QUEEN - WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS
Filmed at the New Royal Theater, London. (October 7th, 1977)
“The band felt that the video needed a live feel to it yet again, but unlike previous attempts at capturing Queen's stage show in a three minute clip, this time they wanted an audience. Hiring extras would be far too expensive, so for the first time the band turned their attention to the official fan club.”
Directed by Derek Burnbridge.

QUEEN - SCANDAL
Filmed at Pinewood Studios, London (Sept 27th, 1989)
“The song unfortunately failed to generate much airplay, but with help from Queen's UK record company releasing no fewer than six versions of the single, the band's most faithful fans helped it get to a respectable number 25 in the national singles charts.”
"(,,,) It was a pretty serious song – not serious in the sense that I think it's that great (laughs), but in that there was a lot of reality in the lyrics for me... I don't think it's totally successful, this video, as a portrayal of what's in the song. It's a kind of brave attempt, but it's a little cold, and you don't really see the band interacting as a band. It's a bit stagey. But at least it makes you think of what the song's really about." - Brian May (2003)

ABOUT: THE RED SPECIAL
“In August 1963, when Brian was 16, he and his father Harold started the work on his electric guitar. The guitar's neck is made out of Mahogany from an old fireplace. The body is mainly of oak, and the tremolo is made of an old knife edge and two motorbike valve springs. The fret-marks on the neck of the guitar is made out of old pearl buttons. The guitar quickly got known as the Red Special. For guitar pics, Brian uses something so special as an old sixpence coin.”
“My dad and I decided to make an electric guitar. I designed an instrument from scratch, with the intention that it would have a capability beyond anything that was out there, more tunable, with a greater range of pitches and sounds, with a better tremolo, and with a capability of feeding back through the air in a 'good' way'." - Brian May
