This extremely well-known phrase which has morphed into so from the Latin proverb "Children are children and will act childish" has found its way into the music industry too. Here are only a few examples out of many, many more-

1. "Boys will be Boys" by Dua Lipa

2. "Boys will be Boys" by The Backstreet Boys

3. "Boys will be Boys" by Ben J. Pierce

4. "Boys will be Boys" by Gear Daddies

All these songs have the same titles/names but on going through the lyrics, it can be distinguished very clearly as to which is written from whose perspective. like how, Dua Lipa- as a woman herself- through her song, strives to spread knowledge and awareness about how 'Boys will be boys' is outrageously used as a lame excuse for serious offences like sexual assault and harassment. How this originally innocent and simple phrase makes every girl's heart beat faster with fear and humiliation and rage to an extent. How "Boys will be boys/ But girls will be women".

However, the song by the Backstreet Boys uses the phrase in their song to justify indicatively vulgar lyrics like "But I try to get closer/And you always push me away/(Oh)/You tell me it's much too soon/But I just can't help it" and "I hear you saying that you think that we should wait/And I can't hold on any more/My body's callin' for you so please don't hesitate no" also, in the next stanza, "Boys will be boys/You ought to know by now, baby", thus presenting this phrase as an extremely gross, vague and sorry excuse for his sexual impulse and lack of control over himself and his desires; and how he tries to convince the girl to engage in such activities with him despite her rejecting his advances.

Ben J. Pierce's song portrays how how this toxic phrase indicates and empowers toxic masculinity and its equally toxic effects.

While, the Gear Daddies' song goes on to show how "Boys will be boys and they'll always be jerks" and "And from what she's seen this is how things work/They come in sweet and they go out cold", not to forget, "She's fucked again and she don't know why/She loves him still she just keeps on trying/All she wants are things that everyone needs/But she knows... Yeah she's fucked again"

Things that happen in this video:

1. Harry says “you need nine inches” while talking about donating his hair? not sure where he was going with it tbh.

2. Billy Crystal acually leans his whole body forward to look at Louis and raise his eyebrows.

literally there is no other explaination for this. not one. harry accidently makes sexual innuendo. everyone’s mind is in the gutter and automatically thinks 9 inch dick. Billy goes out of his way to look impressed at LOUIS, not harry. Louis gestures at his own dick twice and raises his eyebrows. i hate to analyze their joke but there’s no other reason this could have happened.
