September is Suicide Prevention Month. It is a month when we are called to talk about our experiences with suicide to end the stigma on remaining silently suffering.

Sometimes I have suicidal thoughts and ideations, and for me they take an overwhelming form. I close myself off from the ones that I love. I become critical of my gender until I don’t see a point to anything.

Luckily things like gender affirming healthcare, medication and therapy have benefited me greatly to quiet the voices so I can start living. There needs to be more of this so nonbinary people like won’t have to result to death. We can continue to live.

I couldn’t decide if I wanted to keep this black and white or to add the watercolor, so I chose to post both versions.

Hi everyone!

I hope y’all are doing well.

I’m taking a break from art for a little bit. I am doing my very best to not look at this as a failure on my part. I started this journey with the intention to make art every day for the whole year. It’s extremely difficult to do that. I am in a place mentally where my exhaustion is getting to me. I am experiencing a lot of stress in my life, and I need to take time to step back.

This piece is from March of this year. It reminds me of bringing in light, love and beauty when things feel too structured and oppressive.

I truly appreciate everyone’s support, love and kindness through these past 200 days of making art. I’m sorry that I let y’all down.
