skam france s7 is actually...like...good. ok, yes, representation is a miss again. i think after wtfock season 4 with kato, the fandom needed a break from a racist privileged main, so maybe i’m a bit more optimistic with skamfr. but i’m really liking the season so far. i was worried it wouldn’t have og skam vibes, but it fits the skam theme pretty well. i love max (trans love interest where the conflict ISNT centered around his identity? YES PLEASE). i love la mif, they’re such a wonderful supportive group and i’m glad it’s being incorporated into tiff’s season. i like that tiff, when she makes mistakes, IS CORRECTED AND CALLED OUT ON (cough cough wtfock literally letting kato get away with her bullshit 24/7). the pregnancy storyline is actually pretty realistic and an issue a lot of teen girls go thru! i think, sure, they could’ve gone with a main that was a bit more diverse, but the writers do a wonderful job at making tiff likeable without justifying her past actions.

um yeah LMAO zondag 16:32 was a wild ride. finally kato’s season is interesting. yasmina spat straight FUCKING fire (as she should!!!) and called kato out on her bullshit. i’m hoping they don’t twist this around into a white savior arc between kato and moyo.

let me be angry about wtfock’s choices PLEASE

hot take apparently a lot of people like to claim that they listen to BIPOC and be actively anti-racist and then call me, a WOC, racist for being upset that skam postponed a muslim woc’s season for a white character we have never heard of. i’m sorry but television rarely gives poc well developed characters but skam typically does, which is why i was so excited for yasmina’s season, as a woc.

people aren’t getting the fact that wtfock may not be renewed for a fifth season, seeing that italia and netherlands and austin have not regardless of popularity, meaning we DONT KNOW FOR SURE IF YASMINA WILL GET HER SEASON. that is my biggest worry (pls lmk if they have confirmed s5!!!!) i understand that they delayed it for ramadan, and i understand that setting her season during ramadan is important for showing muslim practices.

however, what i do not understand is why a character we have never heard of must be the main, instead of moyo or someone we know well, like luca or amber or even aaron. moyo is arguably a new character from OG and different than mahdi, so i do not understand why wtfock could not gain the rights from nrk/julie andem to produce his season the way arthur in skam france was given his own season. moyo’s season would have been perfect given the civil rights movements like black lives matter happening around the world, as well as addressing his toxic masculinity issues. and we know amber isn’t a blocked character as viri (skam espana’s equivalent) was one of the mains of s3.

and yes, i am quick to make assumptions about wtfock given that we have six clips. however, i am free to my own opinion, as an audience member. i have a right to express my disappointments. look at how wtfock fandom was angry when sander didn’t appear in two episodes. look how angry wtfock fandom was at moyo in the first damn episode of s3. people forget that skam is still very much a television show open for interpretation and allowed to be criticized.

plus nora dari is literally AN ANGEL, and wtfock casted her perfectly, given that she’s moroccan (as og sana is) and muslim/hijabi. her character has been well developed since s1 and i was rlly excited for her development and relationship with islam/hijab (as belgium does not allow religious clothing to be worn in school). so many of the sana remakes have been sidelined for noorhelm drama, and seeing that zoe and senne break the boundaries with noorhelm dynamics, i was so ready for a zoe/noora drama free sana remake. so allow me to be upset over one of my favorite skamverse actresses not getting her season rn :(

i think i’m just peeved because i love nora dari (yasmina’s actress) so much. nora is actually muslim AND moroccan, as og sana was (they did a fuckin fantastic job casting her!) and a great actress. plus, s5 isn’t even official yet, so how will they ensure her story is told? and i thought they were casting the balloon squad in december after robbe’s season? idk, wtfock has always been confusing with the mains (like posting as if robbe was the s2 main, then bamboozling us and making it zoe). i just feel like it’s so early for a character like kato to be introduced if she isn’t the main. maybe moyo is the main and she’s the love interest? bruh idk.
