I want to explain a bit about how magic works in my lore and also share the idea of dragons not being animals but in fact a secret new magic-based lifeform <- also why breed changes are possible in this universe. it's the same magic taking on a new shape. scrolls are basically just a standardized set of instructions for how the dragon's body should reform itself. see I'm yapping already this is why I want to write + draw a whole thing about it

really want to do a little illustrated introduction to my lore's worldbuilding but I have so little time and even less motivation for creative projects rn ☹️ also every time I publicly say I want to do something I create a curse that eternally prevents me from doing it so really I should just not talk about these things ever. make moves in silence and whatnot

gaolers have kinda grown on me. after existing for like half a decade. but i feel like somebody needs to file down their claws, they look like theyre overgrowing! too curved! like a bird with bad perches. hate that one tert that makes it even worse lol how do they walk!!!!!

our boldest ancient designs before dusthides were "cute fluffy moth cat with a barely visible second set of arms" and "skydancer with two heads and a sleek body plan that immediately reads as cool" WE NEEDED A BALD FREAK WITH WEIRD ARMADILLO CLAWS!!!!

dusthides are genuinely the weirdest and ugliest breed we have on the site right now and this is a positive. their strange fucked up claws are revolutionary. their stupid smooth head is avant-garde. despite the fact that staff has managed to recycle the same body and face shape for the thousandth time dusthides have managed to set a precedent.

ok I really like lode and spores. very good genes. display/parade seem to be dimorphic and look way better on m pose imo.
