Carlos has never been happier. He’s finally married the love of his life, the wedding was absolutely beautiful, and they’re enjoying their honeymoon as husbands. Everything is perfect and— —and TK is crying, quietly breaking down in a hospital room as he begs and pleads for Carlos to wake up, to not be another person he loves that leaves him.

The beach is beautiful in the morning as the sun rises. The air is cool, a breeze blowing and ruffling his curls as he sits on the sand. Waves crash out in the far distance, angry and violent as the storm threatens to get closer.

Carlos pays it no mind as he relaxes back on his hands, watching the tide lap at his feet. It’s getting closer with each wave, but he can’t find it in him to care about moving further away from it.

After what he’s learned and remembered, what does it matter if the ocean swallows him whole? It’s not like any of this is real. He ran away after TK’s breakdown, and he finally noticed just how empty their hotel was, the same as the flight had been. Did he really sleep for ten hours, or did he blink and they were there?

Everything is confusing and he aches and he has no idea how to get out of this.

He feels them first before he sees them.

@ Outlander friends I highly recommend listening to @lordjohnlander ‘s latest podcast episode where they go into deep criticism of the last episodes of season 1, and the lack of trigger warnings, the unnecessary detail the show writers went into the SA (esp because it is not at all that detailed in the books), the better ways to discuss Jamie’s character and his trauma, and the real world implications of having such a traumatizing scene shown on television. Imo they really opened up a discussion about it that usually isn’t talked abt in the fandom and I rrly appreciate that. It shouldn’t be seeing as bad to criticize a piece of media your really like!! Props to them❤️
