In case you didn't know Finland has now changed it's flag, this is 100% true and pictured below is the official new design of the said flag, you can ask any Finn and they will agree
After learning a bit more about the case I would also like to add this one:
The abuse incidents in the UK were proved on civil legal standards aka more likely it happened than didn't, which, while sounding very damning, is NOWHERE NEAR the "beyond reasonable doubt" that would have been used in criminal court
Hello dear. I hope you are doing well. I have heard that Depp lost his case in UK and that proves he is the abuser. I saw JD fans say losing to The Sun doesn't mean anything. Do you know whether it's important and how it affects the current case? Thank you
There are a few reasons why UK trial ended the way it did. Firstly, because the case was against the Sun and not Heard, Heard was treated as a witness and not an opposing party, which may have made her statements more credible to the court. Then there were also rumors that the judge's son was working in the Sun, hence the ruling, but I don't know if that's actually true. Then also, some of the audio tapes where Heard admits the abuse came only after this trial.
So it's very likely that the UK trial came to the conclusion it did purely based on Heard's statements. Because she was a witness and not the one getting sued, her claims were probably more credible to the court. Now, when she's the one getting sued she has to actually start finding proof to back up her claims and so far we have not seen any credible proof for those statements.
So in the court of public opinion? The Sun trial doesn't matter that much because now people can see that the ruling was made without that much of a proof
Legally, I don't think the Sun trial's result itself is that big of a deal to the jury, because they can probably see that there is no other proof that Heard's claims
What the UK trial will affect though is the part where Depp's team has to prove that Heard's op-ed (written in 2018) was the one piece that destroyed Depp's reputation. Heard's team has brought up the possibility that it wasn't the op-ed that ruined Depp's reputation but the Sun trial (which happened already in 2016). And I think this is the thing that might ruin Depp's case if anything because it will be very hard to tell which caused more damage to his reputation (Depp's team has a few expert witnesses saying that the true damage was done by op-ed but you'll never know if jury thinks these are credible witnesses)
Yeah so also fun fact, the maximum amount of public vote points this year would've been 468 so Ukraine scoring the little over 430 is a HUGE DEAL, congrats Ukraine, Slava Ukraini
Swedish commentator: New rule. If two countries end up with the same number of points on Saturday, the winner will be the one who can stay the longest on Achille's mechanical bull.
