The last event of the weekend was a private party for the royal friends and family. Poor Vivi had fallen asleep during the car ride back to the hotel after the concert so she was left behind to rest. Princess Alexandra and Prince Christopher we’re allowed to attend and had a delightful time socializing with the other royal children. Amalia and Fredrick soaked in the last bits of seeing their friends as it was difficult now that they were all older to see each other often. Amalia gave one final congratulations to her friend on her crowning and insisted that if Catherine was in need of anything, she was just a phone call away.

The next day there was to be a special concert featuring traditional Quisque music along with more modern singers as well. All three of the royal children were in attendance and it was a joy to watch the next generation of royal children interact in public.

The evening of the investiture, there was a black tie reception. Of their three children, Freddie and Amalia thought that it was only appropriate for Alexandra to attend. The three royals congratulated their friends and mingled with the other royals. It was a delightful evening and Amalia was so pleased with how her eldest daughter behaved.

After the signing of the abdication papers came the Investiture and Crowning. It was simply a majestic event that made Amalia both nostalgic for hers and Fredrik’s own crowning and proud of Catherine and Charlie. She knew all too well about the responsibility that now rested on the couples shoulders but she knew that they both were up to the challenge.

All the children were in Attendence and Amalia and Fredrik were so pleased with their younger children’s behavior during the ceremony.

For such a special occasion, Amalia pulled out the big guns. She wore the Nordvik Tiara that is traditionally reserved for the Queen of Lilistaad. This is one of the first times Amalia has worn the jewel. Princess Alexandra dig deep into her mothers closet, wearing a vintage dress first worn by her mother before she was crowned Queen. She also debuted a new tiara that had recently also been worn by her mother before she was queen as well. Also on her finger for the first time sat Queen Maud’s emerald ring, which had been given to her for her twentieth birthday a few months earlier.

The signing of the abdication documents was always a serious affair and while Amalia looked on at her friend, she remembered the day that Fredrik had done the same almost ten years previous.

All three children attended this event and it was a good opportunity for them to once again mingle with the other royal children. It brought both Fredrik and Amalia great pleasure knowing their children had friends of the same age that would be going through the same things. Being a royal was a unique experience and it was going to benefit their children very much having other royal children in such close age to grow up with.

The next evening was the pre-coronation reception. As this was white tie, it was decided that both Christopher and Vivi would not attend. Much to his mothers displeasure, Christopher had spent the day at an ice rink that was close to the palace insisting he couldn’t take even a weekend off of practice. Having the support of his father, however, meant that Amalia couldn’t argue much. So once the evening rolled around, Christopher was quite tired and perfectly fine with missing the reception.

Alexandra was pleased to be allowed to attend as this was one of the first international events she has attended and had the opportunity to wear a tiara. Amalia chose to wear her birthday tiara that Fredrik purchased for her many year ago. Alexandra chose to wear a tiara that had belonged to her great-grandmother Alexandra, of whom she is named after. The amethyst necklace Alexandra wore that night had also belonged to her great-grandmother.

That evening, there was a evening reception for the visiting royals and other foreign dignitaries hosted by the King. Fredrik, Amalia, Alexandra and Christopher were all in attendance but it was decided that Vivi, at 13, was still too young to attend formal evening events.

Fredrik and Amalia were able to visit with all of their royal friends and congratulate Catherine and Charlie. It was such a joy to see all of their children, who weren’t really ‘children’, anymore, mingle and visit.

Amalia and Fredrik had decided that the entire family would be traveling with them to Quisque and all three children would be able to attend most events. The first event of the weekend was a garden party hosted at the Violet Palace. All three children were in attendance, with this being the first foreign party attended by both Christopher and Vivi.

The children were able to catch up with their foreign royal counterparts, especially the Malfoy royal family with whom they were all close in age with.

The garden party was a wonderful way to start the weekend.

Flash forward - 2041

The year is 2041 and Fredrik and Amalia have been King and Queen of Lillistaad for just over ten years now. Fredrik’s father had decided in 2030 that his time as King was coming to an end and had abdicated in favor of his son that summer. The couple has three children now:

Princess Alexandra Amalia Isla Sophia - May 21, 2021 - at 20 years old, Princess Alexandra has just finished her university studies in international relations and economics. She is an accomplished equestrian rider and represented Lillistaad in the last summer Olympics, winning silver in the individual Show jumping event and bronze in the team jumping event. She has recently moved back to Lillistaad and lives on the grounds of the palace in her own apartments.

Prince Christopher Magnus Fredrik Joseph - September 19, 2023- At 17 (almost 18) years old, Prince Christopher is enjoying his secondary school years in Lillistaad, having chosen to stay close to his family instead of going the traditional route and attending a boarding school. He plays ice hockey and played on the nations junior team during the world junior championships this past winter. There are rumors that Christopher will be drafted into the NHL later in the summer, rumors which the palace has chosen not to comment on at the time.

Princess Vivienne Elizabeth Kirstin Josephine - February 3, 2028 - at 13, Princess Vivienne is the youngest of the royal children. She is an avid equestrian like her older sister Alexandra but also excels in art and music. She hopes to follow in her sisters footsteps one day and represent her country in the Olympics.

That evening, the Malfoy royal court was hosting the state dinner in honor of Amalia and Fredrik’s visit. For the event, Amalia had chosen to wear her wedding tiara, which was still one of her favorites. Her necklace was one from the family vaults but it was the earrings that were special. They had been a gift to Fredrik’s mother from King Draco upon her wedding to Fredrik’s father. Queen Sofia had suggested that Amalia wear them that night in honor of the visit and Amalia agreed readily.

The banquet was gorgeously decorated and both Amalia and Fredrik had a wonderful time talking with diplomats and Malfoy dignitaries. It was late at night when the dinner wrapped up and the couple finally made their way back to their rooms in the palace.

After lunch, Molly took Alexandra for the rest of the day so her parents could attend a science symposium focused on developing better sustainability so the oceans that surrounded both Lillistaad and Malfoy could continue to flourish. Fredrik opened the symposium with a short speech on how important it was to preserve the worlds oceans for the next generation, citing that this issue was closer to his heart now that he had a daughter that needed a bright future in this world. Alix and Thaddeus both participated in the discussions while Amalia sat with her husband and observed, giving her opinions here and there throughout the meetings.

After ensuring Alexandra was settled down for her nap, Amalia and Fredrik left Molly watching the sleeping princess so they could attend lunch. The entire Malfoy royal family was in Attendence, including King Draco who was very close to Fredrik’s parents. The King had even been named godfather to Fredrik’s older brother the late Prince Liam. Amalia had met most of the family save for the Kings sister, Princess Marie and her husband Lord Edmund.

At lunch, Amalia was seated next to Alix on one side and the dowager Queen Narcissa on the other. Amalia enjoyed both women’s presence and friendship so it was a lovely lunch. After the lunch the royals went into one of the palaces many drawing rooms for an official portrait that would be issued to the press later that evening. As Alexandra had woken up from her nap as the photo was being set up, King Draco suggested they take a few shots with the Princess present as well. The ones with the little Princess were some of the best shots they got and a few were issued along with the official photo of just the adults.

The morning after the Opera, Amalia, Fredrik, and Alexandra joined Alix and Thaddeus on the train to Hogsmeade for the next part of the trip. They would be attending an official lunch hosted by King Draco and the rest of the royal family.

Alexandra was fascinated by the train station and loved the train ride. She spent nearly the entire ride sitting on Alix’s lap and was the center of attention.

The ride was quick and soon the two royal couples had arrived and parted ways for a quick rest and to change for the luncheon.

Alexandra did wonderful at the cultural center and both Amalia and Fredrik enjoyed the extra time with their daughter. When the engagement was over, the family traveled back to the palace to put the baby down for a nap and to get ready for that evenings engagement.

The couple would be joining Alix and Thaddeus to the Opera where they would watch an opera that had been written in 1730 by Fillius Flitwick. Amalia adored the Opera so she was excited to attend with her friends. The opera was based on the relationship of Malfoy’s Queen Eladora I and her husband Archduke Karl Ludwig of Austria. It was a gorgeous story and the four royals enjoyed it immensely.

After the mornings engagement, the four friends went back to the palace to spend some time with the little princess and give the nanny another break. It was absolutely adorable seeing Alix and Thaddeus dots on the little girl and Amalia was pleased that Ali’s had accepted the honor of being Alexandra’s godmother.

At the last minute, Alix came up with an idea: bring princess Alexandra with them to the tour of the library at the Scorpius Cultural Center. The visit was already focused on children so Alix though it would be fun to include the baby princes. Without a second through, Amalia and Fredrik agreed and quickly changed Alexandra into a cute dress and tights that had been a gift from Alix just the day before. Molly came along just in case Alexandra got fussy and needed a break.

Amalia was a bit nervous at how Alexandra might react to the crowds, but she was generally a happy baby so she thought it would be fine. And, it turned out she was right. Everyone was delighted to meet the little princess and the press got a plethora of photos of the family and the other royal couple. They all met with 2 local authors and discussed their newly released children’s books with a group of kids. To end the engagement, Fredrik read one of the books aloud to the children, including his own daughter. Amalia was impressed with how well Alexandra did and was happy her friend had suggest including her in the visit.

Day Two

Despite getting back late from the reception the night before, Amalia and Fredrik were up early the next morning to spend some quiet time with Alexandra while Molly took the morning to herself. Amalia was having a hard time adjusting to not seeing her baby so often so she treasured the time she had with her that morning.

Soon it was time to leave for the first engagement of the day: a visit to a youth center. The two royal couples toured the center, which provided the areas youth a place to be creative and enrich their lives, and got the chance to speak to some of the staff and youth that spent their afternoons there. After the tour, the four royals enjoyed lunch with their hosts and were able to chat some more about how they benefited from the center and how Lilistaad might benefit from centers like this one.

That evening after the business summit was a jointly hosted reception between Lillistaad and Malfoy. Amalia kissed Alexandra as Molly took her off to bed. She was sad knowing she wasn’t doing the tucking in but thankful they had found such an amazing nanny in Molly. She trusted her implicitly.

The reception was being held at Lillistaad’s embassy in Malfoy and Amalia had been asked to give a welcome speech to the dignitaries and guests gathered. Although this was the norm for her now, she still got butterflies in her stomach before a speech. Fredrik was by her side and gave her the courage she needed when she needed it and for that she was grateful.

After her speech, Amalia made her way around the room, sometimes with her husband and sometimes with Alix, greeting and talking to those gathered. It was a wonderful night that Amalia enjoyed immensely.
