I'm an adult orphan and everyone is afraid of me.
No really, it's true. I get so many tone deaf and insensitive comments policing my grief and it used to drive me bananas. I mean, it still does but finally a light bulb went off and I realized how much culture has not prepared anyone for dealing with loss and realized I was maybe even triggering people. It doesn't make it okay, but knowledge it power.
Wanna know more? Please read the full blog post here on my site. Thanks!

My CPTSD Intro Post
I don't even know where to begin with my Complex PTSD introduction post. I’ve started several times trying to find the words and they all feel like trash to me. Yes, I sometimes have low self esteem and a perfectionist complex (both of which can be hallmarks of CPTSD) but there’s more to it. Complex trauma is, well, complex. There isn’t an easy way to explain it. There’s also a lot of different ways one can become complexly traumatized. I could share my exact story with all of its hairy details but at the end of the day that’s just me sharing trivia about myself. Yes, sharing one’s story can help others but with so much nuance, specific circumstances, and perfect storms in my story I know that not everyone with CPTSD will relate to all of the moving parts to my story so it seems silly to just talk about me and my journey. Some of the behaviors, symptoms, and thought patterns one has with CPTSD can be more uniform and relatable but even then there’s a spectrum. So the best way to start my inaugural CPTSD post is to explain my intentions behind what I want this series to accomplish and give a little bit of background information about how I even got CPTSD to begin with (since I probably can’t be too evasive and have to share some of it).
For the rest of this post, please finish it on my website/blog here.
I hope everyone is landing on their feet. I know firsthand how not linear healing is. I hope I can help you feel seen.

Hey, everyone! My website is live! All of my cemetery and grief videos are linked if browsing on YouTube is annoying. I also discuss my comedy and puppetry background. On my site I'm starting a blog where I will talk about CPTSD, grief, friendship (we don't talk about it enough as a culture!), what it's really like to live in LA, cannabis use through a healing (and sometimes for fun) lens after having to do a lot of trial and error as a general non-substance user, and random pop culture thoughts regarding how media infiltrates our sense of self and others.
This was a long time coming with a lot of executive dysfunction, imposter syndrome, and all kinds of other moments where I held myself back. I'd super appreciate it if you checked it out and stayed tuned for most posts! Please and thanks :)

Hey everyone! I've been slacking at sharing videos but here is the latest one from a cemetery! Fellow orphan Brian O'Hara and I (and Lady Grimaldi) go the Valley Oaks Memorial Park to see the graves of Karen Carpenter, Artie Shaw, Jack Kirby, and Ron Goldman. We also find some cool graves of non-famous folks in this episode (which I don't share in every episode). Because Brian and I are both orphans we talk about grief and the specificity of losing both of your parents. But as always, there's humor in this episode (one of the funnier ones, if I may say so myself!). Please enjoy and don't forget to subscribe!
And if you're into content about grief...more is coming soon outside of cemeteries so follow here to not miss anything. Thank you!

New sister channel all about movies! We all have gaps of knowledge with our film viewing. What if we watch something decades after it’s released? Does it hold up? Is it timeless? What about a rewatch? Will some things pop up with modern eyes?
In this episode Clark Canez watches When Harry Met Sally for the first time while Lauren-Blair Donovan rewatches it for the millionth time. How will they react? Watch along with us!

In episode 5 of Creepy & Kooky Cali, host Lauren-Blair Donovan and guest Clark Canez got stopped at Holy Cross cemetery by security for filming. After a long and pleasant conversation with said security guard, he allowed us to film graves that were famous (and even showed us where said famous graves were) but said non-famous graves were off limits. Sounds fair, right?
Maybe, maybe not. Clark and Blair debated several nuances (all while championing for the respect of the dead). Blair randomly asked a handful of her guests after this fateful taping their thoughts on filming/photographing/showcasing non-famous graves and sharing them on the Internet (all through a respectful point of view versus punching down.) You may be surprised by the answers.
In addition to Clark Canez, thank you to Cozi Orlen, Kristen Lucas, Kati O'Hearn, Lacy Hornick, and Nick Mayer for your thoughtful, insightful, hilarious, and critical thinking insights. Below is a full episode list/links in order of the clips appearances:

Samantha Jane Polay joins Lauren-Blair Donovan and Lady Grim in Eden Park Cemetery. We find Groucho Marx's grave but try to find it on screen before we do (trust me, we were idiots and you'll find him first!). We also find Lenny Bruce's grave. The rest of the video we discuss comedy, intent, what's allowed to be said, New York, and so much more. This is also the second Creepy & Kooky episode in a row where it could almost serve as a Good Grief crossover episode, as both Samana Jan and Lauren-Blair have lost their moms so there was TONS of death talks, grief chats, and all kinds of things.
Plus a bit about Fern Gully.

What is emotional tourism? Watch to find out! It’s something we all probably do within reason, but some circumstances make it worse than others. Let’s all be more aware and try to do better!
Most Good Grief videos are about death and loss, but I believe this is the most relatable video for all forms of trauma. So this is for everyone- not just those grieving!
