at some point I would like to update my massive Frankenstein headcanon posts, because it turns out I actually got quite a bit wrong! Going to listen to the 1818 version on audio at some point to see what I can pick up

a scribble sketch I did because I was thinking about warrior cats and batman at the same time. Should I try to color it? I later found other fanart of him as a tux Persian and I'm glad we all reached the same conclusion. fancy cat. aristocat.

being exposed to creepypastas and horror stories/images as a tweenager has irreparably damaged my psyche as one dark night I saw one of these things taking a poop on a front lawn in the beams of my car headlights and I about went into cardiac arrest thinking it was the rake

I mean, I kinda do. Except for some reason or another right before a storm I can get pretty bad anxiety and a bit spacey. But it goes away once it starts raining. Strange. Must be the pressure changes. I want to learn to love this more.

I do not endorse or believe in this in the slightest, but I'd like you to come with me on a horrible thought experiment:
How do we define a god?
-unseen force
-determines your life events and the narrative behind it
-determines who you are/your place in the universe
-can grant you what you need if you beg or grant services to it
-loves sacrifice and demands it
-can see you as puny, disposable, and unworthy, and sees you as a means to an end in greater plans
-can and will punish you for stepping out of bounds
If we take this all in, is this not the function or large people groups? Or, and I hate to say this overused and cringe word: a SoCietY?
The collective unconscious and the will of the masses is an Eldritch entity.
Thank you for coming to my NedThink

no one:
my brain trying to sleep: "The Island of Doctor Moreau is the inverse of Circe's Island."
That crap woke me up.

I love going to small local farmers markets/flea markets/festivals
You literally find so much cool stuff and you're supporting local people too. It *can* be pretty cheap/well priced depending on what you get so basically my conclusion is...
YOU CAN REDUCE LARGE CORPORATION PROFITS (*˘︶˘*).。*♡

Shoutout to people who speak "overly formally." You deserve to express yourself in whatever way feels most natural and fulfilling for you. The way you speak isn't pompous, annoying, or mockable; it's just how you communicate, and there's nothing wrong with that. Your voice adds creativity and diversity to this world, and I think that's amazing.

One of the things I love about Gaiman's narrative take on the Norse mythos is that things really don't go sideways until Loki, the God of lies/tricks, TELLS THE TRUTH. Maybe I'm projecting or misremembering, but up until that one banquet, Loki has been the one to bail the gods (and himself tbh) out of all their troubles. Covering up for them, outsmarting the other side, etc.
But when the booze loosens his tongue and he finally reaches his limit, he puts everyone on blast. He brings up all the awkward, uncomfortable things of the past, slandering and dirtying the image that the rest of the Aesir have so carefully crafted. And one if the last nails in the coffin is when he plainly speaks out loud, that they, including Odin, are Oathbreakers. One of the most sacred things to their culture and law, and they themselves, the gods, are defilers, hypocrits, and heretics.
Anyway I might be misremembering. But as someone in a dysfunctional family, I heavily relate to this. As long as we all put on fake smiles, trick people into thinking we're upstanding and pure, and cover up anything unworthy, we will all be good. But the one member that points plainly to a problem, or is authentic for one second, their head is going to be on a platter.
When the lier lies, all is well. But when they tell the truth, that's the real problem.

Listen boy, if you're going to start saying things like "Ugh I hate fake ppl, I'm the only one that keeps it real" blah blah, then I'd better not catch u screaming and slipping into madness when I reveal my hordes of eyes and wings and empty void where I have been to u later

Jester's Makeup
I used to think that I could
With much force,
Clean my face of the jester's makeup.
But I found myself juggling,
Performing tricks
Begging for dignity, love, and respect
And when I gazed again at the mirror,
Towards the end of day
I, with quiet despair
Found that God had tatoo'd it on
