Anti Zionism / antisemitism in the last of us fandom
I was scrolling through the last of us tag here and I came across this A/N
Tumblr media
What you’re doing here is using the term Zionist as a derogatory term to describe a Jewish person.
Look, the creator is Israeli-American. Israelis are allowed to create things and exist in the public domain. The game has nothing to do with the conflict. if you don’t like the fact that the creator of your favourite show and game is Israeli, don’t watch/play it. It’s as a simple as that.
The only connection is that he’s Jewish Israeli. If you assume his work has some ulterior motive or hidden war propaganda , based on that- surprise, that’s antisemitic
Unfortunately , this is not the first time I’ve encountered this phenomenon
There are so many misguided donation links, posts and misinformation regarding the conflict/ anti Israel/ posts with plain antisemitic rhetorics in this fandom. It’s honestly so frustrating to see how you’re promoting such misinformation.
The game has nothing to with Israel/ Palestine. Stop projecting your propaganda on everything made by Israelis or Jews
Literally do a quick google search- Neil Druckmann , the creator , said he was inspired by other zombie games and games he was working on …
-
I am not going to tag any users or the user whose post I’ve added here as I don’t want to harass them.
What is important here is the message, not finger pointing at specific users.

No going back now. Went back to the green hell of the Belarus/Poland border to support my crew tryna keep refugees alive on their journey w medical needs, food, clothing, phone access, cigarettes, asylum papers, whatever. To avoid detection we navigate in total darkness but sometimes at night we'll risk a red light like a campfire that gives no heat. I'll try to get stories when/how I can around the glow while the medics tend to razor wire injuries or dog bites or whatever wounds these rival states have inflicted. Borders are death, I don't trust myself with a proper description but they are bad. fuck them and fuck the cowards maintaining them.

I need my fellow Americans to understand that it is disgustingly cruel, absurd, and privileged to be celebrating ANY sort of military conflicts or wars, especially in countries destabilized and exploited by the US.
War is not a fandom or sports game for us to spectate from the other side of the world in homes that have never been at risk of being bombed or invaded by soldiers. You should not be "picking sides" to cheer on or boo without ever being affected.
These are real people whose lives are being destroyed, whose homes are being reduced to rubble, who are losing their loved ones to horrific violence, whose lives will never be the same. Real people digging through rubble to find their children's bodies. Real people being torn apart by bullets. Real people being blown apart by bombs.
Do you understand that? Can you comprehend that? That while you sit safe in a country that hasn't been touched by a real war since before your parents were born, real people are losing their lives in conflicts that you're making fanart for and using to get clout on social media?

When I was in rehab I had a roommate who was this little old black lady and she was completely blind. And I saw that and was like “anybody gonna be this lady’s guide?” And didn’t wait for an answer. I actually got in trouble for “perpetuating lesbianism” BECAUSE I WOULD LEAD HER BY THE FUCKIN HAND. And that was “”too gay for the program”” so I had to make sure she held my elbow instead and like. What really pissed me off is that she was not given aid whatsoever for her disability. It was fucking me doing her paperwork. I was able to help her sign her own name but I had to fill out all of her intake stuff and ask all these invasive ass demographic questions like don’t you motherfuckers have a guy for that??? I’m here trying to fucking recover too, not interrogate this poor woman with questions about whether or not she’s ever been raped or abused or whatever

If you are a Christian that wants to host a Passover seder this year:
1) Don’t. It’s appropriative and gross.
2) Still don’t.
3) Jesus never participated in the type of seder that Jews have today. He lived (if he existed as described in your Christian holy books) during the Second Temple Era of Judaism, when worship was Temple-focused and ritual sacrifice was a key facet of the holiday. The modern seder takes most of its traditions from rabbinic Judaism, which was not the Judaism of Jesus.
4) Don’t do it. Don’t. No, there is no good reason for you to do it.
5) Given the Christian antisemitic violence traditionally inflicted on the Jews during this time of year (the lead up to Easter), it is EXTRA awful for Christians to try and appropriate our traditions related to Passover.
6) Don’t. Pesach is our holiday, and our religion is a semi-closed practice. Don’t appropriate our stuff. Don’t make our stuff about Jesus.
7) There are no exceptions to the rule that Christians should not host Passover seders.
Hope this helps.

Hold the fuck on no way WW3 jokes are trending on Twitter when this is an extremely serious situation that’s threatening to destabilize an entire region. No way everyone’s gleefully looking at this as if it’s the grand show finale they’ve been waiting all along. There is no fucking way

As it is Passover again, it is time for the annual debate as to whether the frog plague, which thanks to a quirk in the Hebrew, is written as a plague of frog, singular, rather than the plural, plague of frogs, was in fact, as generally imagined, a plague of many frogs, or instead a singular giant Kaiju frog. This is an ancient and venerable argument that actually goes back to the Talmud because this is what the Jewish people are. If we can't argue for fun about this sort of thing, what are we even doing.
In that spirit, I would like to submit a third possibility, which is that in fact it was one perfectly normal sized frog, who was absolutely acing Untitled Frog Game: Ancient Egypt Edition. One particularly obnoxious frog, who through sheer hard work, managed to plague all of Egypt.

Solar Eclipse Shadows
These solar eclipse shadows form due to the distance between the sun and the leaves on the trees. The distance and the proximity of the leaves to one another cause for a "lensing" type effect, making the eclipse shadow clearer to the human eye.
