I love One Punch Man and the friendship between Garou and Tareo is wonderful!
With that in mind, here's how I envision Tareo as a teenager and trained by the Garou.
Same pose, same outfit, (almost) same power!
Casual version. Inspired by @runlittlebluelady

Had the pleasure of drawing a scene from @greyskies2002’s WONDERFUL fic (don’t worry it has a happy ending) as a prize for winning a dumb contest in my discord server. Thanks dude!

There's nothing you can say to him
He is an outer heart
And the space has been broken
It's broken

the opm wiki lists okamaitachi as "female" and even uses she/her for him even though the manga uses he/him and his name is literally OKAMA-itachi (okama is slang for transexual in japan, often derogatory) HES NOT A WOMAN

And then Garou didn't eat dinner that day (very clever of him to piss off the guy who's cooking for everyone)
Based on @kaincuro's (in)correct quote, Tama is indeed the best character from OPM so I felt compelled to draw this

Your art is amazing! I would love to hear your process behind it!
Wow! I’m touched. It seems like some of y'all want my my process behind this, and I uh, I made it in a couple of days with rapid and vague gut feelings behind them, so I hope it’s comprehensive! 😅
Childhood/innocence - I opted for big, golden eyes in this one, set against innocent blue skies. Lots of emotion, more of pondering, and the band aid is a foreshadowing of Genos always getting injured - only it’s not as trivial as a cut on a cheek.
Fire - the most defining moment of Genos’s life, up to the point it’s his main weapon. It’s also where his struggle on clinging to his humanity gets established. It’s kinda hard to see it in the lighting, but one half of the eye is red and bloodied, a reference to Garou. I’ve read meta somewhere that those eyes represent the human and monster side, and I do think Genos’s loss and devastation at that point in time awakened a darkness in him he keeps fighting against.
Death/Rebirth - unlike the other sequences, this one is perfectly symmetrical except for the bubbles. It’s the tipping point in his life — it’s the death of his human body and the birth of the cyborg Genos permanently becomes in pursuit of justice and vengeance. It’s 100% intentional to make it ambiguous on whether or not Genos is already a cyborg at this point - hence why you can’t see if he has his piercings or not (he only had them after he became a cyborg). The greatest hint would probably be the bubbles, but it’s up to you how you interpret that.
Cyborg of justice - a callback to Fire, this time his struggle with his humanity is more blatant — the chiaroscuro gets harsher, and the bloodied eye is now dangerously red. It is also a callback to Childhood - his hairstyle looks the same, but his eyes are now emotionless, having lost its innocence and naivety, his pallor is more grey and looks less human. The combination of those sequences created the cyborg we know now. It’s the least saturated part of the sequence for that reason.
Humanity/Hope - Genos has always been human, but I don’t think he has felt this human in years. Chapter 155 is an important chapter. His scleras are less dark, not fully human in color, but not so cyborg-like either. His eyes here also look the closest to what he had as a child to signify that. He may be broken, but he is alive, and he chooses to live. Genos may not be fully there yet, but he has come a long way.
