Punches out Diane Bellamy, a member of the working press doing her goddamn job, abandons her in the middle of the desert, and steals her ride.

Fuck you, dude. Whatever your motivations are you're a piece of shit. You could easily have agreed to tag along with her, and flown after the Hulk together in that sweet death trap of a mini-copter, but instead you did this

A most deserved beat down. Take a moment to soak that in. The Hulk gives a two fist slam and drives Doc Samson calves deep into the rocky ground. Then delivers a big ol right cross. Which probably brown outs Doc, because in the gutter Hulk goes and finds a big ass boulder and just as Samson is coming to Hulk buries ya boy. Fuck you Doc Samson, and your stupid green ponytail.

This fight comes hours after D.S. admonishes The Avengers for for trying to beat the Hulk with brute force. Doc Samson is at best two fifths as strong as the Hulk, although the Hulk is now all rage so his strength is citizen limitless a fact Samson is well aware of because, he of course caused that.

So everybody fights, then everybody grimaces and scowls.

Doc Samson explains how he fucked up, and the Avengers give him a redemption shot. Standing in the middle of millions of dollars in property damage and who knows how many dead. Jesus Tony, this is exactly the bullshit you said you stood against during the Super Hero Registration Act "Civil War". Makes me wonder if maybe all that was just posturing so Stark (insert current adjective which is an obvious attempt to shuffle financial losses through the books) Corporate Entity could make some money running hero training camps and prisons.

I'm further shocked that Namor has the least to say here, and future pacifist Wonder Man comes off most like the bully's little buddy in a 80's high school comedy, cosigning on Iron Man's rant with a "you tell 'em."

Doc Samson continues to be an ass. Although to be fair this fight fits the convention of heroes fight on their first meeting. We all wish this convention world die. Maybe in the mid 80's, when this was published, it wasn't such a trite trope.

Doc sports some new duds here and a new hair do. He is also further compounding his errors. First he physically separated Hulk from Banner. Second he freed the all destruction version of the Hulk from SHIELD custody. SHIELD also assholes, but were at least keeping the Hulk from killing people. Third he stops the Avengers from stopping the Hulk. Samson makes a reasonable case for his actions but he is such a dick about it.

SHIELD retroactively classifies a project that they recently seized, then proceed to lock up a news crew. Don't worry though it's funny because the news lady stammers "but,but,but," before she is led by a heavily armed police/soldier into a blinding white light.

To be fair, SHIELD should be shutting this project down and arresting Doc Samson and everyone working at the facility, but they should definitely have done that waaay before this mad science cabal split Hulk and Banner.

Congressional hearings in the Marvel Comic Universe must be bonkers.

Who in the fuck thought this was a good idea? Oh the super powered psychiatrist who self tested with gamma radiation exposure suggested we separate the super smart superego from the enormously destructive id.
