I feel like I've missed a lot of information. You guys are ending the podcast? Why? Was there a post somewhere I missed?
Sorry about that, when we made the announcement on Patreon, we forgot about other platforms.
Basically, a mounting series of real-life responsibilities has made it difficult to keep up the show, which while very fun is also very time-consuming. We tried to power through, but we've obviously been missing more and more deadlines and falling ever behind our planned schedule.
Hopefully, we'll be able to return to the Game Chamber in the future, but for now it was best to close the doors.

I wish you'd given us some warning so I could have backedu p appropriately. Can you please make the HBGC Secret Theater available publicly? I can no longer access it since the Patreon got taken down. Thanks.
That's good idea, we forgot about ST. We'll throw those up on the Soundcloud this week.

Will this page and the soundcloud remain up so we can still listen to episodes in the future?
Yeah, we're not planning to scrub the podcast from the internet or anything.

Just wanted to thank y'all. I had a lot of fun listening to your stuff over the years and even if you're not recording podcasts about it, I hope that you two never stop enjoying dumb games and goofing on em with each other
Thank you for listening to us ramble about silly men with names like Ashley Riot and Gogandantess (greatest swordsman of all demons, btw) :)

I think the strength of Resident Evil is how much extra “Shit That Didn’t Happen” it layers over the standard zombie narrative.
Actually every Resident Evil game is based on real events that happened to Shinji Mikami’s dad.
Even Gaiden.

The boys take a trip to a place that is definitely not Spain at all to talk about one of the most lauded games of all time: 4 Resident Evil!
Leon S. Kennedy is back, a newly minted agent of the United States Secret Service. His mission: rescue the president's daughter who has been kidnapped by a backwoods cult. His method: kicking. And because this is a Resident Evil game, there's monsters and mutants and even a mine cart!

Speaking of bizarre ass games with recent re-releases, SaGa Frontier. The remaster drops next month, even without the new content there's loads of stuff to talk about, what with 7 playable characters and storylines.
I don’t know about Greg but I am extremely excited for SaGa Frontier’s remaster. I remember renting it multiple times as a kid, never getting anywhere because it was my first SaGa game and I kept assuming it just played like Final Fantasy, but being completely fascinated by the weirdness and mash-up of settings and genres.
Could very well be a solid ep.

Stubbs the Zombie episode when? Re-release just came out!
Y’know, when I saw that pop-up on steam, my first thought was “Man, that game gets requests A LOT.”
Probably sometime this year.

I looked up Jesse’s age on the Xenowiki. Thirty-five, of course.
that absolutely ancient in JRPG terms

We continue trying to unravel the onion that is Xenogears. Our search for answers has led us to...Catholic cowboys? In this episode, we meed the best side character in the game, shoot up a ghost ship, uncover a centuries old conspiracy and discover a lost city of wonders. All while the main character is in a coma! This game is pretty wild, gang.

A lot of stuff happened last year. But also a bunch of video games came out! We take our annual look back at the highs and lows we had in the past 12 months. In gaming, anyway. Only gaming. We talk about good tunes, dastardly mysteries and big, big boys!
Also, Jared tries to make a joke about current events but reveals he only reads like half a headline and assumes he got the gist.

You think people on Capcom saw all the Mr. X in speedo vids and got an idea for the Tyrant Lady on RE VIIlage?
*Capcom artists staring at a chalkboard covered in math equations* People like...tall? Very tall? Let’s try Very Tall for now, and see how that goes.

Our Xenogears saga continues! In jail! Fei Fong Wong wakes up after the battle for Aveh to a mix of good and bad news. Good news: he's alive. Bad news: he's a prisoner of the Kislev Empire. Luckily, the Nortune prison runs on a fighting tournament based economy, so Fei has an edge.
Meeting Rico Banderas, who definitely does not infringe on any copyrights whatsoever, Fei gets caught up in the investigation of a string of brutal killings. Can he solve the case AND become king of the ring? Why is Citan there? Who is that Wiseman guy anyway? And hey, what's the Purge thing those Geblers keep talking about?
All these mysteries and more in Xenogears Act 2!

At long last, we embark on a saga. A saga of kung fu, robots, and divinity. A saga known as Xenogears.
In this first part of our journey through the 1998 cult classic, we meet our hero Fei Fong Wong. He has a problem: robot violence. Also amnesia, but the robot violence is the main thing. Caught up in the middle of a centuries long war, Fei suffers from the loss of his home and crushing guilt at his role in its destruction. But whatever because Bart the Pirate King has a corrupt regime to topple, so Fei has more robo-battling ahead of him.
Through it all, we are confronted by the ultimate question: Dost thou desire The Power?

After the end of the last episode, I’m worried about what your new “most requested game” will be. You don’t deserve the punishment if DNF, cover Too Human instead.
To be fair, DNF is the shorter of the two games...

The most requested game we've ever had, it is finally time to face the legendary Sonic '06!
In this reboot(?), Sonic intervenes in Eggman's evil schemes yet again and rescues the Princess of the bizarre nation of Soleanna. While he pursues whatever his dark designs are, Sonic is pursued by a mysterious time traveler seeking to save a blighted future. Meanwhile, Shadow the Hedgehog has no time for all this nonsense and nearly resolves the narrative all by himself in his desperate scramble to get out of this game. And poor old Eggman falls off the wagon.

Catching up through the archive and just finished the Devil May Cry 3 ep. Talk about ultimate power slug bosses reminded me that Overlord 2 did that same deal. I guess idiots turning into slug monsters by shoving ALL THE POWER into themselves is just a thing.
It’s a pretty easy way of demonstrating a big bad’s hubris. JRPGs use it a lot, so does Resident Evil 2.
As an aside, those Overlord games would be pretty fun episodes. Those little goblins are some of the most lovable monsters in the medium.
