I haven’t posted in a while, but I’m working on week 10 of tracking my fitness progress.
I’ve been working out 3 times a week for the last 9 weeks, and tracking the reps, sets, and weight progression. I also recently started tracking how the last set feels so I can adjust my reps for the next week. It’s incredible to see where I started, and physically feel the progress I’ve made.
I noticed it the other day when I was moving around and doing things. My legs, arms and back feel stronger, and I’m sore today from the workouts I completed this week, so I’m definitely moving in the right direction.
I haven’t been tracking food, but I have placed priority on protein, so I make sure I’m getting enough of that to help my muscles grow. I am so happy, so excited, and so motivated to keep pushing.
Happy Thursday 🔥❤️💪

Haven’t updated in a while, but I haven’t been tracking and it’s been absolutely fine. I’ve managed to stay within the same weight range as when I was tracking.
I am getting stronger though, and I’m feeling so good about it. I also took a hike yesterday and did better than ever before. I’m really proud of my progress, and I’m so happy to be on this journey.
It’s been really hard, but I’ve been taking baby steps and just trying to do the next best thing for myself.

Looking back at my weight log, I’ve been the same weight for the past 6 months. Lots of things have changed, but it’s kind of frustrating not seeing the scale go down.
I’m sure my body composition is changing though, so I’m excited to see where this goes. I have about 4 months before my trip to Peru, so I’m anxiously waiting til that gets closer to shop for clothes.
Trying to trust the process to get the results I’m working hard for.

Been going through a lot of trial and error on this fitness journey.
Started off by doing fun GrowWithJo workouts on YouTube. That helped me stay consistent cause I loved the sweat, fun, and feeling good after those workouts. Then, I decided I wanted to build muscle, so I’ve been trying out different trainers and videos, but I just didn’t feel like I could track my progress as well that way.
Now, I’ve decided to build my own plan, and write everything down to keep track of how I’m doing. I wrote all the exercises I know how to do at the top as I watched some Instagram videos by GainsByPat, and built the structured exercises in my notebook.
I do 3 sets of each section, and divided the days into arms, legs, and full body. I’m also going to do a day of HIIT, but I’m going to just follow a video for that because that’s out of my range.
I’m really excited to see how this works out, but so far, if I focus on doing the moves slowly and engaging my muscles I can feel them working hard, which is super exciting. I can’t wait to have an update on my progress 😊

I’ve always been very private about my fitness, especially with my family who has always laughed at every attempt I’ve made before.
This time around I am so much stronger mentally that nothing can derail me. So I’ve been working out at my scheduled time whether I’m alone or not, and it’s been great.
The best part is that I’ve inspired my little brother to start working out again. It makes me so happy to see him working on himself because it’ll help his mental health too. He’s very private about his life, but I know he’s been struggling too, and this will be a step in the right direction.
I can’t wait to make more progress and hopefully inspire more people.

Not buying clothes right now is so hard. I want to get more cute outfits, but I don’t have the money to invest in a wardrobe that will only fit temporarily.
What I do want to do is get a cute bathing suit over the summer. I’ve never looked forward to summer like this before, and I definitely never looked forward to wearing a bathing suit, so I’m excited to find something I love and feel confident in it 🤩

Got through my first week of Caroline Girvan’s beginner Epic series, and it completely kicked my butt. If I thought I was working out before, she made that seem like childs play.
I appreciate it though because I can also see where I need to improve and build more strength.
I also decided to rework my macros and calories today because I felt like my protein was way too high since it was really hard to hit it, so I figured out that I had calculated it wrong.
My calories were definitely off because I was able to fit in way too much junk after hitting my previous protein goal, so I lowered it a bit. At the end of this week I didn’t see a lot of progress on the scale, which also leads me to believe my calories might be too high.
I’m excited to see how next week goes. Figuring it out as I go, and I’m happy to be getting stronger and slimmer.

Today was a bit rough in terms of eating.
Started out with a killer arm and should workout, then I baked some cookies for some people who helped me yesterday, but I baked extra for my family. Ended up having a bunch of cookies, and some honey roasted nut mix.
On one hand, I wanted to kill the craving, but, on the other hand, I let myself go too far.
It was a learning experience, and maybe I’ve been restricting too much, but tomorrow is a new day and I’m excited.

I’m going to Peru in about 4 months, and I’m so excited I want to start clothes shopping to find cute outfits to wear. The only problem is that I’ll probably be a completely different weight than I am now, so I’ll have to wait at least a couple more months to start shopping for the trip.
So stoked to have the opportunity to go on this trip, and to feel good about myself to be confident in what I wear. It’s going to be so awesome.

I’m so mad I didn’t take any before pictures because I just noticed my back fat is gone 😭
I’ve been so focused on my belly that I’ve completely ignored the transformation my back has made. I am beyond happy with how it’s coming along.

Went on a two week hunting trip and had a ton of fun. Gained a couple of pounds cause I was making sure I ate well for the strenuous hiking/work. Since getting back I’ve dropped a pound, and slowly dropping the next one.
I’m really proud of myself for easily transitioning back into my eating and workout schedule. Can’t wait to see more results with consistency.

Today’s non-scale victory: feeling the strength in my lungs as I sang.
I started this journey last April because I was so annoyed with not being able to breathe normally. On top of that, I couldn’t sing like I used to because all my muscles were weak, and I had fat crushing my lungs.
Now, my lungs feel clear and free, my singing has improved, and my mid-section feels generally open and free.

I’ve been strength training for a couple weeks now since I found a tiktoker who made a two day plan that is effective. It has been super helpful in getting me started, but now I’m craving more.
Today I did an arms and shoulders YouTube workout, and I can tell I’ll be super sore tomorrow. I have no idea how to set up a weekly strength training routine, but I’m winging it and I’m really happy to be all in.
I also love that this increases my calorie intake because it gives me so much freedom to play around with my meals. I love that I had the flexibility to add a spontaneous hot chocolate bomb to my dinner that my brother brought for my nephew and me. We enjoyed the yummy beverages with zero guilt.
Adding strength training has been a total game changer and I am loving it in every single way.

It’s been a while since I’ve posted here, so I thought I do a little update.
I allowed myself to enjoy the holidays with family especially since I hadn’t been tracking for a couple months. Despite not tracking I managed to maintain my weight, which I’m super stoked about.
My intentions for 2022 are to build muscle and finally lose these extra 45lbs. I feel that after setting the foundation last year and figuring out what works for me, I want to go all in to reach my goals.
These first five days of the year have been great. I’ve focused on getting my protein intake up, doing strength training exercises, and spreading my food out throughout the day to keep my energy up.
So far I feel amazing. The pictures above are the lunch and dinner I shared with my goddaughter yesterday. We had a fun girls day, tried raising canes together for the first time, and ended with a fun boba tea splurge.
I feel so happy to be able to find this balance, and feeling empowered to push myself to be my best self.
