I would sell my soul at this point. Please, please, PLEASE, if ANYONE can help my baby and I escape this hell we live in. She is only 10 months old and I don't want her to remember or be scarred by the horrors felt by her father. The physical and mental abuse is something I'm so terribly afraid of her remembering subconsciously. I've never been so ready and eager to leave. I know that we cannot be safe or happy until we escape this madness. I'd do anything for a place for us to be safe. Please please please help us. I've never been more desperate and I need Someone. Please help us. Please please please help us. I can leave tonight with my baby but need some help. I have no family. I've reached out to Charities. We are in the middle of Nowhere. There's not much help here. A hostel is 200 a month. That's all I need for us to get away. For the love of any thing that is good please consider helping us.

Do know what’s really scary? You want to forget something. Totally wipe it off your mind. But you never can. It can’t go away, you see. And it follows you around like a ghost.

“I don’t want to sound too academic, but there’s a suspension of rationalism in Night of the Living Dead. The zombies are drifting away from any kind of identity or meaning. They’re not monsters that come from outside the social structure, like Godzilla or Frankenstein; they are the remnants of that broken social structure. They come from within; they are us. In addition to being monsters, they are also victims, because they didn’t ask to be reanimated. It’s complicated and amazing to me, what Romero did. The way we think of zombies now—as slow-moving and undead—is because of him. In our film we echo, in very obvious ways, the commodity fetishism and the dead end of capitalism’s goal of endless consumption that he portrays so beautifully.”
— Dead Neighbors: Jim Jarmusch on George A. Romero (via baddreamland)

i think the bluebeard tale is one of the most sadistic semblances of the death and the maiden narrative, not bc of the way in which he murders his brides, but bc his seduction comes in the form of a marriage. these girls (often not yet women) are to endure a torturous, desolate death as a punishment for their greatest and only sin: succumbing to him of their own accord

My favourite thing about the ‘Psalter and Rosary of the Virgin (from f. 27), in two versions, and other devotional texts, including a litany’ is that there’s just many pages dedicated to drops of blood.
