"You and the dragon are coming with us, Jedi." "Hmmm... my lightsabers say we're not."

Next in my series of Jedi Princesses: Raya! Raya is a capable warrior, so I envisioned her as a hardened Order 66 survivor, roaming the planet of Kumandra, searching for a fabled Force-being that will unite the land. In her efforts to protect herself from Inquisitors - which include her childhood friend from the Jedi temple, Namaari - I could see her scavenging old Clone Trooper armor and incorporating pieces into her outfit. I looked to prominent Order 66 survivors, Cal Kestis and Ahsoka Tano, for costume inspiration. Ahsoka’s live-action outfit is already very Asian-inspired, so it was easy to draw visual similarities between her costume and Raya’s. And Raya’s cloak translated well into a poncho, of which I hope Cal would approve! Also, her hat came from one that you can see Cast Members at Galaxy's Edge wear!

And I just realized that I’ve drawn the two Jedi Princesses whose actors were in Star Wars: Mulan for Ming-Na Wen, and now Raya for Kelly Marie Tran!

Fun fact: I thought about giving her blue lightsabers, which are typical of Jedi Warriors. But I settled on green because a) it fits her color palette and b) green is associated with Jedi Consulars, who are known to fight mainly to protect... and Raya's people are the guardians of the Dragon Gem.

“I am Moana of Motonui and you will get in my X-Wing, fly across the galaxy, and restore the heart of Te Fiti!”

Here’s Jedi Moana! Since Moana is a voyager and travels using the stars as her guide, I thought it’d be fitting for her to be a pilot flying among the stars. Her lightsaber is inspired by her oar (complete with a Maui autograph) and the shell she leaves behind on Motonui… and the heart of Te Fiti as the kyber crystal! As for HeiHei… I thought about turning him into some Star Wars critter, but it just seems appropriate that no matter what universe he’s in, he’s just a chicken 😂

Can confirm that the entirety of the Pantages Theater GASPED SO LOUD and immediately cheered at this quick change. I immediately became a blubbering, sobbing mess because 1. Pure stage magic 2. Elsa 3. Let It Go. And let me tell you that I have STUDIED videos of the change and all I can tell is that the dress gets sucked into the stage. Otherwise, I have NO idea how it’s done. The answer. ACTUAL MAGIC.

And THIS is why I encourage everyone to attend live theater when possible!

“Flowers… I remember fields of flowers soft beneath my heels…”

I’ve had Hadestown on my mind, so I decided to do an Inktober piece of Eurydice. Seeing “Flowers” performed live was so powerful 🥀

Fun fact: I did a sketch of this in Procreate (just quick pencil lines), liked it, printed it, and went over it with my inks! I love experimenting with different art techniques during Inktober!

This is easily THE most niche fanart series I’ve ever drawn: Stormlight Archive meets Barbie!

I was thinking about how Adolin is basically the Ken of the main characters, and then I wanted to draw Barbie-themed posters of Shallan, Radiant, and Veil, and it all spiraled out of control from there.

Honestly, this was some of the most fun I’ve had drawing in a while (especially Kaladin lol). Also, it was really fun coming up with each of the poster subtitles 😂

“I want adventure in the great wide galaxy! I want it more than I can tell…”

As much as Belle loves the stories told on the holocrons in the Jedi Archive she helps guard, what she really wants is a real Jedi adventure as told in the legends she knows so well. Her chance comes from a distress signal on a remote planet in the Outer Rim. Thankfully, she makes a droid friend, CHIP2-D2, who explains that the inhabitants of this planet are cursed…

Another redraw of an older piece! Jedi Belle and CHIP2-D2 were originally drawn back in 2015. Belle has always been the hardest Disney Princess for me to draw, so I took an extra long time studying model sheets and screenshots so I could get her just right. With the updated version, I wanted to add more embellishments to both Belle and Chip and include references to the movie with the rose and stained glass. I’m quite happy with the final result, but I must admit that I was getting tired of looking at this piece for so long 😅
