All right. I'm gonna say it.
I'm not into reblog karma. You do not need to send in a prompt in order to reblog it from me.
Why?
Because I'm medium activity on the best of days. It's very hard for me to get my head together in order to do asks and replies- if you send in a prompt but have no intention on replying to my answer, don't send it in the first place.
I work hard on my writing here, when I'm sent prompts I'm excited because heck yeah someone wants to write with me! I spend probably 30 minutes to an hour and a half on a single piece because I keep getting distracted and if it's never replied to, that's effort and attention wasted. I appreciate you going out of your way to do it but if you send in a prompt just to reblog it and not to genuinely start an interaction, don't bother.
I will still practice reblog karma for everyone else, but I'd rather you all not practice it on me.

"That's not surprising." Her gaze rested on the cloud above her, the softest of smiles gracing her lips. "However I cannot understand why. I think it's nice."
@inspired-flame
“Your lands fear me.”  She said simply, as a little rain cloud formed over Karma, a little personal thunderstorm just for her, this also undoing the onis statement in some ways.

Silent was the Sun as the smaller spoke, and further her rage would engulf her. The sky overhead darkened to a burnt orange haze, cracks like glass appeared on her visage, something red and hot and terrible shining through from beneath.
Deep down she knew she should not blame the naive child for this, but the very notion of granting chances to those deplorable creatures was enough to outweigh her sounder mind.
"Wraiths are the worst of us all, Ernye." She spat, kneeling lower to the deity from her 15 metre height, a third and fourth pair of arms appearing, claws golden and shining with not threat of destruction but promise. "Are you so optimistic to want to befriend the very creatures who threaten not just myself, but my counterpart?"
A piece where her mask-like face was cracked fell, shattering between them on the ground. Underneath, the corner of the black Sun's tusked maw, red and twisted into a snarl, shone through to see the light of day.
"I have fought off countless attempts on the life of the Moon. I watch her at every moment in every day to ensure that those monsters never achieve their goal of darkening the night. I will not entertain the idea of sparing them, Kamaria. I would rather tear apart this world and begin anew, starting with the Lunar Wraiths and their sympathizers, no matter who they may be.
Do not give them your heart, child. They have not one of their own to give you. They would much rather watch everything around them burn than accept a silly notion of redemption."
With that, the goddess would stand again, the distortion of her being and surroundings suddenly lifting. Her expression serene and kind as though she'd not just threatened the Moonchild with a violent demise. A small emerald dragon appeared, swirling around one of her four wrists.
"I am glad we had this conversation, my dear. It is better to be informed now than later, yes?"
Had she just mentioned a sour subject? Had she already heard of them?
That sudden change of personality made the Lunar deity back a little, hugging her rabbit in fear as she lowered her hues, about what she was about to suggest. She already knew her utopistic ideals were going to be pulverized, sooner or later.
She wouldn’t hide Karma looked terrifying, and she almost regretted mentioning them, for she knew they were evil, but she believed they were, somehow a part of the Cosmos nonetheless.
«M-maybe they just need to be talked with…? There have been so many entities who were considered evil, and they changed…! Why can’t we give them a chance…?»
Gulping as some bunnies hid behind her, Ernye truly hoped not to witness the worst side of Karma. Or, at least, she hoped she wasn’t going to harm her or anything like that. She knew she was powerful enough to defeat her in less than a minute. Ernye wasn’t used to fight, rather she despised them. And, she couldn’t help trembling as she embraced even tighter her bunny.
«I just don’t like deities hating each other… We’re not war deities, aren’t we…? Humans would suffer too, Karma! Why can’t we make a bargain? I don’t know if I… Touched a delicate subject, and I’m sorry if I did…! Please, don’t hurt me-»

Karma's gaze had traversed the room, properly taking in the surroundings of their meeting place and she could not help but wonder.. had this been someone's home? None of the others had seemed phased, and she was most unsure, but it would be most certainly very odd. There was an inkling feeling that Drakkengate was not the typical venue for such a relevant gathering- were she any braver in taking on the Elders back home, she might have posed it happen someplace on Ionian soil.
The faint change in the other woman's aura tipped the Duchess off, looking to her with a sense of curiosity. The aggressive scarlets and umbers and metal shades Karma had come to associate the auras of Noxians with were not at all what she saw on her, no. The bronze and maroon and marigold truly did remind the avatar of sun and sand, of wisdom and caution- she felt much more at ease with her than the other diplomats.
The smile was returned easily, her weariness unable to be hidden yet she well and truly remained genuine. "Please, I'd be burdened to cause you inconvenience. I'm sure finding my way on my own is at least manageable, yes?" She'd answer kindly, unable to keep herself from feeling a bit bashful at her accent that differed much from the locals no matter how hard she tried. "Forgive me, but I've not heard of any guards for myself here, mine own are still sailing and should be here in two and half more days."
What had this woman heard of her to inquire of such an obvious matter? Well.. she shouldn't colour herself so surprised. She did bring down a small fleet of warships single handedly.. she could only imagine the stories spun of her in Noxus.
"I very much do, yes. I am not so different to other humans- in fact I would love a cup of tea, if Noxus serves it. Oh! Forgive me." The Lady would pull herself to her feet, dusting off her golden yellow saree before bowing deeply. "I'd forgotten to introduce myself. I am called Karma. What of you?"
HER FELLOW NOXIANS FILED OUT in a cacophony of disgruntled noises with Mariam lingering by the doorway to drink in their surroundings, an ancient habit she had no intention of shaking off. The townhouse they had repurposed for this meeting was close to shore, the breeze messing up her curls a sweet reminder of home. Boats bobbed gently up and down on the waters as sailors attended their cargo, though from where she was standing they more closely resembled ants, each carrying a single breadcrumb in their mighty jaws.
Melancholy aside, she did note a curious absence of the men who supposedly accompanied Karma — the very same who’d been instructed to collect her once discussions had wrapped up and ensure safe passage to her designated lodgings. The reason behind this decision wasn’t to restrict her movement as lesser minds might make it out to be, but rather to mark her as an official guest. The Drakkengate wasn’t quite as cosmopolitan as the capital, and Ionian visitors were regarded with great contempt that often escalated into violence. While the avatar would have no trouble obliterating a gang of ruffians, avoiding a repeat of the frigate incident was preferred, especially now that it could easily get interpreted as an act of war.
Thus had been Algor’s argument. Matter of fact, it was the steward’s unabated insistence that ultimately enabled the above-described expenditure of resources otherwise needed for the war against Ionia, the very country she was representing.
Mariam retrieved her cloak from the rack, thoroughly inspecting every pocket and crevice for ill-intentioned gifts. She shot Karma a polite smile, pulling the weighty fabric over leather-padded shoulders with the ease of one who was accustomed to wearing armor to diplomatic meetings.
Tumblr media
“Wandering off on your own as an Ionian is dangerous in these parts. Allow me to accompany you to some fresh air since your bodyguards are… ” she rolled her tongue around her mouth, eyeing Karma with small, calculating eyes, “missing from their posts. Do you happen to know where they’ve gone? They need to be held accountable for this insubordination.”
Whatever Karma’s answer, she would go on to inquire about the avatar’s wants. “Do you still have bodily needs, like food or drink? I’m afraid sleep is out of the question right now, as my companions will want us back in about an hour. That’s usually as deep as their patience goes.”

Karma could feel the annoyance from yards away. Empathy worked on demons, not as well as humans, but it worked. Her approach was slow, cautious. She wasn’t trying to be stealthy, not with the silver payals on her ankles tinkling with each step she took.
The demon didn’t… appear malicious. How surprising. There were few oni nowadays who wanted to live peacefully, and that was a most woeful thing… considering that most she had met were only corrupted spirits.
“Good evening to you.” Karma would call out, pulling her dark orange veil off of her head to rest on her shoulders. Being the head authority on all matters spiritual, it was up to her to find out why this demon was here.

Kokuen sat idly , watching the world go by in a small village when a few figures approached him, looking spooked by his small horns and claws. He stayed put, trying to explain to them that he wasn’t trying to do them any harm. He might’ve been a demon but he wasn’t one that was out to harm mortals.
Mildly annoyed, he watched the group leave, shaking his head and muttering and leaning back into the wall. Kokuen took his pipe out, taking a long, slow drag and blowing it into the air before sighing, stowing his pipe in his kimono once again. Closing his eyes, he listened to the sound of the wind before hearing the sound of footsteps once more, clenching his jaw slightly in annoyance.
He pulled his scarf up around his mouth to hide it, looking up to see who might’ve been approaching.

Desperate times well and truly called for desperate measures.
Not simple was the decision to travel to the Drakkengate. To Noxus. With her most recent encounter with the Mist, however... that was enough to spur her forward, having become too impatient with the slow sailing of the ship.
There had been yet another three days to go before the Ionian ship made it to the Drakkengate... But time was of the essence. The range shouldn't be so much of an issue as it could have been back home. She had spoken not a word as she tore open a spirit gate and stepped through.
Coming out the side, Karma stepped onto a beach of sorts, her mind heavy and vision fuzzy for a few moments. When she pulled herself together however... she took in her surroundings. This... was definitely the right place, albeit a little off... just up the hill was the main.. town? She was unsure of how Noxus labelled their settlements.
She'd thought that being early would allow her time to rest. But clearly time was of the essence to her hosts, and straight into the meeting it was... and she could feel the animosity radiating from many diplomats, could see the jabs and thinly veiled threats. Now was not the time to rise to the prodding, and she remained peaceful and impassive.
How grateful was she that one of the other diplomats called for a recess. Karma was unsure of where the other woman was from.. but guessed someplace west- Shurima maybe? Something about her reminded Karma of the Curator she'd befriended...
Oh well... Did Noxus have tea? She could really go for a cup..
Starter for @inspired-flame. Sorry about the delay! I was battling a light headache & nausea combo as I was editing this, so it's a little rough 'round the edges.
Algor agreed to host this meeting, not that he had much of a choice. The good steward took special care to accommodate the unexpected guests, tidying up the town hall, stringing up some frayed banners, and despite his best efforts describing the setting as ‘modest’ would be almost too kind. The Drakkengate couldn’t hope to compare to Prime or Tereshni.
Tensions raised from the arrival of two recent news: the Mist was spotted rapidly advancing from ruined Demacia, and the visiting diplomat was revealed as belonging to an opposing faction. Mariam almost commended her bravery, and then remembered this was the same woman who reduced an entire warship to cinders just a couple of years back — with her mind. Safe to say she was not disadvantaged despite being denied rest by her Noxian host. They argued time was brief, which it was, while evidently aiming to exploit her travel-weary state. For her part, Mariam had nothing to gain from breaking Karma down, so she focused on formulating a plan to combat the impending threat.
Her compatriots were firm in their own agendas, spreading a map over the table with little wooden figurines placed over notable landmarks. As the hour candle melted down to a stub, so did their pretense. Mariam felt her face heat up with embarrassment as the discussion began to veer off towards matters of war. After a few more minutes of thinly-veiled threats, she stood, collecting the figurines against a backdrop of protests from her fellow Noxians.
“We are overdue for a break,” she said, dropping the carvings back into their box. “Take this time to revise your strategies. I would like to hear suggestions from you as well the next time we gather around this table.”

…What is scurvy? Well, that didn’t matter. As long as it was being treated…
“I should hope so.” She couldn’t help but jerk a tad at the hand on her shoulder, a prick of pain shooting down her arm at the force. She made a note to remind herself to fortify her brittle frame when in the doctor’s presence. “With your medical prowess and my magic, I’m sure we will be able to do plenty of good for the people.”
@inspired-flame followed
“Mundo think you is very pretty! Mundo new in Ionia land, do doctors without borders here. Mundo heard Noxian do bad things and hurt people, leaves many patients for doctor Mundo!“

“Oh my, I didn’t realize.” There was much for the woman to learn about this place! All she had been told by the Elders back in Ionia was that the Freljord was cold and run by barbarians… it was refreshing to hear they were wrong.
She’d join Lissandra at the table then, eyeing the salmon with barely concealed hunger. “I believe you’re a wonderful host, your majesty. I could not have hoped for a kinder reception.”
“Please don’t send me away. If you do, they’ll kill me.”
Lissandra steeples her fingers, her blind gaze staring down at her. "And what, can you offer?"
