I went to the beach with my 1957 Kodak Pony IV and all my photos came back super hazy and old-looking.
It is okay if you want to pretend I took these is 1957
Happy Birthday! 《《o(≧◇≦)o》》will you do mdzs/the untamed?
Lan Wangji hears a lot of rumors about the heir to the Jiang clan. Gossip is forbidden, but the elders seem to have a loose definition of the term when it comes to discussing other clans.
Xichen says that most of them are true.
They say she’s such a weak cultivator that she barely bothers to carry her sword. They say she wears her mother’s spiritual tool on her wrist because she’s not strong enough to defend herself on her own. They say she has a bodyguard for that very reason, one who grew up with her, who never leaves her side. They say that she’s in love with her bodyguard and has refused several marriage proposals for that very reason, although of course that’s not what she says, and the Jiangs simply say they’re holding out for a more appropriate match.
The Jiang already have one marriage alliance planned, after all, with their second child engaged to the niece of Wen Ruohan. They can choose to be pickier with their daughter and future clan leader.
They say that the Jiangs are considering Lan Wangji as a potential husband for Jiang Yanli.
Xichen says that the elders are considering it too.
Lan Wangji is wearing formal robes to greet the Jiang delegation, because his uncle is considering their proposal, because him being the husband of a major clan leader would greatly benefit the Lan clan. Lan Wangji still hasn’t decided how he feels about it, but he knows he doesn’t want to mess this up for his family before he’s figured it out, so he bows low and tries to make himself look marriageable.
He looks up and he means to greet his potential fiance, to show his respect to the heir of the Jiang clan, but his eyes get caught on someone else.
There’s a boy in purple robes so dark they’re nearly black next to Jiang Yanli. He has a grin and warm eyes and he stands directly at Jiang Yanli’s shoulder, closer than even Jiang Wanyin.
“Master Lan,” Jiang Yanli says formally. “Thank you for inviting us to Cloud Recesses.”
“Of course, Lady Jiang,” he answers, but the words feel far away, and it still takes him another moment to put his eyes where they belong, on the kind and pleasing face of Jiang Yanli.
