, and eventually she will love him back, (as we know from the book War & Peace, they get married) but right now she still doesn’t understand her feelings, and takes her time to work them out. She shows so much maturity from where she was before and it’s just… aaaaaa! I love this musical!
